2016 documentary: The Eagle Huntress, is a brilliant insight into Mongolia's remaining traditional (and changing) ways of life. Good way to add nuances to the stereotypes.
I gave an Ethengarian NPC as a sidekick to my party. Hilariously a Glantrial wizard PC managed to BS him into thinking he is not from Glantri and is in fact a Karameikan noble hunted by an evil Glantrian wizard, so Ethengarian swore to protect him. Now said Ethengarian's best friend/girlfriend from is from Karameikos is trying to prove wizard a liar.
This breakdown is welcome and comes at a really good time for me as well so, thank you for this. My current group is following a group of baddies in the Trollheims along the border in Vestland and they're constantly asking about Ethengar to the West. It's only a matter of time lol. I have the original Gazetteer for Ethengar but this info helps tremendously, especially since we play 5E and it's a little easier now to pick up on details. Looking forward to the Shadow Elves in a big way!
Sounds like the regional arcane caster would be a great re-skin of the Sorcerer, with stuff related to the sigils and such being the "bloodline." Kind of like Pathfinders "Arcane" bloodline.
TSR really missed an opportunity here, should have named him "Mobileguy Khan" instead of "Moglai Khan." You know, cause the going fast on horses and such...

Why I love Mr. Welch’s videos. I come for Mystara, which I get and am quite happy for. But, I also get a lovely dissertation on Mongolian metal bands.
Great HU jokes at the beginning, well done
The Hu is one of my preferences to start a playlist.
So yes, the Hu's on first.
I heard Bill and Ted jokes at the beginning.
"How come no one thought of this before?"
Tengger Cavalry just stare at you, silently.
What a killer band too

Saw the Hu open for Megadeth in Hershey, PA last month. They were cool.
HU! HU! HU! HU! HU!

Was that a Bill & Ted's reference at the start?
Two actually
Problem: Mystara is 50% mountain ranges.
Solution: Pegasi. _All_ of them.
Nice Londo Molari reference
Don't think I didn't spot that Babylon 5 reference!
Is there a Ochalian ( probably misspelled ) video ?
No. There's barely three paragraphs on it I would have to be making up a lot of stuff out of whole cloth or using Homebrew sources
I love me some Hu
Pale people and Tim Burton movies... Fine, ya got me...

tengger cavalry was way better than the hu will ever dream of being.
What ever happened to Mako???
Cancer got him in 06

I'll happily invade China alongside The Hu. But really, great recap!

God damn, John Wane as Gengis Khan still make me cringe...
Fantastic video!
