- This week we're watching a movie we both knew nothing about but has been requested a lot, "Train To Busan". There have been a lot of movies on the channel that have made Toni cry. There have been a lot of movies on the channel that have scared Toni to the point where she has come out of her seat. This movie did both! This has to be one of the most intense movies we've ever seen and it had us on the edge of our seats right until the very end!

When I saw Toni reaching for the tissue when the grandmother said, "It's a critical time for Su-an too," I knew that this was going to be a *really* tough movie for her.
I seriously started to worry about her at that point
This was a tough one but it was incredible! -Toni
Same! I was like oh girlfriend hold on to those tissues.
"You've got a big storm coming." 😅😊
That's exactly what i was thinking.
I like the ending how she said that she couldn't sing because he wasn't there, and how the dad said that even though she doesn't see him he's there still. So that's why she's able to start singing in the tunnel and therefore saving their lives.
😢😢 So very true.... - Toni 🤗
She remembered when he said “you have to finish what you start” when they were in the car earlier that day
ur such a good explainer man
The baseball player is the son in "Parasite", The lead business guy is the recruiter in "Squid Game" and the big guy is from Marvel Eternals.
😂😂😂😂
The little girl had such... powerful emotions, the screaming. It was as if she had lost her real life dad right infront of her.
And, of course, Gong Yoo is a treasure, as always. The man never misses at all
For some added heartbreak...if you notice the phone when they use it to lure the zombies down the train car, the wallpaper was an ultrasound...the badass dude was so happy to be a dad that he made it so that his child was the first thing he saw whenever he looked at his phone...😭
Oh my, I didn’t notice that!!! I would have cried harder…. - Toni
Never imagined you would cry at a zombie flick, did ya? Did ya? (I cried too, fyi)
What got me was the little girl, through and through. She should receive an OSCAR for her performance! It was almost too realistic!
Very well said. - Toni 😊
oh, absolutely! yeah, you really feel for all the characters, but Su-an really stole the show! she most definitely deserves some kind of high award for her performance. I saw the sequel to this movie, and hoped that she would have been in it, but no, there was an entirely different cast for that one.
A fantastic movie She will jump, laugh, and cry throughout the movie. This is probably the best zombie movie I have ever seen.
I wish someone would have told me about the movie before watching…. 😳 - Toni
Agreed. It absolutely is. Puts you through the wringer, that's for sure! 😳🇬🇧
By far the best! Ive been watching zombies for over 40yrs, it's the best period. I never cried during any zombie movie except this one.
Agree... also, Kingdom was also a great Korean zombie drama, hope you check it out😊
@@taehyungsarmy Ahh... Kingdom, that series is so good !
아이고! ㅠㅠ

I’m very been watching horror films all my 46 years. This is one of my top 10 favorite movies.
This was incredible!
This was the first and only zombie movie that made me cry like a baby.
I hope you guys will watch more S-Korean movie/series because they are fantastic!
You should watch other zombie themed Korean series, you're gonna LOVE them and cry your eyes out if you liked this one
@@sofialuu8162 I will, I've heard a lot about the Kingdom for example.
I just don't feel the mood for them now.
I don't want to become an emotional wreck yet lol
Such an unexpectedly fantastic film. Su-an Kim is amazing. She gave one of the most incredible and real performances I've ever seen.
I'll take Toni's highly emotional and animated reactions over all the reactors that talk or "joke" through the entire film because they aren't really interested in it and only do it for the clicks.
This is a perfect example. Even though Toni wasn't sure she wanted to watch it she still became completely invested. That's a true film fan.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a really amazing movie and brought back the feelings that I need to get in better shape to be able to save my girls in case that were to really happen. - Toni 😊
Hollywood could take notes on how to develop characters in movies from this. The acting was fantastic and the interactions between people was great. I hate zombie movies but l truly enjoyed this.
The Hollywood I know will be desperate to put a black male lead role/villian or white masculine female lead, and then include a gay kiss scene between homos, with zero hetero romantic scene.
Best zombie movie ever!! This is one of the best reactions to it. I love when people get into it and really feel for the characters. That little girl was fantastic!! I cried so much just watching her.
