    SNK (especially with Shinkiro's designs) had the coolest most interesting and stylish characters than any other fighting game- and awesome music. My brothers and I of course were crazy over Street Fighter II and all, but Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, King of Fighters, and Samurai Showdown were all the best to us (especially KOF)

      +Dane Flote Yup! I think one of the reasons whys their characters were so damn cool, is because one of the designers back in the day mentioned that they treat the characters like real people lol.

      Takara, the publisher that ported Art of Fighting to the SNES, is responsible for that versions' soundtrack. SNK, on the other hand, has acted like the SNES versions' soundtrack doesn't exist, which sucks because I'd love a mashup of the Arcade/Neo Geo version with the SNES Soundtrack...

      Developer Monolith (not to be confused with MonolithSoft) ported this and most other SNK Neo Geo fighters on the Super NES. Seisuke Itoh stood by as composer of the port.
      I did an arrangement of Mr. Big's theme and in my arrangement, I've included the Neo Geo original & Super NES port music, along with mixing the two together. Check it out:

    ***** That's because the SNES had a superior audio set-up, with a CPU dedicated to just audio (even better than what arcade cabinets had at the time). Hence, re-orchestrated tracks that took advantage of this and turned out superior (not accounting preferences, of course). This was the case in many of the arcade ports on SNES.

    • @kenrickeason
      @kenrickeason 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country, Art of Fighting, and Super Street fighter 2 all took advantage of the Sound chip of the Super Nintendo! Some developers didn't use the sound chip right(I'm looking at you Midway)!

    *Bows to the power of the SNES' sound processors...*

    • @aarondegley9577
      @aarondegley9577 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PeromyscusLeucopus ...Considering 20+ people agreed with my comment and zero agreed with yours, I should be asking you if you're joking.
      Furthermore, I'm nowhere near an 'audio nerd,' but I stand by what I said, considering the following: 1) The track sounds damn good considering the SNES' audio capabilities & limitations, 2) It was (and still is) impressive to me as a fan of New Jack Swing, R&B, & Hip-Hop hearing New Jack Swing in, of all things, an adequate 16-bit port of an early-'90s middle-of-the-road fighting game, 3) Art of Fighting's original soundtrack (OST) on the Neo Geo is (outside of Todo's theme, which would become the leitmotif for the Art of Fighting Team in the King of Fighters series) bland/forgettable as hell, especially considering how great SNK's sound team(s) usually are/were, and 4) The SNES' is well-known for having several games of varying genres with excellent & classic soundtracks despite its aforementioned limitations in that department (and I won't even start on how the Genesis' audio capabilities pale in comparison).
      So again, the only 'joke' I see here is your overly emotional reply. Game Over, sir.

    • @aarondegley9577
      @aarondegley9577 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PeromyscusLeucopus Please show me where I said or implied that I was a 'Nintendo fanboy.' And do yourself a favor and don't make groundless assumptions about strangers online, as you know nothing about me or what systems/games I can or could afford. And really, the only 'fanboy' here is the one defending a bland SNK soundtrack that not too many people remember as if you were being paid to do so, and trying to tell others what they should and shouldn't like on random game soundtracks. Not to mention the SNES' audio capabilities & limitations were duly noted in my last reply, so you are free to cape for a company that doesn't know you exist if you like, just as much as I am to call you out on your hypocrisy and glaring fanboyism ;-)

    • @aarondegley9577
      @aarondegley9577 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PeromyscusLeucopus Also, I'm well aware of how great the Super Adventure Island soundtrack is (my favorite track on it is 'Essential Vitamins (the underwater stages),' which you can see in my below comment/reply to Jdub14000.

    • @aarondegley9577
      @aarondegley9577 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PeromyscusLeucopus Who are these 'people' you speak of, because the only 'person' who caught feelings and got 'salty & sour' because I called them out on their subjective b.s. here is you LOL And considering I'm neither a composer of the SNES Soundtrack nor the person who uploaded this video, it's pretty pathetic how emotionally invested you are about some random song on a SNES game that you have no personal or financial stake in (and, judging from the comments on this & the other video pages about this song, you're the only person who doesn't like the song, which is your prerogative), and how your dense ass is just typing to see your own font at this point, as I've said what I had to say about my liking the song while being well aware (more than you, as can be seen here) of the SNES' audio capabilities & limitations in my previous posts. Also, the fact that you listed several SNES games with well-known soundtracks only adds to my original post about the power of the SNES' sound processors, so thanks for talking/replying yourself into a wall/defeating your purpose while proving what I said in the above post.
      That being said, grow up, admit that your opinion about this song is woefully in the minority and that you are FAR from an authority on this subject, & stop replying to me with this redundant b.s. You lost, dunce. Period.

    • @aarondegley9577
      @aarondegley9577 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PeromyscusLeucopus Since it's obvious you won't shut up about this, enjoy being blocked, douche.

      lol Man, I couldn't believe I was hearing New Jack Swing in a SNES game back then, and the same went for the Island, R&B, Hip-Hop, & Funk elements in Super Adventure Island and Streets of Rage 1 & 2. If you weren't a gamer back then, you wouldn't really know how rare it was to hear the above genres in video games (or licensed music, for that matter).

    WAY better, robsouth. The SNES AOF's Soundtrack should've been the default version, especially with a rockin' track like this.
    I remember when I finally got to play the Neo Geo version and heard the music, I was highly disappointed (Despite the NG version being the definitive version in almost every other way--Gameplay, Graphics, etc.).
    Too bad the SNES and Genesis versions weren't as good as the NG version, Gameplay-and-Graphics-wise, although the SNES' controls were better than the NG's.

      pavy415 my guess is that arcade version and snes/other consoles use a different processor so when the games are ported, if they didn't change the soundtracks, it wouldn't sound as good. also I'm guessing arcades didn't use stereo sound since it was just one machine blasting mono sound out the front. it probably would've been a waste of effort and resources for the arcade machines to use stereo sound.

      It's completely different. The SNES had a superior soundchip and they redid many of the tracks to the game.

    the sub-boss character from the first two Art of Figthing games. He has been involved with the mob for as long as he can remember. He made it big in Southtown, a city as seedy and corrupt as he is. He joins Geese Howard's criminal organization, soon becoming his right-hand man. Big secretly feared Takuma Sakazaki, the master of Kyokugenryu Karate, so he ordered the kidnapping of Takuma's daughter, Yuri, and threatened Takuma into working for him.
