Why not do both? Have smaller explosive projectiles that come off of a main one. So a large kinetic project surrounded by smaller explosive ones that detach.

reminds me of doom or the tesla gun from FO4
That's not a rail gun, that's a gravity enforcer!
If you place the camera directly above the magazine and build a ring on the bow just large enough for the slug to speed thru, you could just place the ship you want to shoot in the middle of that ring and it would be trivially easy to aim. Not much of a sniper boat without a sight.
I was just using this last night, absolutely badass!
Would it be possible to build a tractor beam to pull in ships, then two walls of grinders close in and shred the ship?
I’m thinking an artificial mass block on a ship as a BSG style launch tube.... Or at least an escape or drop pod.
That is possible. Been there, done that for both.
Really beautiful design.
"The BFG10000 is firing."
This reminds me of my gateship, interesting design. The gateship has an interdimensional gate built into its center like this
should of put a camera right where it shoots out from to help with aiming maybe?
Isn't it possible to launch not only projectiles but ships with this vessel?
prototype railgun about to fire! cover yourselves!! "shoots a literal fucking refridgerator"
That is a beautiful ship.
woulda been more "effective" had u hit the target instead of grazing it.
2 years later and we got an actual official railgun
reminds me of the sapce station orbital strike cannon also using gravity generators to launch the projectile
This ship kind of makes me think of the Titan's from Stellaris. By itself it can't do much but shoot at you from the other side of a solar system, because all it is is a really big gun. But it really shines when it's part of a fleet mixed in with Destroyers for artillery and cruisers and/or corvettes to act as screening ships.
Have this pre-ordered for xbox. Cannot wait to play this tomorrow. Your videos are awesome, so I'll be looking to your channel for explanation and ideas!
XxFusionsk8rxX Been playing since the beginning and cant wait to play on a hack free console.
@@lostmartyr6828 is PC full of hackers?? I mean sorta not a surprise but still is kinda. Also if this means you'll be on console, I'd be down to play together with someone who knows how the game works and such.
XxFusionsk8rxX friend me on xbox live. ArcInFusIon. I can use some team mates. You will need them. Im a really good guy to know. I practically wrote a strategy book on this game and played since the beginning.
Its very rough, unforgiving, and discouraging in the beginning. But in time.. alot of time.. we can have a huge mega base with a faction under us dominating a planet.
But its not like any other game. You will be doing engineering and welding most of the time in a hangar in a base just people hanging out listening to music smokin weed and stuff. Battles are rare but a big deal when they happen because some loses a year of work and the power shifts.
So if you wanna get into it ya I recommend hitting me up. Otherwise when servers come out you will start building for a month after a month planning and get shredded by pirates and bad guy factions so knowing where to step will help you.
XxFusionsk8rxX and people dont hack much on space engineers, they solved that by giving out creative mode. But about everybody on every other PC game is using bots and cheats. Thats why I just play console or single player PC games.
May I know how he can repeat build that block to fire
I'd like to know if Bentusi from Homeworld erie are good abou this... xD

That's a Flying Buttress!
What if you used a cargo container with stone inside it. The warhead would detonate before hitting the target causing the stone to go through the ship.
Stone used to be a good weapon but it's been patched out stone and other similar items no longer cause damage when they hit blocks so that won't work.
@@Tru3Spart3n dang. I've been gone for that long huh?
@@dalton5160 yea it happens. I think lots of people go through cycles of playing everyday for months and then not playing at all for equally ridiculous times
@@Tru3Spart3n yeah it's mostly because I am not good at designing starships.
@@dalton5160 I think that's a good portion of the fun. If you're not good with your own ideas use other ships as a template just find cool looking ships and take the features you like about those ships and add them into your own. Then when you have a ship that you kinda like use it for a bit test it find its weak points and the portions you're not satisfied with and rebuild the ship again with those problems in mind and fix them. Eventually you will have personalized ships that you built and tht you'll love.
in todays space engineers this ship would be amazing
Now this can be upgraded with actual railguns 😆
Tips for making it deadlier:
1: replace the block thingies with explosives or add a warhead
2: make it launch cluster missiles
3: make it launch the Terminal Gravity Acceleration Weapon? (TGAW) that he made or hust make it so that he can shoot spess rocks (1d4chan humor) at the enemy at HIGH speed
OMG this game is still alive hell yeah
There was also a model for the Baltic sea anomaly thingamabob.
Looks more like a coilgun than a railgun, but still looks very interesting and could be promising. Maybe he just has to increase the speed of the projectile a bit.
Makes me wonder. Could you script the projectiles to be owned by space pirates so that when they get close they don’t get targeted by point defense and there’s nothing they can do
ITS SO PREEETYY, I mean cool. Yeah
Pretty cool, can see what you mean about aiming though. Needs a camera placed somewhere to get a better angle, or for the arms to be extended so that they can be used a cross-hair.
I’ve been watching you over the years even when I was younger, your gave that you have been working so hard on has came so far!
With virtual reality, your game has many opportunities to come
2:22 "Really nice detailed looking $#!+"
This guy is just Callums Corner Gaming
i have just 1 question, was this made with mods?
I think the cannon is for really long range damage to stationary targets like base's or Capital ships. Imagine being 5km away from a target and hitting it over and over again.
It is a shit as gravity weapon. But it look damn cool!
I love the bridge, but i was expecting for derp gun (1shot kill_ kv2 ways) since its look like a destroyer type
You see a Railgun ship. I see a Rolex.
I've got a mod that limits speed at 500 000, but use MASSIVE projectiles for orbital bombardment, and have a rail accelerator for a massive decoy field around my construction ship
