YES! I was actually quite skeptical of this game, but bought a Season 2 box to give a try. I now have all of S2 and S1 Rerolled. It really is just a ton of fun. Plus, if you and your friend both have copies, it becomes really easy to play over zoom. I've played with both my best friend as well as Kestrel several times. We just let the other person know what we rolled and what is happening. We use the tokens from their box to keep track of statuses they may inflict. I'm glad to see you enjoyed it!
Being pleasantly surprised by games is the best! Like Matthew, I'm also a huge fan of euros. Dice Throne has perfected American style games and elevated the style. They've had a checkered past, and not as many hits as euros, but I'm convinced the future is brighter than we all thought for these scrappy games. I can't deny Dice Throne's sheer fun, beauty, production, and replay value. It's clear that a ton of hard work went into the game, and I think that's something I've always appreciated about great games(mostly euros). Have loved introducing DT to friends and family for years, just like you're talking about here at the end. Great review and introduction to the game Matthew!
I'm glad you and Paula discovered the joy of this game. Now you gotta get those Murphy boys on board with it. I feel like they'd really enjoy it and I can't remember them ever mentioning it.

This is a great game. And Dice Throne Adventures is a fun progression turning it into a co-campaign game. And you get to choose your favorite character upgrade and get other cool abilities.
Cool review, but I'm still deciding between Unmatched or Dice Throne, which one is better? shall I buy the 2?
This is my favourite game. Unlike you, when I stumbled across this game it was like a religious experience watching the trailer. I think King of Tokyo was in my top games at that point, and I knew that this was a major evolution of that yahtzee mechanic. I absolutely LOVE playing Dice Throne, and for me it comes down to the fact that I spend almost the entire game making interesting decisions. Decisions that matter, but that never assure victory right until the end. Because you aren't assured of what cards you get or what dice you'll roll, you can't use the same strategy every time, and even facing off against different characters changes the ideal strategy at times. So it's always fresh, I find. I've played so many times and I'll sit down and play ANY character right now, and have a great time. Few games deliver that level of replayable fun to me.

I've been very skeptical of the game. It's Combat Yahtzee. But almost everyone has praised the game and called it a lot of fun.
I felt the same. But, MJ adds to the list of people who have wholeheartedly praised it. I may need to give this a try. 💁🏻
Love this game and good on you for the inclusivity of "tree-person"! This game is definitely flat out fun and you're right about wanting to get all the characters. My poor budget...