Thank you so much for watching with us and your kind words. I was consumed by the movie and really enjoyed it. - Toni 😊
I am South Korean. Just thank you. You guys are so lovely.
Thank you!
I've been diving into a lot of South Korean movies and shows for the past few years (and some Japanese, Thai, and other Asian films), and I have to say your country does it right, especially supernatural/horror! Some of the best television and cinema I have ever watched! It's sad that so many people can't get past the subtitles, because they are missing an incredible world of entertainment!
The Korean film industry makes some absolutely amazing movies! Probably one of my top 5 if not top 3 zombie movies. Su-an Kim, the little girl, put on an Academy Award performance.
Su-an was incredible in this! Are there any other movies you'd recommend? We're both interested in exploring more Korean cinema!
@@popculturallychallenged I'm told there are lots of good SK movies, but my wife and I have focuesd much more on their "kdramas" instead. They tend to be 12 or 16 episodes, which makes them "really long movies" in a sense. For some fun with "meta jokes" i'd suggest the show called "Goblin." It features the same actor in the lead role and the fun joke is that he goes to see a movie and gets really scared during it.... and of course the movie is Train to Busan ;-)
A rom-com type one that plays around with the tropes of romcoms to wonderful effect is called "A Business Proposal" and it's just good silly fun.
@@popculturallychallenged The original Believer 1 on Netflix is awesome. Netflix just made Believer 2 but just ignore that. It doesn't make sense. The Witch Part 1 and Part 2 are great. The Wailing for horror. For gangster film noire, Night in Paradise. But there are so many awesome K movies that its hard to list. It just depends on what you enjoy.
@@popculturallychallenged Parasite is one that stands out. I haven't seen it personally but I've seen a lot of people really rank this one high
@@popculturallychallenged Parasite is really good it won an oscar. You can also watch Kingdom, it’s zombie series in historical setting.
One of my favorite movies of all time. I figured this would be a hard movie for Toni to get through, nobody gets out of this movie without crying. Congrats for getting all the way to the end, sweetie. 🙂
Aide-mémoire
this movie can make a grown man cry. when I saw the lady cried because of the phone call from the grandma, I knew she is gonna be devastated and cry buckets later on.
Oh gosh Toni is already tearing up in the first 10 mins. If she were to watch a real KDrama, she might not survive all the sadness. 😂
Are there any that you would suggest? Neither of us are familiar with Korean cinema but are interested after this!
@@popculturallychallenged yes! Your introduction should be "Crash Landing on You" it's one of the best Kdramas out there! ❤❤❤
@@popculturallychallenged it has a good balance of drama, romance, sadness, very family wholesome parts, sadness level is next level. You guys will love this drama so much! It's one of my favorites in terms of couples goals. ❤
@@popculturallychallenged YES- try "Miracle in Cell No. 7." The Korean version was BOTH so sad and anger inducing for me... there is also a Turkish version and the sadness overrode the anger in that one for me. Both of those are very tough movies.
Yes. please do either of the ones mentioned above xD
Many reactors ask the same question "Nobody sees this?" when the infected lady walks through the train car.
In both Japanese and Korean cultures, people are used to "minding their own business" so they usually ignore whatever's going on around them, unless it affects them directly. It's considered impolite to look directly at someone, unless that person is actually talking to you.
That makes sense but if someone jumped in behind me, i think i would react to make sure they weren't going to hurt me.... - Toni 😳
@@popculturallychallenged True, but if you remember, some passengers DID see the infected lady but didn't react the way Westerners would have. Even when the baseball players saw her with the train lady, it took them a long time to react.
This Asian attitude has a lot to do with "courtesy" and "privacy" and respect for one's space.
The first Korean movie was “Train to Busan”... So hard!
For the next Korean movie, I would like to recommend a very interesting one.
EXTREAM JOB(2019)
I hope you laugh like crazy and have fun!🤣🤣
Thank you for the recommendation. I have added it to our list. - Toni 🤓
I am the world's worst about watching a movie with subtitles ...i just cant get into them...this one it didnt matter i was stuck in it from beginning to end...the South Koreans really know how to make a good movie
I agree. They hooked me and kept me interested. - Toni 😊
What I liked the most the two fathers when bitten knew what they had to do to save the others.
