My husband was an officer for 25 years. He was out jogging one morning and twisted his ankle. Along came someone he had arrested once, who stopped, picked him up and brought him home.

This story just brought me to tears. You had a choice to make. And you stood tall in the midst of diversity to prove humanity and love conquers all. Thank you for your bravery and setting an example of what a hero is truly defined as. You chose love first, and that is true character. So grateful to watch the outcome be a joyful one. Despite the hardships of your past, you showed that true character is a choice. Forgiveness is a choice. May you continue to carry that peace in your heart with dignity. You saved a life. Such a true heroic action. I hope that sets a precedent in your community. That no matter what, everyone is given a choice to do the right thing. In every profession and in every walk of life..
