Great advice on signal mgmt in general and reminding everyone - everything sounds different live in the mix. We occasionally get "mayer hipster" guitarists dragging their Strat/JazzM/Martin behind their Fender Princeton saying "I don't want L/H cuts, compression or mid push from the desk and definitely no tubescreamer'drive to hurt my DYNAMICS!" The only cure that works is to forcing them to play one solo with a TS or gain stack pedal like Chase Bliss Brothers/Strymon Sunset vs their current settings routine......playing back full band live track demonstrates instantly the night and day effect.
Wonder why Mayer’s a toss? When you have an entire social media platform turn into a tribute band for you - you’ll have your answer. 🤣🤣🤣 And WTF is with Jazzmasters? If guitar models are the paint bushes for the art of music....the Jazzmaster is the finger painting of guitaring
@@Atttuner I think John is amazing (the dude can sing, play and write like a mofo) but the army of low rent clones he's inspired is pretty lame. I want to get a jazzmaster just so i cans et it up in Drop C and chunk riffs with it.
Leon Todd 🤣🤣🤣yes we’ve all secretly learned the continuum album when no ones watching....I’m just ripping on him for fun seems like he can be self deprecating enough to laugh along these days. Yep get that you’ll need the bridge upgrade to nail that drop C on the Jazz....then u can load up the Stry-fector overdose on ambient reverbs and dark side of galaxy modulation while you dream of an Enya collaboration 🤣
Leon, I've been messing with just a filter block to boost mids, cut the lows and highs and get a little volume bump for solos. Seems like a better option than just increasing the scene db in the output block, like I have been doing in my FM9. Thanks for all the insightful videos! Cheers! Now to mess with the noise gate to get it just right...
Leon is great! Best artist on the internet for learning about the Axe FX III.
Yea Indeed, isn't he just AWESOME. Tone Guru.
@@MoeedKazi you guys are all way too kind, thankyou!

"Mayer Hipster" guitarists made me chuckle - that's basically everyone on instagram right?

@@Atttuner I heard an Enya song yesterday and thought to myself "this would be fun with some chuggy riffs behind it". I'll have to try it.
Holy shit! Leon with the chugs and dissonant chords! :)
Gotta bring the bro0tz
Hell yeah!!! Need MOAR of this!!! ;)

That's a great way to do it!
Been waiting for this one!! GREAT stuff!!
Hi Leon, is that a shortcut key you use to Bypass a block on your keyboard? Thanks
found it, ;-)
Makes me wonder if Marshall and the quintessential heavy rock/metal tone has stereotyped gain staging and mid focused EQ more than it should be???
watches video, listens to "terrible" legato, tries "terrible" legato, wishes he could play "terrible" legato, checks comment box for crying emoji :|

Hahaha thanks for making me aware of how ridiculous that was
That Legato was in no way weak