A movie I watched at the cinema, but I still can't forget it. Great reaction. Thank you! 🤗
This was SUCH a tense movie!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, and then I cried uncontrollably at the end. The whole cast knocked it out of the park. I'm so glad you watched it!
Agreed! This was an incredible movie!
finally i found my soulmate!! someone who cries as easily as i do !! I CRIED WAYY TOO MUCH WATCHING U CRY in scenes i ddnt even cry in!!! u r so precious
Thank you for watching with us. I'm glad I'm not alone..... If you ever need a crying partner let me know. 😂 - Toni 😊🤗🤭
@@popculturallychallenged would be great 😂🥰🥰
The girl’s reaction is so real.. this movie gets me every part a tear is shed 😔
As we all expected.. haha
This film really make everyone Crying..
This film makes me cry no matter how many times I see it, or how many reactions I see.
The movie isn't truly about zombies, it's about people and the human condition. How, in the worst of times, some of us become selfish and violent and selfserving, while some others will always rise up to the occasion with bravery and empathy, with mercy. And like Sandhwa said, it's about sacrifice, what we're willing to do for others.
The thing is, it's easy to judge from our POV as the viewers, but who knows if the day comes of a calamity such as this, I mean we already saw how some people were during covid, how we will act. Fear is an incredible weapon, and fear will frequently, if not often, turn us into monsters. Who's to say we're so far removed from the COO guy.
I like to believe I would be like Ma Dongseok's character Sanghwa, the big guy in the blue coat, brave and kind in his roughness, or like Suan.
Great reaction!
Just found this channel during a Train to Busan reaction binge and as soon as Toni brought out the tissues during the scene with Su-An's grandma turning, I knew I needed to subscribe. I love the emotion and how Toni felt so much for the characters. So excited to see y'all react to other stuff
to me South Korea makes the best movies...you should definitively watch more....their thrillers are absolutely superb!
It takes both really good writing and acting to make you so emotionally attached in such a short amount of time to bring you to tears with a ZOMBIE MOVIE. This film is a masterpiece. You can tell how much love and dedication was put into it.
Your faces before and after the movie show what an emotional rollercoaster yous just went thru.. 1 of the best movies of all time. ❤
The ending of this movie gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME ... I sob and cry and tear up just watching the clips of it on reactor channels! We all knew Toni wasn't going to get out of this one without a box of tissues.
HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO OUR POOR PRECIOUS ANGEL I CAN’T EVEN BELIEVE THE EVIL 🤣
And omfg I am salivating to watch lmao
That's the first thought I had!!! Nooooooo....the poor sweetie!
😂😂😂 I hope you enjoy what I went thru! 😳 - Toni ( I can’t stop laughing at the comment )
It is everything I could have possibly hoped for. That solidifies my evil is strong lmao
I love this woman hahaha watching movies with her must be a blast
When he's in the bathroom crying it's not that he was bit, but actually him internalizing the information he was just given. His assistant from the beginning (Kim) called and said the outbreak came from some tech company that was the "centerpiece of their plan". This is letting him know that the dying animals and bad news articles on the computer were related, and the zombie virus is from the same company he pulled funding from the day before. If he had continued to fund the company they would have had the money to properly contain and dispose of the virus without it spreading to more towns, but he pulled the funding to make his boss happy and other investors/companies saw this and pulled their funds as well. The scene is extremely impactful because our main character is hunched over a sink crying as he washes the blood from his hands, both literally and metaphorically.
Another movie I think you guys would like is Before I Wake. It's an amazing story that I would recommend also watching without knowing anything at first.
I was thrilled to see this on The Last Drive-In. If Joe Bob says you should be teary eyed at the end, you should be weeping. Best blend of human drama and fast paced Zombie horror I've ever seen.
Glad you guys enjoyed it.
When "Parasite" was in the theaters, TH-cam recommended "Train to Busan." I had seen other South Korean movies, so I thought I was ready. The roller coaster ride through Fear/Dread/Sorrow left me emotionally drained. Kudos to the writer(s), director(s), actors, and especially the stunt performers for creating a Modern Classic. I'll bet that you won't view a performance of "Aloha 'Oe" in the same way after this movie.
