@Mr_Welch I never understood why glass is rare in the City of the Stars. Its 3 ingredients. Silicon dioxide (sand), Sodium Carbonate (soda ash), and Calcium Carbonate (limestone). Seems like all of that is available underground.
I'll always have a special appreciation for the Shadow Elves. Studying them through Mr. Welch and other sources really got me more into Mystara. Comparing\contrasting them to the Drow really enhanced my own elven creations. The Shadow Elves have been steadfast guides.
"Later, in almanacs and the other books, they're back to being cartoon villains doomed to incompetence as the conquer Alfheim, and can only watch it wither and die, because they have no idea what they're doing . . ." So, Shadow Elves are the USSR right after the Communist Revolution?
I love the alternative timeline where Shadow Elves take over the Broken Lands and have a purple forest where they run the show. I would love to play one who was scouting the surface and trying to find a new homeland or base for his people.
Merry Christmas, Thank you for remastering my first Gazeeter. Once again I heard nothing about the Feathered Serpent, Telemon's spymaster who's been brainwashed by Atzanteotl and his ring of double spies. I always got the feeling that Telemon (while still bad) was being duped by the old spy Still think the Shaman's most iconic spells are the Radiance spells they can learn but I'll agree to disagree.
I don't remember the exact name of the module, I had a good portion of the shadow elves move to the Sylvan realm on the arm of the Immortals. Several elves from Alfheim went with them to help in the transition.
Just picked this Gazeteer up recently a week or two ago. As much as the Shadow Elves interest me, I'm not sure how easily one could be put into a non-Shadow Elf campaign, especially a Shaman...What with the Shaman Magic relying on just having a Soul Crystal, which crumbles in sunlight and crumbles after a few hours in darkness on the surface...A Spy makes sense though, especially with folks just assuming your a sea elf. That said, I do kind of want to figure out a way for one to leave the Mystaran Crystal Sphere for a Spelljammer game with my drow-obsessed Friend...
The elf chick at the very beginning of the video: "Why does everybody think that shadow elves are evil?" Me: "AAAAAUUUGGGGGHHH! VAMPIRE! ....oh wait. Its just a tattoo under your lips, not blood. Ahahaha....yeah."
This is weird. I always read the name of the Shadow Elves' patron as Ray - Fee - El, rather than Rah - Fah - El. I mean, the guy is a scientists, not a turtle.
Shadow Elves are the better Drow, even in Capcom's Mystara arcade games where they have little to do with the source material (instead being portrayed a teleporting sword mages who could probably go toe-to-toe with a Final Fantasy protagonist in terms of Weeabo Fightan Magic). Also it is unfair to assume underground elves are evil when no one has ever been suspicious of underground _dwarves_ . It's because of the height, isn't it?
Don't we all? When artists actually were artists; not self-taught half-assed illustrators claiming the title. …but I get the feeling we're talking about different characters… lol Merry Christmas, Duuude!
Hot take: I think Drow do more, better. Yes it's edgy tryhard hot topic BS with just a smidgen too much "please just get it out of your system before you write it down" type faffing about but it's _distinct_ whereas the Shadow Elves are just sort of high elves underground more or less. It just sort of lacks zing, I feel.

"At least their flesh wasn't sluffing off their bodies, you gotta take your victories where you can get them". Fairly said.
Mr.Welch: "Pointed eared candles"
Salamander Marine: "Brother.....Brother....He got the heavy flamer"
Merry Christmas Mr Welch. Hope today has been going well
It's Lee Majors!

Or the modern Russian Federation?

Merry Christmas, I'm glad to see more on Shadow Elves.

I was all most a welder once .
Question: Would you give up Mystara for the love of that doe-eyed goddess, if she offered you the option? lol
If she is a goddess, she will be perfect in every way thus she will demand Mystara be part of the relationship.
@@Mr_Welch Genius dude, lol.
Winona as a Shadow Elf is perfectly fine, so long as we get more of her.
This is weird. I always read the name of the Shadow Elves' patron as Ray - Fee - El, rather than Rah - Fah - El. I mean, the guy is a scientists, not a turtle.
Do any of the Gazetteers go into detail about Blackmoor and what happened to it?
The DA series of modules do but nothing official exists about the Great Rain of Fire
@@Mr_Welch Thank you, my good sir.

2:18 where the heck does that artwork come from and where can I get a copy?
League of Legends
So they also worship leonardo, donatello and Michelangelo?

@@Wraithing a good cowabunga to you too, dude.
Hey is possible to do a mad musing on unknown armies?
If I can find a copy
What happened to the humans they chased out?
Considering they were never heard from again and who their Patron Immortal was it probably didn't end well for them
They are not evil but they hate everybody lo.
