Is there anything more special than the genuine joy and laughter of a child? I too feel the handles are a bit large, but perhaps that is all you could find at the time. Personally, I liked it with just the brass inlays. I'm not sure how to open the drawers, but I wasn't doing all the work either, was I?
This is Lorraine from Corning New York you did a wonderful job on this outdated stand I would love to have it in my home I love your videos keep them coming you're doing a wonderful job on everything you remodel you have a talent for it keep going
Gorgeous color. Loved the refinish. Just a little busy with the competing metals, imo. Personally I would have loved the brass with wooden pulls. Great video and adorable lil man as always, just love his giggle😊
Wow! I love the stain colour and the brass inlay. I think it would have looked better with just 2 handles on each drawer and the handles slightly smaller? Just my opinion! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💙
I really like the look with ALL the hardware. Maybe that others think taht it's too much, but it gives the vibe of an old office or workshop! Why not going bold? I really like it as it is! And your cute son's laughter really made my day! Warm greetings from Germany ^^
Big change, came out nice. I would have it in my house, if I lived in New Zealand. As far as a chip brush for stain, use what you got. Heck, I use an old sock.
Thank you for filming for us even on a family visit! I am still amazed how much a stain can change the wood and how elegant it looks afterwards! I hope you guys can enjoy grandma and grandpa and have a good time on the other side of the planet. ❤ safe travels!
I really like the original (?) handles even though they kinda look like penne pasta to me. Ummm... pasta! 😋 Anyway, I read some comments saying "too much hardware" and I'm not sure how I feel about it. So... I'm going to defer to the experts on this one. After all, I'm a "Lunch Lady" who thought that the old handles looked like pasta. Thanks for the video, Cole it turned out lovely. I hope that you and the Fam are having the best time. Are you still in NZ? OMG... Sonny playing fetch with the pup had me in stitches. I bet your folks sure are missing you and enjoying the time with you all. ❤️🙏
Wow, Cole what a gorgeous transformation! Absolutely love the brass on the drawers and the drawer pulls are spot on! Little Sonny with the dog was so cute! His laughter is the best ever! Such a sweet happy little boy! So awesome to watch this channel and the Sophie and Cole about your long vacation was spectacular, made my day so much better! Hope you and your family have a wonderful week! Blessings 😊❤
Thanks Cole! Fun video. Hope you had a great time back home in NZ. Sonny bringing us some sunshine giggles! What a cutie! Oh and the dresser is pretty cool too.
Someone just earned a new sub! Fantastic work. Youre like a womble making good use of the things that you find haha i love it. Keep up the good work cus i need lots to learn over the next few years 👍
Cheers Jay, don’t think this will be everyone’s cup of tea but can’t win them all right 😉 A few people have said I should have actually split each of the drawers into two, sounds like a job for Jay to me 😎
Looks fantastic, I'm in preston, Lancashire, England and a 53 year old dog groomer🐶👍, I absolutely adore watching furniture restoration vids,I don't know why because I don't own any of said furniture I admire the expertise and knowledge needed to repair etc older furniture to save it from landfill.well done coll👍😃😃👍😃😃
I loved everything except the handles. I do realize however that you can’t necessarily get a great selection when in other areas of the world. Your son’s laughter was precious! Glad you got to visit your family!
It is gorgeous and I love the stain and style of it 😊 I do agree the hardware was a bit to big and plentiful BUT I imagine that you got what you could find, the sheer fact you are on holiday visiting family yet you still take the time to do a video for us is awesome 😎 Hope you are having a fabulous time with your family it certainly looks like Sonny is 😂 (bet he is being spoilt too and only right).
Looks soo cool, but I can't help but wonder (as I always do in similar cases) what's the point in having 4 handles on each drawer face? I never understood it hah I'm just asking, tho
