Yo. Im having a similar issue. Like a knock when I reverse on a bump. I heard from forums it's the tie rods. I took mine to bmw and they could not duplicate so they didn't fix. Any luck finding out what it could be?
the color, exterior, interior and wonderful B58 is spot on! But BMW disappointed with that dashboard, big time! its like BMW said "lets slap two iPad together, glue them to the dashboard, don't integrate them into the dash but rather just mount with obnoxious bezels and zero curvature"

Personally as someone that likes to occasionally get sideways, I don't like that it doesn't have a gear lever to upshift or downshift. Would have to go for the manual, or older model with the gear selector.

hmmm, we just sold a model Y. I think they're great cars but a big change in terms of charging infrastructure. I personally like the reliability and build quality in BMWs, and was glad to be away from Tesla - mostly very reliable but when something goes wrong, Tesla is awful to work with
I ordered a similar spec with Portimao Blue, Cognac Sensatec, Track Package, Driver Assistance Pro, Premium Enhanced Package, Adaptive Dampers, Adaptive Headlights, and a few individual options. Didn’t care for the gloss black package.

This car is the only one I have seen with blue in the LED headlights. In the US I have only seen black caps and no trace of blue. This car may have blue because it was a very early build? I prefer the blue…especially with This blue paint.
Curious: why did you get rid of the Tesla in favor of this and are you happy with that decision? I have a model 3, but am considering making this same move. My main concerns, however, are going back to gas and overall maintenance of the vehicle throughout the life of ownership.
I've had 7 Teslas. Only two (my early model Y and my 2021 model 3) had problems but they were decently major (rebooting while driving, random autopilot failures). I find the m340i to be more fun to drive and much nicer inside than my model 3. It is slower in a straight line
Yea it is, my client advisor sent me a video that it was there, showed me how great car looks.....went to pick up next morning and they said you can't have it now...lol...might have to wait until november....big bummer
Great car definitely a little sporty sedan. I went for the 540i a lil more comfortable and just as quick I just don’t like the new screen to much hands free for me. Glad you enjoy it. Ride it like you stole it 😂.
@@singhr11 It does pop and bang especially during cold start. Once the engine is at operating temps it isn't as aggressive,. In comfort it is very quite unless you step on it. Keep in mind much of what you hear in the video is synthetic sounds coming through the speakers. Also with regards to the interior, the top deck trim on mine was gloss black, although I selected the anthracite rhombicle. ONly the center consolde came in rhombicle. The US bmw configurator doesn't reflect this. The reason for the gloss black is that now night time lighting elements are built into the trim. I do not have the M trim interior lighting. I selected to have without to have an array of colors to choose from. I was on the fence about the massive tablet like curved display but the image is so much sharper and improved that I'm happy with the 2023 updates. Also, on mine the rear deck spoiler is black, I suspect it is part of the package when you black out all the grill opennings and light housing. I prefer the contrast on the trunk compared to 2022 models. Again this isn't representative on the configurator.
My 340 is sitting at the dealer lot due to a stop sale order. They said there is some technical issue and they have to resolve it first before they can sell me the car. Did you have any similar issues?
Blue accents come on non shadowline as well but not sure about the cornering lights. Seeing some non-shadowline with and some without so not sure how the configuration works.
I just wish BMW would have great steering like the BMWs years ago. I drove a new M550 and the steering was loose and you felt disconnected from the road. It was a $92k car. For that kind of money, the car should have great steering.
IDrive 8 is pretty good but makes my phone run really slowly weirdly enough. I think the individual icons are slower than the nested menus in iDrive 7. Depends if you like the iDrive controller or touch screen. I find the touch screen faster when stopped but kind of hard to hit the right thing while driving.

In the North American market for Cognac, Canberra beige & Oyster interior, the bottom half of the dashboard is matched to the seat color. No pops & bangs after MY 2020. MY 2023 LCI only come with LEDs, no more Laser lights
I think the adaptive lights are coded differently in Europe, making them a bit more functional (or so people say). May be able to be modified via Bimmercode or something.

I ordered mine without Shadowline as well, but recently noticed on the pricing guide that the headlights are described differently in M Performance vs Shadowline design. In M Performance, it says the headlights are LED with auto high beam. But for Shadowline it changes to LED with cornering lights and auto high beam. Seeing as you have M Performance, does yours have cornering lights? EDIT: I see you show it and mention it in the video. Does it actually light up the side at night when it’s dark and you’re at the stop light? Or are they just dummy reflectors?

