    I’m at a completely different point in my life. Sold all my toys. Paid everything off except my mortgage. Quit my job I hated and I’ve never been happier. Financial freedom from debt is the best feeling in the world. Do I still want cars absolutely but not enough to be tied down with debt and payments. Appreciate your honesty! 🤟

      I have no financial benefit to not have a car payment. What's 5-6 years of payments for such a long life? Even more after that. Fixed debt isn't the same revolving debt. When I get new cars I'm not bogged down by debt and payments, I'm happy for what I'm paying for. It's not much different than a relationship, you'll have a lot more cash if you stay single.

      It's all in perspective man. You can invest 40k into a depreciating asset or put it into investment and have 100k later. Still I buy cars but I can tell you it's not financially smart haha

      The lack of stress from not having debt is good. I know what you mean. I paid everything off in my early 40's (multiple cars. motorcycles, house, daughter's college education.... I am 52)..... But, I do currently have loans on some vehicles and some credit cards because the interest rate is either super low (less than 2%) or actually zero. The credit cards ALWAYS get paid off before the zero rates expire and the low interest vehicle loans get milked out to the end to take advantage of the low rate. I just wish I would have chose a profession in which I could retire after 30 years. I'd be done working for someone else (a corporation). We are living in crazy times and I am afraid the outlook is even worse.

Cars are sometimes the only escape from reality we have, we can live in the moment when the noise scenary and the vibrations come together. All excellent points. I'm in the market for a CTR because I'm an unapologetic Honda fan, but the 1le is hands down the best performance car available in the US under 60K. It's a remarkable piece of kit that is already an instant classic. Looks amazing, too. Cheers.

    If you don't mind the tire expense, they can be daily drivers. My opinion is they are best as 2nd cars (weekend cars, special occasion, etc.). Primary cars can then be used to carry people and things, get scuffed up in parking lots and it doesn't matter as much. These cars also need to parked in safe areas (garages, off-street, etc.)

    Great video man, I’m in a dilemma. Most of the points you said about the 2ss is the reason why I want a low optioned 2ss, has all the features I could possibly want. Then I look at the LT1 which has the same motor, and a much better price range for me, and I’m stuck. I’ve been looking at videos going back and forth between the two trims and I think it’s pointed to me what I should do. Although the luxury of the 2ss seems perfect, I could probably get by with decent optioned LT1, and will probably at the end of the day be happier. I’ll really have to see the two in person to really really decide, but I think your vid has me on the right track.

    I didn't do the 1LE simply because I found a great deal on a 2022 1SS that had what was most important to me. Black, manual, Recaro seats. Those were my 3 must haves. To go the 1LE route meant a car with more miles and about 4 years older to keep it in budget. Same year as mine in a 1LE would have cost about another 8 to 9K dollars. Adding the 1LE Wheel and tire package improved handling tremendously. I bought this car to be a street fighter, I have no desire to track the car. If tracking the car is what you want to do then IMO the 1LE is a no brainer.

