The antenna in the front and back look similar to the homeworld 2 capital ships, looks very clean and reminds me alot of the homeworld 2 capital ships.
@@Matryoshkandroid Seriously, if players of games like these were sent back in time and given charge of what ships got built, the Battle of Jutland would have been fought between a small handful of pre-dreadnought battleships, MAYBE one or two actually new super-dreadnoughts/BBs, and a two MASSIVE swarms of hyper-innovative and streamlined destroyers and frigates with all kinds of effective, if sometimes gimmicky, designs. Oh, and Fleet Submarines would be a thing too.
It's incredibly impressive that Armadillo Industries managed to create an entire ship from a single image from a single event in a sci-fi survival city builder, It makes me wonder whether they're working on making a Tiqqun/Protagoras inspired ship, or even the Entetmenakni or Piranesi
The Piranesi would be freaking amazing. Of course the Tiqun would also be awesome but gosh dang. Running from the Piranesi in the game is definitely a video game moment that'll stick with me forever.
scale-wise, btw, this thing is actually still not 1:1 with the version in Ixion. In Ixion the carrier is actually split into several gargantuan chunks which you can explore to complete your objectives. But the size of this thing really cannot be appreciated, even with this mockup in SE. It's commonly described as dwarfing the Tiqqun (your own ship), which in and of itself can store thousands of people in itself, and is one giant rotating ring.
Ixion is a high-quality game that really leads the player through a detailed story, that I was pretty surprised how good it actually ended up being. It’s basically a city-builder/RTS and it a bit limiting, but otherwise is quite entertaining and it takes half a day to finish the story. Would definitely recommend taking a look at it.
I downloaded this one from the workshop yesterday. I've wandered through so many impressive builds looking for inspiration or just being envious of others imagination but this one is something else. To have this much detail on a ship of this size is amazing!
I have a ship I've been working on for a looooooooong time. But I'm also on Xbox. So I have to avoid scripts and have stricter limitations. However, this ship is broken into 5 separate blueprints, Rear, middle back, middle middle front and front. I have it designed so the rear houses the many thrusters and nearly 50 large reactors, the middle back houses the resource production, crafting, cryo baysand storage. The middle holds all the gunnery compartments. the middle front houses the "marketplace" (kinda like a massive common area for rp server functions), crew compartments which have 28 individual rooms, captains quarters, XOs quarters, and a large crew room which can hold another 20 players. The front houses the medbay, the control bridge and the hyperdrive maintenance room. It's capable of flying with 4 capital class ships attached and has a hangar capable of holding 10 destroyers, 10 dropships/gunships, and 30 fighters/interceptors. The main battery consists of 50 large railguns. There's several places for turrets, since I almost always play with the battle cannons mod which has some nutty turrets. All in all, it's well over 600,000 pcu and over 150,000 blocks. I have never been able to complete it as I haven't found a server capable of withstanding it. 😅 Maybe one day tho!

tbh it doesn't feel like a warship and more like a support ship, as it can't really launch fighters quickly and has little in the way of armaments but looks like it'd be the flagship/supply transport in fleets (i don't pay SE tho so i don't actually know)

I was tired of designing 10 different cruisers and Light cruisers for specific roles, so i started to bild a ground Skeleton frame with engineering, some weapons, CIC and a Hangar. The rest comes with removable modules, guided ship missile bays, weapon batteries, extra hangar bays or anti fighter weapon batteries. 3 ship classes, hundreds of options for your loadout. I just have to cover the docking points and the way how to fit them safely into their slot in the the ship.
Official servers exist and the DLC makes up most of the funding for them Not to mention you can get the game and all DLC for about £25 if you wait for the right sale or buy them over the span of a few sales
Imagine if you could make that ring sort of shift and lock into different spots along the ring itself. Wouldn't serve much purpose but would be cool. Could be used to look directly down into the frigate holding area if need be and then lowered back down into a sort of battle region. I feel like setting something like that up would be insanely hard and jank though.
I checked this out and this thing is f*ckn awsome. Had a big frame rate drop but it was worth it. Now if he could scale it down "somehow" it would make a great mobile base
Currently working on a Battleship class vessel at the moment that’s about 1/3 finished but has 53,786 blocks atm. Wonder how the block count compares to this. (Survival ready)
Hope its got a robust shield system, cause one or two missiles would be enough to gut this thing if it hit dead in the middle. It looks nice, but is poorly designed structurally.

I abslutely do not remember there being a UN space carrier that looked like this in Ixion.

As an IXION enjoyer, its nice to see that people make those ships, now all we need is the tiqqun
I recognized it right at the start of the video as being from IXION as despite only seeing it once as a wreak it is kind of memorable.
That giant ring is the only thing keeping both sides together. One dedicated and stealthy saboteur/salvager could cut it in half.
