Years ago I worked as an Army civilian police officer and we often discussed during our active shooter training that we would likely have individuals who had a firearm try to assist us with the situation. Essentially we said ‘eff it, even though technically CCW isn’t allowed on a military base, we’re gonna take the help and deal with the situation later.
FYI, no CCW on a military facility is utter nonsense.

It’s crazy that even though he was retired, the man still had his cop sense to run towards an officer he thought needed help without having his own firearm knowing that the other cop was in a shootout.
I hope he’s doing well in life. Bless him.

@Jason Shoots Are you suggesting you want a participation trophy for not helping? That I should recognize the hypothetical driver that just drove by?
My comment was about a person that was responding to an incident to try and make a difference.
The fact is this: it's not heroic to run away. We don't give awards or medals to the people that DIDN'T do anything in a time of crisis.
If you want praise or recognition you're gonna have to do more than run away. What makes that retired cop praiseworthy is what he did to help.

But in America alost every family owns a gun and only a select few are hunters and alot of those are trophy hunters. Why all the gun's man? I get it tho you need a gun to beat a gun. lol ankle is a great place to keep your backup gun when you have a full belt. you won't be able to fit it on your belt, and you kind of don't want it there. you don't want it in your back pocket because thats uncomfortable as hell (although i do know a cop that carries a little tiny revolver in his back pocket). you can really put it in your waistband because your gear will be pushing on it. you can't put it in your front pocket because then you can't draw it from seated.
basically the best options are ankle for concealed and then chest (like over your man boob) or under your shoulder if you are a cop from 1985. i've only see military cops carry their backup but on their chest because its typically the backup to a rifle.
now, if he was wearing real cowboy boots and had a full size colt navy in his boot, that would be cowboy as hell

So, the shortie mag thing. I worked alongside an agency who had a mount up front for the rifles, but because of how they were mounted, it was hard as hell to remove them with a larger mag, so in order to have some rounds ready to go, they used a 10 round mag in the weapon, and any officer who wanted a rifle, had to carry a larger mag on their person. I wonder if this is the same sort of issue.

I got out of my car in Long Beach, CA to close my gate. I had a dirt driveway. Someone started shooting and I turned to run in the house. I slipped in the gravel and fell and 1 bullet whizzed right by my head and another hit the dirt about 1 foot in front of my face. I ran up my steps to get in but the back door was locked. The power line that fed my house ran right overhead right there. They shot the line and the lights went off. I kicked the back door in and my sister was screaming. She was there babysitting my 2 kids while I dropped my son and wife off at the hospital for a sleep study. She thought she was the intended victim. We used to sleep with our feet toward the wall incase we got shot through the walls at night hoping we'd take a foot shot instead of a head shot. They did NOT want white people in that neighborhood. The police and helicopters were too late to catch them. We moved away as soon as I could get the money and I never looked back.

Context - it was June 24th 2022 I was driving my Subaru Legacy 3.6r Limited at 1:10pm, on my way to see my friend Emma for lunch and I passed him at 96mph and he lit me up in a r/t or scatpack charger and gave me a 158$ ticket he wrote me for going 10 over the speed limit. Absolute life saver that day for not giving me a worse ticket. But he was genuinely the nicest cop I’ve talked to. @@squidy4082 Even with your hands up though like it depends, I keep an AR in the car and I sure wouldn't be stepping into a gunfight without that on me so idk how a cop would react to that. Either way glad this guy could help, I bet that was a huge relief cuz that cop probably felt pretty alone when it was just him and the baddie

Thanks for this, Donut. My daughter works in the building in the background of the video. I was driving long haul somewhere in Wyoming when she called and said that they were on lockdown for an active shooter. Thank God the OSP Trooper was there and stayed in the fight. Thanks again, 1SG.

      Summary:
      Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because Hiko was already dead.

So what about all the other times police officers were fatally shot? Or what about all those gruesome beheadings the cartels video tape? Where was god for that?? Either god only chooses some people to save, or he’s completely evil. But even more likely then any of those, god just simply does not exist. Or what about all the black people police officers have un rightfully murdered? Stop living in this bs fantasy where you think gods gonna protect you and make miracles happen, just stop being so afraid of death. To be so afraid that you need to make up a fairytale just to feel safe is childish. Grow up. It’s so frustrating to hear this miracle bs when thousands of innocent children and adults die every single day. Sometimes in the most gruesome of ways. We live to suffer, that is what life is all about. That is reality no matter how that makes you feel.