    pre-comment, I'll admit my view-point on cars is skewed because my first car was a 96 camaro I saved up and bought it when I was 15.. But then I joined the Auto Collision Repair shop in a technical high school and bought a 87 Z/28 with a nice suspension and sway bars as thick as exhaust tubing lol. ( yes I'm exaggerating, but not by much ) Point is, from way back then I had a vehicle rolling on ZR rated run flat tires with a trick suspension that could take a 90mph hair pin corner as reliably as a Hellcat stopping at every gas station. The cars handling was insane, all be it a low horse power car, it hung with plenty of Porches and Ferraris running around the twisty mountain roads. It was obnoxiously stiff though, you felt every bump and rattle from here to Vegas and back. Fast forward to now with my current 5th gen Camaro, it feels pretty smooth and easily livable. The 87 Z/28 I had was soooo low to the ground I couldn't do anything without losing paint and metal lol, the 5th gen feels like a truck in comparison, but my point is the 5th and 6th gen's are actually very tame even at high horse power, easy to drive and daily drive. Coming from my background with the modified Z/28, the Iroc-z, the Fox Body and so on and on pre-dating the 5th gen. All I'm saying is if your used to modern cars, yeah a 5th or 6th gen Camaro will be very harsh and track focused feeling. BUT if you come from old tuner cars or muscle cars with aftermarket suspensions stiffer than a Cummins fuel rail, then its no big deal trust me... The 5th gen is an easy daily, and awesome to modify. I wouldn't go with anything mag-ride however, because if you look at the forums and talk to owners of Corvettes/ Camaros/ and Cadillacs they all end up deleting it and going to aftermarket suspensions that out handle the factory set up anyway... So if your gonna keep the car, don't buy the 1LE, just buy your own set of wheels and tires with your suspension package of choice, I prefer BMR suspension with Continental tires under it myself.. But there are a lot of good options out there for both 5th and 6th gens, I would say anyone who has refused to buy or drive new cars will love this things. If you got a 2018 Lexus, meh probably not... That conversion will feel like riding a dump truck down a flight of stairs in comparison.. Its all about what your used to.

I live in the midwest and performance summer tires SUCK in the winter. Some might say, "I can do this!" However, they haven't had to use their window scraper to clear two ruts in an inch of sleet to get out of a grocery store parking lot. They haven't had to replace 4 completely bald tires after stretching them as far as they could go at 14 thousand miles. When you are talking summer tires and killer suspensions, you are talking about nice weather driving.

A used one will be around mid 30s and there are a ton of mods you can do to it. On highway you’ll get 30+ mpg. If you wanna go even cheaper Veloster N is a great choice. Stock it’s track ready and it probably handles as good as that Camaro (maybe not at the limit lol). If you can afford the payment and support yourself with the basic necessities, no need to get a basic car. Enjoy life and what you want and what you own, cause you only have one chance to do it.
    I just got out of college and got my first job so I’m looking at a LT1, not too spec’d out but just perfect for me and my current situation. Living with parents, don’t drive a lot, and I barely carry anything in a car for work or just daily life tasks. Also a camaro is a camaro, V8 and styling, and for me it’s just having the car.

    • @Hot-1LE
      @Hot-1LE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree man. At one time (many moons ago)I basically lived on beans and rice to afford a v8 muscle car because of circomstances that happened out of my control. The financial turmoil and stress that followed that forever keeps me weary on big expenses (here I say that in my 46k car lmao). The lt1 is awesome car for the money, bang for buck cars are my niche and you get a lot for that trim. Not sure how long the Camaro will be around but if you can comfortably get one, hold onto it. They really are a jewel. Thanks for watching man.

    I had a 1993 camaro z28 6speed....that optic spark was a nightmare...my car shut off 27 times coming from work literally 😐. My water pump failed and it leaked into the distributor. That car put me through hell and back when it came to reliability. My mechanic was screwing me over big time, I wanted to kill him for what he put me through that I became traumatized going to mechanics ever since. But once everything was fixed...best car I ever owned. A blast to drive, car got totaled 1 month before I was going to install the 6.0 LQ9 motor, T-56 and the Ford 9 rear end. My life fell apart that day. One day I'll get another, no other car put a smile on my face like the maro. I want the 1le in red. Enjoy it. Mustangs in my opinion dont compare but they are great.

    I was originally looking for a 2SS but I found an incredible deal on a 2SS 1LE so I pulled the trigger, i've had it since Sept and I still giggle every time I start it up 😂

    I have a 2020 Hot 🔥 Red ZL1 10 speed automatic and drive it everyday ! I love the magnetic ride and the 650 H.P. That was a great video on the Camaro hoping you keep your own Hot 🔥 Red as long as possible ... One of my friends was an ex Mustang owner and bought the same car 🚗 you have and told me he is very impressed with his new Camaro ... Won't be going back to the Mustang anytime soon !

