I really appreciate a female behind the wheel! It takes a lot to be a driver and make it! Keep up the good work. As a driver my self hauling heavy equipment for a bridge company, I have seen beams slide threw the cab way to many times. Can I suggest using chains and binders. It will save your life! Keep on trucking!
@@johngrabowski2957 I won’t even stay in the truck when being off loaded. I was onsite when another driver was being unloaded and the crane cable snapped and the boom landed on the truck. No one got hurt but the truck and trailer was a pancake!

I'm a long distance trucker based in Scotland and I run all over Europe and I wish we had eateries like you have. I went to the US about 30 years ago...landed in Washington Dullas and worked my way down to San Francisco. I came home about 40 pounds heavier. You need to ease up on the pizza though, otherwise before you know it, hauling ass will take on a whole new meaning lol. Keep up the great work and stop throwing your straps on the floor! Xx

I did flatbeds for awhile I had loads of stone pavers and brick and used 4 foot protectors as it kept the stone tight Also hauled sheet rock tongue in groove plywood that the protectors kept the straps from damaging the good Nice cinch bar I had a T handle for straps without a roll-up Used chains I prefer rachets but used cinch ratchets I had the cinch bar with a pipe I always made sure I was clear if the ratchet flew Open
You needed to use chains across the front of beams near the cab. Criss-cross. If you had stopped short or hit another object head on; you and dogs would of been sliced in half from projectile beams. Stay safe Becca.

Exactly why I don’t do long haul anymore. Sit around and wait with no pay. Was fun seeing the USA from for 2.5 years but get paid hourly as a winch/heavy haul driver in Canada now.
I am certain that you have TP in your rig, during my tenure as a local LTL driver, I always carried a roll of TP in my pack, I once had to poop on a Friday evening @ a drop and swap load, in Philly, found a place to hide and go in a bunch of bushes in front of their building, and, in Lakewood, N.J. , at a pickup, made the P/U, the shipper closed for the night, so I left a pile of me in a small patch of trees and bushes along the Lakewood, N.J. Airport, dug a hole and cleaned everything up, I had no choice or else, you know. When you gotta go, ya gotta go. I like your candor,so down to Earth, literally, when you said that you had to poop, I laughed so hard, you are funny Becca, I like that!,

It usually was more stress than worthwhile to try to receive it, usually they say yes we're working on that but I hardly ever seen the payoff. Not saying don't try but I usually did what most drivers do and accept that rip off because they usually do not get it for us .😡
I’m sure someone has said it but if you have ever watched trucking with Schmidt he has them steps for his German shepherd you might consider getting a set of those are might make it a little easier on you and the dogs

Were you near Salamanca NY? We here have Amish in Central PA. A carriage (not buggy) gets up to 10mph, if it's a young buck showing off, he'll go 15mph. I like driving mules since horses are evil & bite. In order of preference I like mules, oxen, then chunks, then road horses.

Straps won't hold steel. Need choke chains with ratchet binders and X chain across front. Headache rack won't stop sliding steel.
