And that show was late 80's-early 90's, so it would be much easier to do today.
@@duotronicnone4572 Yes, it can potentially be done with green screen. But, in this case, it simply isn't. I mean, need I point out that there's green on one of the laptop screens there? In fact, looking at the icons along the bottom of them all, we can see red, green and blue all represented. Now, you might say that they green screened it, with the laptops off, and then sorted out the reflections, then composited in some desktop images onto the laptop screens to make them look like they are on - and deliberately chose one with a green background to throw us off. All that's entirely possible. But, equally, we know from reviews they've given that they have some big TVs. And the thing is that the "practical effects" version is just playing a fire animation on a big TV, with a reflective table in front of it with some laptops on it. That's it. That's way easier. Way less time-consuming. Is guaranteed to look perfect - without requiring tweaks and editing and all that - because it's quite literally actually happening right there in front of the camera for realz. Why would you go to all the effort of artificially recreating with visual effects that which you could actually do for real, by just sticking some laptops on a table in front of a big TV? A big TV that we know, for a fact, from earlier reviews on this channel, that they have available to use. Sure, this could potentially be done with green screen and compositing and such. But if you're actually doing it that way, when you could do a way better job far more easily, by just having a big TV, a table and some laptops, then film it for real, then you're honestly just doing it wrong.

@@pizza_parker9689 its pretty clear its not a green screen. Its literally reflecting onto the table in front of it
@@NeutralGuyDoubleZero Green greens can do reflections. The reflection would also be green and you vertically flip the composited image to create a reflection. Example: the stars at warp or a planet seen through the Observation Lounge windows on Star Trek: The Next Generation are also seen in reflection on the conference table's black glass top. And that show was late 80's-early 90's, so it would be much easier to do today.
@@duotronicnone4572 It's not a green screen dude, but keep doubling down and see where it gets you
@@duotronicnone4572 Yes, it can potentially be done with green screen.

I have a 2015 which is very similar to this. I didn't buy it recently though, I got it years ago.
It is a really well built machine even now and it still runs well. I use it for web development and productivity tasks, which it handles fine. But the screen is really bad on these. And the 128 gb SSD is laughably small. I constantly find myself filling it up.
These classic macs really were great machines though. A real golden age for laptop computers.
Why are people buying it still?
#1 It's Mac.
#2 It's /cheap/.
#3 Likely parents and adults not knowing any better.
At the same time Louis can be heard screaming in the distance.
Honestly, its true. They just want a Mac and they get it only for $750
Think businesses who buy in bulk. Many buy according to what the CEO or manager prefers... Which is often a MacBook.
Also...some parents know the metal chassis can take a beating. For students throwing this thing around in backpacks, durability matters.
Can't believe im 25 now. Grew up watching his videos. Started from how to apply thermal paste! Time flies.

My MacBook air has lasted longer than any other piece of tech I've ever purchased, and I bought it second hand.
same! mine is from 2013 and still going strong
@@fayosdiary mine is 2013 too. The battery isn't as strong as it once was, but other than that it's still working perfectly. Amazing considering the number of times I've left it on full load overnight.

Just get a secondhand thinkpad, those can’t break
It's all on how you treat your tech. I'm using a Samsung r580 and while it is obviously ancient (bought it in 2010) it still is working and usable
I'm still fine with my used ThinkPads for all the standard stuff most people do these days.

You have to factor in the resale price when factoring in the overall cost.
No u don't
R K Yes you do.
No, you definetly don't buy something including resale price unless you're a company lol as a normal user i'm buying a laptop factoring in what it does for me compared to its cost. Also which idiot would buy a 2017 macbook that's used and pay it more than 400$?
@@msp5138 it's not really true or at least people i know that prefere apple products do that very mindfully. The best example is a friend of mine that as a side job does photoshoots: he wanted a macbook and got it because of the ease of use of editing softwares, he didn't buy it because it was cool or because "apple". He's just lazy and not really prepared to deal with a pc
@@msp5138 read it again, i didn't make a statement. Not everyone that uses a pc is a master race idiot in the same measure as not everyone that uses a MacBook is an hipster idiot. I was just presenting anecdotal evidence that there are some people that know why they want a MacBook

Sounds good to me, I'll take two.
Figureight gotta say he got that analogy all wrong, that’s literally the definition of what people do when they buy a performance car
idk i see where people are coming from with this but today you can buy a track car that drives like a daily on the road. Adaptive suspension, multiple engine maps etc. I think other than actual GT comp. cars your going to be comfortable in a good track car.
@@henrywindsor7037 I disagree, it's a good analogy. When you buy a performance car that "hurts your back every time you get into it", you're buying a machine that performs well at the expense of daily comfort for everyday use. Taking that analogy to the laptops, you're buying a performance laptop with good processing power at the expense of daily comfort in everyday use.
@@manueldiedrich6139 yes, but I think the example is exaggerated if compared to the laptop's, you have better performance with half the price and it's not like your hand will hurt if you type on the cheaper laptop and you can use the extra performance for a lot of things, and the screen looks as bad as my monitor which is seriously old

yeah agreed
Pretty sure most public schools (at least in California) use Chromebooks. Mine is a charter school and they use MacBook Airs, but it's a 1:1 program where parents pay monthly for the laptop.
Is it true that public schools give free laptops to students. ?
I mean, how they can afford giving all these expensive laptops for free. ?
We ended up bitching so hard that the new students ended up with absolute beasts with dedicated gpus whilst we're still sitting here with 4 gigs of ram and full 128gig hardrives

Watching this on a 2015 MacBook Air. It does what I need it to do and it has the best build quality for what I can pay for them.
This video can be summed up with: people care more about the OS than specs. People like MacOS, you cant get away from that with budget windows pc. I know its ”better value for money” - but preference is preference.
I grew up using Windows and I've had to learn Mac for my design career, and I have to say I just find the Mac stuff to be more intuitive. I know I can probably spend some time and make something similar for cheaper. But stuff like the touchpad gestures and airplay save me so much time. And in terms of the OS, its much easier to find what I'm looking for when I need to change some settings.