      Red Hot crew 💪 I know other mustang guys that got these and they don't look back. Mustangs great cars but the performance edge is camaro. (And imo looks, comfort, and I prefer the 6.2 torque band over the 5.0s.

    Great video man. I love how you were open and honest about every aspect. I'm trying to decide if I want a 6 gen V8 or not and what package. I do a lot of driving but most is back roads and I want to kill them, I think like you I will go 1LE if I do grab one

    • @Hot-1LE
      @Hot-1LE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much man. It's really hard to beat a 1le for back roads for the price. Go drive one and you'll be sold 😁

    I understand where you’re coming from, but all vehicles are hit and miss. My old 1992 Chevy Blazer 4WD had so many problems, but my 2013 Chevy Camaro ZL1 had only a warranty problem and that’s it. I’m sorry you have to go through that.

    Hey man, thanks for all the great info! Been watching a bunch of your vids. I’m about to order a 2SS... unfortunately I live in an area with a lot of bad side roads near my place. You think I should skip the “performance tuned suspension” package and just order the “magnetic ride control” separately to soften up the ride? Cheers!

    • @Hot-1LE
      @Hot-1LE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks man! Yes on the magna ride and if you got bad roads then the 2ss is probably the way to go. The 1le has mag ride and it does go pretty soft but you won't get away from 285 and 305 size tires and how those feel. If you got no plans for lots of performance driving the 2ss is plenty capable. People still track those as well no issues

    Bro I got a 1LE, after spending time in a combat zone I told my self imma get whatever I want to get as long as I can afford it financially, life is to short I buy what I can afford. We only have 1 life to live and who cares if it’s a 40k car. It’s just money and money is meant to be spent. I invest but I also enjoy myself also. Fuck it bro do what makes you happy!

    Hey I think you have a good insight on this Camaro! Sorry bout you and your gf ! But they’re like cars they come and go ! But your Also taking about 1SS 1LE as if it’s a car you can just simply Cruz In like a Cadillac ! But they are not Cadillacs ! They are muscle cars and they go fast that’s what their built to do ! Go fast and hug them corners like they are on rails !! And if you want bank for your buck you have the option now with the Camaro LT1 ! Which is awesome 😎 ! I have one I know ! Just got my 2022 LT1 Camaro in November! But bro I still love your insight with lots of respect to you not knocking it ! I’m just trying to say we have options with these beasts they call Camaro’s ! I just wish the sales went up so they keep on building them ! But what can you do ? But all in all I really enjoy this video keep up the good work and hopefully you and your gf work things out

    Essentially it's a financial, and material burden at a certain point, because you can get a used ss for like mid 30k or lower depending on the year. It's a sports car. Little to no back seat, less flash and less comfort than alot of other cars. It goes fast people. If you dont get any sports car with that mindset, your screwing yourself.

    Hey man I hope all is well. Good video! I appreciate the perspective. I'm still on the search for the right 1ss 1le, I was wondering how tall you are. I'm 6'3" and was wondering if you're ever bothered by the headspace you have in the camaro. Thanks!

      Thanks bro! I'm 6ft 4 and I still got inches to go. I'm a lankey dude long legs and torso so kinda split and this cars perfect. Infact I can't even buy asian cars anymore because they aren't comfortable. 😅

    If you can't keep the Camaro then consider a used mx5 . Cheap insurance , gas, cost of ownership. And it's a corner carver. Open top fun. Might be exactly what you need being single.

    I'm looking to get into a 1le is it possible to throw a cheaper set of tires on them that you can get at least 30k out of or would it just not work I'm confused

    • @Hot-1LE
      @Hot-1LE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      30k? I mean maybe if you used all seasons and if you can find them in 1le wheel size. Youll lose performance. Most people put pilot sport 4s on them for daily use and can get about 15k out of them.