You’ve got to love an opportunity to work on a solid wood piece! I had to chuckle every time you explained why you used the “fancy” equipment you had available. This is such a neat concept. I like the darker stain, and the brass is beautiful.
Cole, I always enjoy your videos. Love the stain color but I will have to agree with some of your other viewers, too much hardware! Sonny looked like he was having a ball with the lady I presume was his grandmother. I’ll bet they’re over the moon that you’re visiting.
Thank you Katherine, totally respect all the feedback on the hardware. I think next time I’d try and get my hands on much smaller hardware or try this style on a much larger piece. Yes, Sonny’s Nana is absolutely enjoying all the time with him! Precious times ☺️ Thank you for watching!
Love the wood and brass inlay beautiful job. I also loved the original handles, were they Bakelite ?? For me the handles are too big and just too much of a good thing. It’s not criticism just a personal observation. Looks like Sonny was having a great time too. I think the doggy will miss him when you leave. Not to mention family👏👏👏🤞🤞🫶🫶
Kia Ora Chris! Lovely what you have done with you design concept! It turned out beautifully. Is the dresser Kauri or Rimu? MCM - I have done a few back in the day. Either way it was in great condition and the result excellent! :-)
The brass inlay looks WOW but it would've come out much nicer with a minimalist (maybe lip) pull; the rest is somewaht clashing in style and there is too much going on. Still great handcraft; the refreshed wood looks so lovely! :)
Totally appreciate your feedback, perhaps this piece was a little small for the architects map drawer style, I’d probably go for something bigger and use small hardware next time. Thanks for watching :)
Band-Aids? My Brain is still Processing that. The Color is Nice but There's just Too Much Brass and Hardware. That Poor Dresser is Overwhelmed. I Enjoyed the Process! Thank You!
The person that bought it seemed to like the handles but good thing about hardware is it can always be changed :) I appreciate your opinion though. Thanks for watching
I was hoping you were going to split the drawers in half to make ten drawers as architect cabinets usually have very shallow drawers. A lot more work making extra bottoms and side runners. But a very nice job.
Something I will try when I have a few more tools and a bit more time. That certainly would have elevated the piece and tested my skills at the same time 😎
Cole, I always love your work. However, today I feel the pulls take the attention away from the beautiful brass inlay. Bit big. Otherwise, the rest is really well done.
Breaking those hideous handles was an act of kindness. The chest is now a keeper. Your little guy was delighted with the doggie! As for the criticism of “experts,” alphabet pianists deserve less attention than than dust on an old shoe. Enjoy your time in the antipodes.
I was a huge fan of this makeover until you put those label holders and drawer pulls on. The piece looked very high end and those drawer pulls and label holders are definitely not high end. The brass strips are beautiful but they disappear with those ugly pulls, etc on. So on this one (and so far it’s the only one) I’m going to have it a thumbs down. Sorry.
Fair enough, I’d probably have chosen different hard ware if I was able to get my hands on some. Totally appreciate your opinion although I do hope you didn’t actually hit the thumbs down! 😂
Sorry, too many handles for me and I feel they should be polished brass to match the strips. However, as usual, you’ve made a beautiful job of the woodwork, it looks beautiful. This is just my personal opinion for what I like, I’m sure lots of people will love it as is. You always take such care in every piece you restore. It’s quality workmanship xx
Gorgeous transformation❤
I love everything about it!!! ❤️
It's wonderful how you give new life to older pieces. Have fun with your family.
Love the colour and the brass inlay. The amount of hardware is over the top.
Out standing love the style! I am waiting to find a suitable chest of drawers to make one myself!❤
I hope you find something suitable soon, they really are very funky!! Thank you for watching 😎
A very handsome piece. Nicely done! Carol from California
Appreciate it Carol! 👍

