This is my game of choice for when I "gateway" intro for non-board gamers. The theme is iconic and attractive to a wide variety of people. The accessibility, beautiful high quality game components and short teaching time make it perfect for easing someone into the community. The reactive game play, diverse cast and short play time makes this ideal for binging or marathoning multiple plays in one session. Lastly it hits that balance of easy to learn while still having enough depth to support a competitive scene for those who truly want to master it. All in all it's as close to a perfect game for new comers as I can think of. Great Video!

I've been a Kickstarter backer since Season One, this is such a fun, quick, teachable game. It's also backwards compatible with every season including the cooperative Adventures. Every character is completely unique. You can tell a lot of work and love has been put in to craft this wonderful game. This is my gateway game to get people into board games since everyone can easily pick up and start chucking dice. I'll be a backer for every project in the future.

I love that it's backwards compatible so i dont feel like i'm missing out and unable to play with everything before~ I absolutely love the system they came up with and can see them coming up with more and more as time goes on! YES! bring on the gateway games~ i totally agree-definitely a travel friendly/fantastic gateway!
I remember finding a dev-sponsored demo of the game on TTS, and just instantly falling in love with the game. There is just something so innately satisfying with building up your character, setting up dice combos, and doing so in direct competition with another player.

There is a whole community making print and playDice Throne characters, is so fun to do, and enjoy people's creativity as well as creating some yourself.

@@TimChuon .. Now I would go marvel battle chest. They have I think 4 level 2 heroes so it’s easier for beginners and the theme is better. Then after that I would do season 1. I think they have some easier characters for beginners and some nice harder ones. Season 2 is harder over all and I don’t like the characters as much. I would go battle chest instead of buying just 2 at a time. What’s fun is playing 2 or 3 games in a row with different characters. I think it would get boring just having a 2 pack.
Dice Throne is so so good!!! I didn't go for the Marvel version as I already have season's 1 and 2 which is plenty of characters (16) for my wife and I. Though "Christmas in July" is tempting... It's my wife's and my go to for when we want a fun fast light game. I, personally, like the variability of complexity. Sometimes I really want to just bash things with the Barbarian or Pyromancer and sometimes I want to play the fully complicated Tactician or... Artificer? I think that's the name. Just depending on whar my brain is feeling up for.
I'm in the same place. Didn't get Marvel as I've got all of regular Dice Throne (+ DT Adventure) and I've got Marvel Champions for my superhero fix! 🤣 I did however convince a friend to get them all though! muhaha!
the christmas in july that dropped TODAY! i saw them offering the older sets and now it's tempting to back a good portion of them....... that's fair! I think i just lean towards characters that have more of a toolkit so it feels like i'm doing a lot on my turn hahah! but i totally get that~
Beautiful video as always. We played two matches of this yesterday. I played Miles and Loki and had a great time. We have always house ruled Dice Throne to roll a dice to decide who you target with attacks and we enjoy. Although this Marvel version is now my favorite, I do think that you will like the original characters as well.

In my opinion the best fighting game, but would love to know your thoughts. I think "War of The Indines" is the nicest set to start with...but "Devastation" has the most characters and modes.
I've had Season 1, 2 and Adventures, but sadly traded them away at one point. I loved the easy-to-get-to-the-table parts of this game. The production is 10/10. But for me once you've played it with the same people enough, the gameplay just falls off. At least in those seasons, the boards were fairly similar in terms of what you needed to roll to get the best damage, usually a large straight. And then rolling for the same 2 or 3 combinations grew too samey. I love dice chuckers, funny I traded it to BoardgameCo for Zombicide BP. I was tempted to get this one with my love for Marvel. It's definitely a great game that almost anyone can love. Just didn't have the staying power for me personally.
oh how funny! that's a fun trade though- I can see where both have very close similarities! I think i'm probably spoiled in playing the later seasons; they might have had more time to make more changes and updates to the system that i'm not initially seeing since I haven't played the original! might be fun for you to try out someday Bryce-i'll bring it along when I travel so maybe if we run into each other, we could catch a game!
We have Season 2 and DT Adventures. Ended up backing this because more characters are always fun, and the new characters looked interesting to play. Also, while I agree that it would be nice to have an easy and advanced mode for some of the characters, I think that doing it well would be significantly more difficult than just putting some extra text on the character card.
I'm totally going to get more characters after this-i'm committed! 😂 Definitely! I for sure made it sound way easier than it is, but coincidentally-there was a campaign launched today and they included an update for balance...there were actually fixes presented on the card themselves and they seemed major! it definitely would be a strong ask, but it'd be awesome to see if it's possible in a future update~

Oh Yeah! Dice Throne is a very fun game. Marvel Dice Throne adds a really nice theme to it. Hopefully we'll see Marvel Dice Throne Adventures next.