A lot of people have commented on closing the train doors - most commuter trains that I've been on like that have automatic doors so it's not easy to close it (You see it when the girl that was bitten opens the door and it automatically closes on its own. I think with that mechanism it won't allow you to make it close any faster unless you set it to manual like the dad did to shut it on the guy and his pregnant wife).
And also in a panicked situation most people would not think to try and close the door behind them as they are running for their lives so it's a bit of human nature at play. In a chaotic situation I've seen people run and almost get hit by traffic because they're not focused on the obvious.
Sometimes, too, the doors on trains are actually pretty difficult to open/close quickly. They require a bit of effort. So a mob of infected rushing at you wouldn't give you enough time to attempt to close it and it was a better idea to just continue on moving forward as fast as possible until safe to close the door.
I've watched every single reaction to this movie and no matter what I'm always emotionally exhausted
Once people get over that small wall of subtitles, the world of possibilities opens up for amazing film and TV series 😌 I'm the type that needs subtitles even when watching shows and movies in English 😅 I'm glad you enjoyed this, there are a lot of interesting Korean zombie movies/shows. 🧟♀️ 🧟♂️
It was a bit hard to watch since it brought some me lots of kind of fear and now I'm worried that I wouldn't be able to save my girls if something like this happened but it was definitely a must see movie. I am willing to watch more. - Toni 😊
I fully understand, I've never considered it from the view of parents so I could feel your sincere reaction, and it was a nice change of pace 😊 ☺️
When movie makes you shed tears then you know this is a true art. There is nothing else makes us humans like tears. That means we have Souls.
One of the best tear jerkers out there.
No trivia for foreign language movies. I also hope that it is subbed, not dubbed.
Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍
We both went into this one completely blind and it was intense. It's subbed. I actually didn't know it was subbed until we started the movie. lol -David
19:35 "oh sh*t! oh sh*t! go go go go go!" -david 😮
😂
Great reaction!
Korean movies and Kdramas are gems, I hope this is the moment to try and react to more next time. I also recommend "Miracle Cell No. 7" another K-Movie masterpiece 😊
Thank you for watching with us. Someone else also recommended the movie, looking forward to it. We added it to our list. - Toni 😊
Hands down best zombie movie ever, imo.
I haven't seen many but this one was a good one to get me off the couch. - Toni 😂
in terms of tension, draining emotions and tears, and all the characters have the same strong story, this is why the film Train To Busan is the best zombie film I have ever watched
this film and The Witch: the subversion. are my two favorite Korean films. this launched the male lead in it to international stardom and from what I know he was already a big name. but the witch. was the female leads first big role and it literally jump started her career. the range she hit in that film really showed her talent.
Koreans sure do know how to pull on them heart strings I think that is what they are the best at and the scary part are just extra good.
I am so excited for this reaction!
Hope you enjoy it! :)
That lady is so expressive enjoyed it so much !!
Thank you. - Toni 😊
My famous last words “uhhhhh Pg13 it can’t be that bad” I sobbed throughout the movie 😂😂
You cried just like me when I watched it for the first time 😂
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one…. - Toni 😊
OMG, I saw this pop up in my feed and knew there was going to be a flood of tears. Toni, my friend, a pre-emptive apology. We know the pain.
I love these reactions I love that Toni lets her emotions out it’s fun to watch she really cares about everyone in these movies you all watch it’s nice to see!!

Return of the Living Dead (1985)
Is the best Zombie movie ever.
Oooh boy. Get ready.

Oh, and sub is definitely better than dub with this one.
It's a marvellous rollercoaster of emotions.
When I saw Toni cry in the beginning...I worried about you..not gonna lie...this is a hard one to watch. Its such an amazing film and really hits your heart.
"Close the door...close the door"...YES...all through the movie that is the biggest comment lol..CLOSE THE DOOR!

Thank God you didn't watch the dubbed version! The crying of the little girl in the english dub is laighable at best. The original actor gave her everything in that scene and it is the most hearbreaking part of the entire movie.
I was so consumed by the movie that I forgot the little girl was just acting. She was amazing!!! - Toni 😊