Wow fabulous job 👍 I’m about to binge watch now I’ve discovered you! Uk fan 😊
Love it❤
I love the inlay!!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous color. Loved the refinish. Just a little busy with the competing metals, imo. Personally I would have loved the brass with wooden pulls. Great video and adorable lil man as always, just love his giggle😊
✨️ beautifully done💫 Sonny is so adorable. His giggle makes my heart ❤ full. I loved the 2nd video with you & Sophia😋
Wow! I love the stain colour and the brass inlay. I think it would have looked better with just 2 handles on each drawer and the handles slightly smaller? Just my opinion! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💙

Epic as always .....
You did an awesome job on this little dresser. The end result is amazing!!!
Thanks for the kind words 🙏
Looks great have wonderful visit with family .

First time seeing your work. I look forward to seeing more!😊
Thanks Cole! Fun video. Hope you had a great time back home in NZ. Sonny bringing us some sunshine giggles! What a cutie! Oh and the dresser is pretty cool too.
Love the result! Nice work Cole 👍 and imagine a personal shop that big lol
Beautiful transformation.
I think it's beautiful!! Great job working in a space that isn't loaded with your normal supplies!!
I love this piece! You totally transformed it!!! Well done!❤❤
Thanks! I had a lot of fun with this one! 🙏
Oh that stain color is sooooo beautiful 😍😍😍
I agree, it was stunning on this wood!
Gorgeous! What a transformation! Use what you got, I always say. Whatever will get the job done…doesn’t have to be fancy. Keep up the good work! 🦋
How could anyone resist using that awesome saw? How do you survive so much toddler cuteness without squeeeeeeing yourself to death?
Nice one. Love the brass.
Finished, it really looks quite wonderful
Nice
Gorgeous love the brass!
Thanks so much! I loved how the brass turned out as well.
Someone just earned a new sub! Fantastic work. Youre like a womble making good use of the things that you find haha i love it. Keep up the good work cus i need lots to learn over the next few years 👍
Thank you so much Andrew, I really appreciate that! Best of luck with your journey :)
I think it looks really great well done you
Fantastic job love the brass 🎉
I like it! Well done ❤
Thanks, appreciate the support 😊
Beautiful work 👏
I appreciate it 🙂
Very very nice!!
Thanks! 😊
Very nice - it is great to see you adapting to using a different shop and products !
Thank you very much, can be challenging but keeps things interesting!
How fun to have access to those big tools! Thanks for bringing us along on this one. Looking forward to seeing what you find to do next.
That’s much different style video but I love it 👏 great job mate
Cheers Jay, don’t think this will be everyone’s cup of tea but can’t win them all right 😉 A few people have said I should have actually split each of the drawers into two, sounds like a job for Jay to me 😎
@ just do you mate 🙂 too many specialists online 😉
Lovely to see you make use of some monstrous tools yet end up with such a tasteful piece!
Awesome new look
Beautiful job
Nicely done 👍
Turned out beautiful. Really a nice look
I love it it’s so pretty 😊

I love the waybit turned out, and I hope you all enjoyed your holiday with family. Sonny looked like he was having the time of his life
Bet you're glad to be warm again. Love the dresser.
Yes, I'm loving the warmer weather, thanks for watching! 😊
I loved everything except the handles. I do realize however that you can’t necessarily get a great selection when in other areas of the world. Your son’s laughter was precious! Glad you got to visit your family!
Nice job. Sonny is the happiest child in the world! ❤
Really cool. Hopefully you enjoyed your visit with your family. Bet they were thrilled to hug and kiss Mr Littleman again! Happy New Year.
Thanks for watching, and for the kind words. Happy New Year to you as well!
It is gorgeous and I love the stain and style of it 😊