In Canada, 522 are the adaptive ones with cornering. It also gets Selective Beam, which isn’t available in the US. But hoping to “future proof” as much of it as I can in case the Adaptive and Selective Beam functions are available through ConnectedDrive in the future.
They actually turn on when you turn like coming in a driveway or making a u turn at a light I like it. Help you from hitting curbs and scratching the wheels

As a pre-lci owner, i gotta say that i liked it in pictures, but when i saw 2 of them in person, God am i glad that i didnt wait for the lci model. No lasers, not as good looking headlights, too large, too sharp lower mask portion of the front bumper. Looks like they made a change for sake of making any change with the goal to cut costs. Still a good looking car, but not as good looking as the pre-lci. My opinion though!
@@KitsCars right….it also has blue caps on the LEDs…if you were to order now…your car would come with black caps and no cornering lights. My guess is as a very early build they had not finalized the packages. If you go on the USA build tool and click on shadows line you will see cornering lights…it’s really why they are charging $850.
I can't really tell Sensatec from leather except it is a little grippier. It looks good and feels good. Will be interesting to see if I still like it when it is hot outside
How do you find the ride quality over the bumps? I notice you didn’t take the adaptive m suspension. Also in the near future can you make a night drive pov?
I do have the adaptive M suspension and it rides pretty well! I haven’t driven a G20 without though. I’m pretty impressed with the balance of ride quality and handling
@@layne4376 How many miles do you have on ur 340i now? And did you ever go over that rpm limit while still breaking in the engine under the 1200 miles? I got a new M440i recently and did a small pull and got to like 5 to maybe 6000 rpm for a few second and didn’t know if there will be any engine damage since it’s still breaking in.
I love that blue exterior and the Cognac interior. Although, I think the dash looks butt ugly now. Those screens just look like an after thought. And the wheels are kinda ugly.
I think it's pretty good. Definitely on the side of controlled rather than soft and floppy but I think it rides pretty nicely. I'd say not as firm as my e63s, definitely better damper control than my Tesla model 3 performance and most comfortable than my m2comp
I personally love the front end of this car and the big curved screen. Interiors of BMW's have come a long way, I have a 2011 N55 135i and it feels ancient inside😅
You have to select the "Shadowline" Design for $850 when you begin to configure the vehicle to get the red brakes. If you do, you are stuck with the '"Extended Shadowline Trim" which is not visually appropriate for all exterior colors. You can also select the "M Performance" Design to get the blue brakes and then add the Extended Shadowline Trim as an option if you want to keep the blue brakes and have all black trim pieces.

that screen looks terrible. looks like such an afterthought. the design language is just off. regardless this is a great looking car, you will enjoy this a lot!
Actually the opposite is true with modern engines, the science of the materials is completely different than the old days. They need pushed when new in order to bed in the surfaces (like brakes), it makes for a tighter seal over the lifetime of the pistons/rings. Once they lose that initial abrasiveness, if they haven't been married properly they never fit as air tight as they could have, if you take it too easy during break in you lose the ability to "shape" the metal and if it's not a tight fit, too late because the surfaces are now too smooth.
@@totenblok The external features seem to make the angles of the body look sharper. Rather the rounded corners of the pre-LCI. Hence I prefer colours that highlight that. Brooklyn Grey, skyscraper Grey even frosted Grey. Portimao was definitely my favourite previously, though
@@qsh- in general.. *suspensions are way up for an m packaged car. *Interior is biszare level ugly - i mean the screen is horribly done, ugly setup - just look at Mercedes, its perfectly done . *Overall just looks like an uglier version of LEXUS IS models. My opinion.
Bummer that turning on/off heated seats requires more effort. Hope they can make this more accessible via software update.

I think the m340i has pretty decent steering. It's not quite as alive as an e46 m3 but communicates well for an electric assist rack.

Totally agree! I have a 21’M340i with JB4 and I’m pushing well over 400. Love the car. It’s a blast to drive every time!

I think it's pretty good. Definitely on the side of controlled rather than soft and floppy but I think it rides pretty nicely. I'd say not as firm as my e63s, definitely better damper control than my Tesla model 3 performance and most comfortable than my m2comp
Don't like the LCI becoming less a BMW.. I drive 8 is filled with glitches as well. Keep your 21-2022 versions they will be sought after!

You have to select the "Shadowline" Design for $850 when you begin to configure the vehicle to get the red brakes. If you do, you are stuck with the '"Extended Shadowline Trim" which is not visually appropriate for all exterior colors. You can also select the "M Performance" Design to get the blue brakes and then add the Extended Shadowline Trim as an option if you want to keep the blue brakes and have all black trim pieces.
@@tomheringer2047 best fucking answer ever! Lol I'm ordering my m340i this month and this will help. I was not going to do frozen orange with red brakes, esthetically needs to be orange body paint and blue calipers with black interior.

Actually the opposite is true with modern engines, the science of the materials is completely different than the old days. They need pushed when new in order to bed in the surfaces (like brakes), it makes for a tighter seal over the lifetime of the pistons/rings. Once they lose that initial abrasiveness, if they haven't been married properly they never fit as air tight as they could have, if you take it too easy during break in you lose the ability to "shape" the metal and if it's not a tight fit, too late because the surfaces are now too smooth.

@@totenblok The external features seem to make the angles of the body look sharper. Rather the rounded corners of the pre-LCI. Hence I prefer colours that highlight that. Brooklyn Grey, skyscraper Grey even frosted Grey. Portimao was definitely my favourite previously, though

*Interior is biszare level ugly - i mean the screen is horribly done, ugly setup - just look at Mercedes, its perfectly done .
*Overall just looks like an uglier version of LEXUS IS models. My opinion.
