When I was out in the field with the Americans in 04 the first thing we did was swap MREs. As much as I love UK MREs, the best ones are any but your own. The Americans even agreed with each other that they now understand why us Brits drink tea. It is by far the best way to calm your nerves after a day of scanning mortar fire, chilling out with the boys at last light and reflecting on the day. It's the time to have a laugh and laugh. You can't beat a good cup of tea... Unless it's a pint of beer 😎
Hmm, oh wow! That'll cleanse your pallet. Hmm, what a great meal. Hmm, for hungry soldier out in the cold, hmm this is a great pick me up. Hmm it almost tastes like chicken with a slightly gamey taste. Hmm, that's a great main course full of protein. Hmm Oh wow, Hmm. That's great, hmm.
As a Brit, it pleases me that you found the combination of Tea and Digestives! They're an amazing combination. The perfect duo for when you are marching around in the cold. Great video!
Tea and biscuits are literally a tradition in Britain. Brits take their biscuits very seriously. During the recent flooding in May, there was a shortage and they literally flew in two plane cargoes as an emergency supply. If you get in between a Brit soldier and his tea and biscuits, you might get bayonetted ;)
TheJohn8765 I dont like Tea much but I have to say that a cup of tea with chocolate biscuits is a great combination. I hate tried them with expresso coffe but with tea is much better. I love Jazmim tea is the only one I can drink without upsetting my stomach. :)

Those boiled sweets are strangely addictive. The Beef jerky is only in about 2 packs from the menu of over 20, and was worth it's weight in gold on exercise.

The reason most of the cold weather rations come in ziploc bags is for bathroom/washroom use. If you're in or near the arctic heading out of the tent to answer the call of nature can result in frostbite to important parts. So the bag is used until it's nearly filled (resealed between uses) then tossed out of the tent.
It really makes me laugh seeing you get excited over Kenco coffee and Typhoo tea. They are staples in British households - along with the digestive biscuits!

well done in calling it jam, instead of 'jelly'.

Jam is when there are seeds/pulp and jelly when there are not (just juice), correct?
