Stock Camaro SS 1LE vs Tuned Supras

Taking the loss against the Supras but I’m honestly impressed by my car. Much heavier by at least 400lbs plus with passenger, 6 speed, and stock. BMW B58 is a strong motor. Underrated from the factory, BMW claims 330 in 2020 Supra but it’s def way closer to the 2021 380hp rating. With downpipes & tune I bet these cars are well over 450hp. With Headers and full exhaust I believe the Camaro would take these Supras. Overall fun night of racing and seeing how cars stack up against each other.

What speed were the rolls from ? The Camaro is classic V8: it makes its power down low. The DOHC Mustangs and heavily boosted Supras will always have the advantage on a 50 plus rolls. The Mustang crowd will always say something about traction...but in most cases they have looked at the back of a Camaro in almost all stop light to stop light runs.

@@StirlingMossDrives 35-40 roll is a decent roll for a Camaro. Mustangs love 60’s. They make excuses all day why they can’t go lower. Lol . My 1le looks like yours except for mine is slightly lowered. Keep the content coming bro!!

Race those Supras like you would a Mustang. A 35 roll or somewhere in that area. For example the gen 3 Coyote Mustangs love a 60 roll but from about 30-35 they don't have any nuts. And with the Supra, it's a way lighter car and boosted. The passenger probably should have been in the Supra 😂. Every bit counts when you have a heavily boosted car.

I wouldn’t. Would just have bought a ZL1 at that point. But you can make some crazy N/A builds out of the LT1. I love N/A power. Maybe I’ll do something in the future.

I wished so but more power to the 1LE. Held it’s ground really well against the lighter car & opened up b58. With similar money on mods I’m sure the camaro would breeze by.

Honestly, stock and a RotoFab does the best. I've raced fbo 1le's dyno tuned and they never run as good as stock. The only thing that helps these cars seem to be forced induction or cams. I've raced several fbo E85 1le's and they never pull. They are dyno tuned, with headers, E85, exhaus, etc. They seem to lose SO much low end torque that it doesn't make it up in most cases. The Chevy is a stump puller. It does all it's work on low end. Racing these DOHC turbo engines, etc is not it's cup of tea. It likes digs or very low mph rolls. Say a 30 roll at best. Like why give the other cars the advantage if they are SO fast ?

@@machinis I'm not saying that your particular car doesn't make more power: I'm just saying that every fbo Camaro I've ran 18 below, wasn't impressive! Now granted, they were all tuned by the same local tuner ( which to me is not good); but I have yet to see anything impressive. I've ran 2 fbo Camaros and I have friends with full FBO, "dyno tuned" 6th Gens get beat by bone stock Camaros, so I'm not the only one that's noticed. I'm a fan of watching RPM videos and their builds but I have yet to see any builds that make me want to spend the money. Don't get me wrong, I like to go fast but I think I'll wait for a Zle.