Couldnt you drill the screws out to keep the old hardware?
Nau mai hoki mai! The change in the weather must have been fun as well...
The sun has certainly been welcomed!
The sun has certainly been welcomed!
Oh the joy of a child!
I like it😊
Thank you!
And sometimes a macky old chip brush is the perfect tool for the job.
You’ve got to love an opportunity to work on a solid wood piece! I had to chuckle every time you explained why you used the “fancy” equipment you had available.
This is such a neat concept. I like the darker stain, and the brass is beautiful.
I love the brass
Nice job! Any idea what the wood is? ... it looks great with walnut stain (and not the orange of the original finish).
My guess is Rimu, a native timber to New Zealand. Yes, it came up beautifully with the stain!
Love the video, but when you had to break the handles to get them off, it broke my heart as they are old and beautiful.
Шикарно. 👍🏻😍🔥
Thank you! 🙏
now i wanna do that too
Give it a go, fun way to makeover basic drawers!
Happy New Year! This turned out almost as handsome as you and Sonny! Looking forward to seeing more videos in 2025!
Amazing work. Maybe slightly too many handles?
Cole, I always enjoy your videos. Love the stain color but I will have to agree with some of your other viewers, too much hardware! Sonny looked like he was having a ball with the lady I presume was his grandmother. I’ll bet they’re over the moon that you’re visiting.

Yes, Sonny’s Nana is absolutely enjoying all the time with him! Precious times ☺️
Thank you for watching!
Great coloting job, and the brass inlay is gorgeous idea. Too many handles IMO.
Love the brass inlay! What happened to this piece?
Love the wood and brass inlay beautiful job. I also loved the original handles, were they Bakelite ?? For me the handles are too big and just too much of a good thing. It’s not criticism just a personal observation. Looks like Sonny was having a great time too. I think the doggy will miss him when you leave. Not to mention family👏👏👏🤞🤞🫶🫶
It's absolutely stunning , but too many handles ❤
Actually I like the way this one turned out…lol❤
Thank you for saying so, it’s getting mixed reviews!
Inlay run vertically and one pull on each drawer would have looked great.
3:25 Best. Scraping. EVER!
It was very satisfying 😂😎
Kia Ora Chris! Lovely what you have done with you design concept! It turned out beautifully. Is the dresser Kauri or Rimu? MCM - I have done a few back in the day. Either way it was in great condition and the result excellent! :-)

if your sta[n job came out how you wanted then you did it right , also gel stain is a wipe off after appling
Not my personal aesthetic, but you did a great job. And I’m no fan of Bakelite, so no harm, no foul for breaking those.
Band-Aids? My Brain is still Processing that. The Color is Nice but There's just Too Much Brass and Hardware. That Poor Dresser is Overwhelmed. I Enjoyed the Process! Thank You!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The excess of handles ruined everything else that was beautiful and clean.
The person that bought it seemed to like the handles but good thing about hardware is it can always be changed :) I appreciate your opinion though. Thanks for watching
Ok, a little too much hardware... But great job nonetheess. Fun with giant saws and air powered sanders! Safe travels, Cole and family.
Did this belong to Art Vandelay previously?
Maybe 1/2 the amount of hardware but wow that’s a bute.
Fair call!! Thank you for watching!
I was hoping you were going to split the drawers in half to make ten drawers as architect cabinets usually have very shallow drawers. A lot more work making extra bottoms and side runners. But a very nice job.

Cole, I always love your work. However, today I feel the pulls take the attention away from the beautiful brass inlay. Bit big. Otherwise, the rest is really well done.
Aaahhh.... now I understand.... I couldn't decide whether you lived in GB or New Zealand.....silly me....
It is quite confusing 🫤 Thank you for watching!
Breaking those hideous handles was an act of kindness. The chest is now a keeper. Your little guy was delighted with the doggie! As for the criticism of “experts,” alphabet pianists deserve less attention than than dust on an old shoe. Enjoy your time in the antipodes.

Is a No for me hardware issue. It’s a nice piece tho
Too much hardware 👎🏽

Yes a lovely piece but too many handles
Fair call, I knew it wouldn’t be for everyone 😎 Cheers for watching 👍
@@flipitnation if the handles were thinner or smaller it would blend more. Really enjoyed you enjoying the "big" tools 😊👍
great job cole, but for me its just tooo busy for my liking ;];];]
The bandaids 😷
Acho que você exagerou um pouco....
