It's still so weird how long this band was kinda underrated for years. His voice is a amazing. Our country is a small one but this band is one of the reasons I'm proud to be born in Finland. And I'm glad to see how many fans they have got in couple of years. Keep it up !!!
I may not be Finnish, but I definitely agree that this band is seriously underrated. I was introduced to this band by the game Alan Wake. After playing that game, I went on and had to listen to more of these guys' music, and now I am a lifelong fan.

PotF is not underrated at all - they just aren't well known, worldwide, for some very strange reason. But for those of us who do know of them they rank up near the top of the list.

His vocal texture is just out of this world. Also the music is so damn good. Those jupiter sounds and 808 drums are so 80s. Overall a very classy and well produced song. My new favourite.

I was just introduced to POTF this past week with Carnival of Rust and Herald of Darkness by my young brother. I thought Herald would be my all time favorite, but as I went down the rabbit hole, this song hasn't escaped my mind since I first heard it. I heard the acoustic version first, then this one. I have a feeling that, without a doubt, when I have gone through all their music, The Sweet Escape will be my number 1 favorite. It's so soulful, beautiful, meaningful, loving, gentle, tender, and powerful all at the same time. It makes me feel safe, loved, and empowered. How do they do it? Poets of the Fall, you boys have a talent and power that I am just discovering, and I cannot wait to have your music embedded in my life. Thanks for existing ♥
P.S. I am half way done with the fourth album. Can't wait to get to the rest.

How is this band not huge, they're songs are so epic, so emotional. A lot better than the garbage that does top the charts.
They are Finnish and have minimal exposure in North America....which is criminal.

Their songs are complicated for common people. If you check out the ones who go viral, they have basic vocabularies and very basic songs. And of course the marketing of European bands are not good or not allowed in the US. The "my dark disquiet" went viral tho , thanks to gamers.

Jaska's beautiful jazz guitar sound throughout is wonderful! I wish the studio version had that. Now I'm hooked too much on the music video version. And always, Marko captivates with that beautiful voice. The song has an '80s vibe to it. This could easily have been at home featured in an episode of Miami Vice. Can't get enough of these guys!

Im getting old now. And somehow throughout life trays and mistakes I found myself utterly alone. And by the look of it, this is going to be it for me.
Im tough, I understand its just life. And many have it far worst. Im not complaining.
But sometimes I do feel need of outburst of true emotions. After all we all have our own weaknesses.
Throughout this music, I selfishly find myself loved and manage to quench that emotional emptiness and destructive apathy that fills my thoughts.
And for that alone. I thank you form the bottom of my hearth.

When I first heard this song, I was so hopeless, I wished from the bottom of my heart that 1. I ever get this feeling, 2. I ever get out of the hell place I've lived in and escape to somewhere else.
The video of him walking on some European street, and talking about devotion, made me wish that sometime I can be as safe and sound.
Now, I did escape the shithole I was in, I'm living a better life in Ireland, I met my true love, and I WAS JUST AT THEIR CONCERT IN DUBLIN TWO DAYS AGO!
