    I have a Twingo 1.2 and I love it but it is quite slow on the hills. I have so much fun in it around the b roads in Cornwall. Looking to get an RS to add a bit of power. 52 years old and still love the hot hatches, who needs a beast of a car to have fun!

    Never been a fan of French cars ever. But recently purchased one of these exactly the same and have to say its changed my opinion. Great little cars comfortable very practical economical. Little pocket rocket pretty little cars. Have to give Renault its dues they know how to build a hot hatch. Would love to have seen these with a turbo on them though may up to about 160 bhp? That would have changed the game ride quality is not for the easily offended harsh and rough but once your used to it really notice their character. Quirky little things with attitude that's the best part.

    Sir as an owner of 2 roadsters both notchback and coupe, and later fortwos i am considering this car now and i am a bit scared of french reliability. I am very happy you compared them and chose this car. I would like to buy one very soon as i am selling my 451. I owned Abarth and the cost of new clutch and turbo was too much to me. I hope this car is the best of all of those. :)

      @DinosaurJuiceCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If not in the UK. Good luck with your hunt it is a very fun hot hatch. The suspension can be too stiff for some on the cup version. As for reliability you should be ok if serviced. Coil packs can get wet so some people seal the scuttle panel.

    I have found a Twingo RS 2011 with 30K km on the clock, and full service history. I really think of buying it but I am unsure about their reliability.
    How reliable are these cars? Any known problems/issues ?

    • @DinosaurJuiceCars

    • @DinosaurJuiceCars
      @DinosaurJuiceCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My phone mount holder is in that weird hole behind the rpm gage. The camera used for filming the on road parts of this video was mounted to the windscreen.

      @@hubkill I got it a long time ago for another car. It is a mount made for windscreens but does a good job at sticking to the plastic. On the phone side it is magnetic but I believe you could find a clip type if you don't like that style. Have a look on Amazon and you will probably find something that will do the job. Great video, man! You definetly earned a sub. The 2nd gen Twingo indeed is a very versatile car. I am looking right now for one, not sure yet if I am going to get a regular one or a GT, or the RS. I've heard even the regular one has a great handling characteristic, but I am a bit skeptical about that. Do you have any experience with other Twingos w/o the Cup Chassis?
    Thanks!

    • @drakvaclav826
      @drakvaclav826 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also note that I don't need any asphalt tearer, I am driving a 1.0 VVTi Yaris, which, while very practical and reliable, has the handling characteristic of a sponge. So I wanted something with comparable power, but livelier chassis.

    • @DinosaurJuiceCars
      @DinosaurJuiceCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have only had experience with my RS with a cup chassis. My recommendation is if you have a bad back don't get the cup and if you want good MPG don't get the RS. I am also very skeptical about the normal Twingos being anything more than a normal city car.

    • @drakvaclav826
      @drakvaclav826 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DinosaurJuiceCars Thanks, I'll probably look into the GT, it seems like the ultimate compromise.
      Also I would like to try sthg. different, never had a forced induction car, and the turbocharged 1.2 without direct injection sounds like something quite solid. It's the same recipe and reason why the 1.4 T-Jet from FCA for example, has no carbon build-up.

    Hi mate. Looking at one of these as an option for my next car. Currently driving a 2007 Astra 1.6 and it’s not the best. Rattles loads and is a bit terrible really 😂. Any major issues that these twingos suffer with?? Also do some of them have cruise control because I use it in the Astra quite a bit. Cheers :)

    • @DinosaurJuiceCars
      @DinosaurJuiceCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the facelift RS has cruise control. If you are doing a lot of motorway driving the lack of a sixth gear is quite annoying. And fuel economy isn't great. Other than that is a good car. You could try some of the owners clubs on Facebook or other platforms for more information as I have not had the car that long.
