Don’t let it get you down Becca. Trucking is a dog eat dog industry so definitely don’t let them treat you like you’re not worth fair pay. Trust me with the shortage of drivers they should be kissing your feet.

As a former dispatcher/safety director for fed ex, I can only imagine what that company has put you through. I always tell my former drivers that once you quit a company, DO NOT COME BACK TO THE SAME COMPANY. It never works out in the end. So all I can say is good luck to you and have safe travel where ever you go!

Hardest part of driving was always the people in the industry that did not drive. Once dead headed from Houston back to the Wolverine cause some shipper was taking two days to get my load. Owned my truck and trailer tried to play nice but some times ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Ended up with Americo Carriers out of Scott’s bluff things got better . Than one day I was done with the whole mess sold it all and went back homes. Changes in latitude changes in attitude . Once in a while. Miss the road . One day if I live long enough I’ll wander back. But holy crap tractor prices are thru the roof. Hang in there.

Becca, you should watch SuperTruckerDan, he’s a flatbedder, he secures all kinds of weird freight, you might get some tips on how he secures loads with straps and chains. Just trying to be of assistance to you beautiful. Happy trails.

One bit of advice…never rest your leg on the any part of the dash while driving…if you have slam on the brakes and whatnot you could easily be looking at serious injuries…

Glad your back and employed. Word of advice for you don't discuss your pay that is personal and there are so many that will try to rip you off. Glad you stood your ground for what ever the reason. Hope even yes as a rookie but you must be doing good or they would not have asked you back. Hope you negotiated a pay raise. I would never change jobs for the same money. God Bless Be Safe

I’ve been late for like my last 5 appointments. These brokers think we’re robots that don’t need sleep. I don’t let them push me though. I like where I’m at but I’m not gonna stress myself trying to deliver dog food lol. You’re definitely worth more than .50! Keep your head up girl!

Well anytime your backing up- you should use your Flashers, No I’m not harping, no I’m not super trucker, I’m a retired driver- and Better to be Safe, than not, I Loved my Stepdeck - hopefully someday you can buy one, they are so handy, better than a flatbed. So do you have a strap roller, I have one, that I ain’t using, you ever come around 820, I could bring it to you, I’m in Fort Worth,-/-LakeWorth, area, when I got out of Trucking for good - I gave all my extra stuff away, to a young man first starting out. He had been driving awhile, but was just starting out on flatbeds. I kept my smoke tarps and a few other things, I’ve been off the road since 2003 - yes I miss it, but health and age - I best watch it from the comforts of home, anyway, this is my first video of yours. I’ll be watching and catching up on your other ones, as long as you do your Job the Best you can do, Run Legal !!! The Hell with dispatch- their a dime a dozen, a trucking company can get by without a dispatcher, but they will go Broke without Good drivers. Take care of your Truck and Equipment and it will make you Money, I use to carry Furniture pads and use under my tarps. Even when I was a company driver I would sew up rips and patch holes in my tarps,- I never had the shop complain to the owner about my equipment that I turned in- I quit a company 6 times and they always hired me back, it was a Great Company KTL til he sold out to tmc- I have no respect for that company- if someone wants to drive for them then that’s their business- I wouldn’t work for them myself- they Talked to me for 2 days pleading with me to cross over- but I said no, - they wanted me to be a trainer- I told him they couldn’t please me- so they Sure as Hell didn’t want me to train anymore to be other Me, haha- anyway Safe Travel- God Bless, I’ll look to see what other equipment I have and let you know. 🤠🐾♥️🙏🏻🇺🇸🍀🌲🦨

Hallo Becca! First time putting up a comment. Got my CDL in Germany. Did 2 years Trucking in East Afrika and about 2 years in Germany/Europe. I just got my CDL in the U.S.in January 21. Did 7 months of OYR with Trimac Transportation. Yard Manager did not take care of equipment properly, so got stuck out there with brakedowns.. I got my passanger and schoolbus endorsements last year and drive coach and schoolbus in the moment. Want to get my Crane Certification and be home every night. And make a little more money.. I might have watched 3 of your videos. I hope all goes well with you! I just can't believe most flatbed companies care for their lives of their drivers!!! If they would you had a headache rack installed at your truck!! Also they would not let you drive without headboard!!! You just have one live on this earth! Why not keep it as safe as possible! Having a headboard and headache rack might be the difference of you being alive in an accident and have something coming through your cabin and taking you out. It is just appoling how few companies care!!!
If I had a company, my drivers would have both of thses deterrents, because it might just safe the drivers live!!! Keep Trucking, maybe we meet one time!!

Truck doesn't have a headache rack.

The headache rack is really for your safety Incase the load would shift, with an emergency braking event.
