    This was an unexpected punch in the feels.
    My wife died June 3rd, 2017, of cancer. I sang Fragile to her as she died -- we were going to use that as our dance for our wedding ceremony.
    This.. This really hit me.
    Thank you. So very, very much.

    This song literally came out at the perfect time in my life. I met the most amazing woman this summer. We fell for each other so quick. She was only here for a short time. Her Visa expired a week ago and she returned home. I drove her down to NYC so she could catch her flight home to Bosnia... the night before she left, we visited times square at 3 AM. There was a guy standing there with a big speaker preforming his rap songs. I walked over to him, slipped him a twenty and asked if I could plug my phone into it for one song... I played this. I grabbed her by the hand... and we danced to this song... I just started tearing up when I wrote that line... I miss her so much.

      Authors and poets are the ones that truly write the masterpieces of this world. For example, Freddie Mercury. And they always die far too early. Finnish poets Eino Leino, Yrjö Jylhä and Lauri Viita... all passed barely in their 50s.

    The Poets truly understand the majesty and beauty that resides within love and acceptance. So many poignant and amazing messages put forth here.
    I also believe the leading man is indeed the older gentleman crying in the "Love Will Come To You" video.
    The fact that they appear to be in an amusement park or carnival leads me to think that this song is thematically opposite to "Carnival of Rust." That song heavily dealt with the love of material possessions over true human connection under a palette of washed out colours representing a loss of passion. Here however there is a sense of vibrancy and bright colour everywhere. So brilliant!

    • @chiffmonkey
      @chiffmonkey 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      "It's all a game, avoiding failure, when true colours will bleed." - CoR, "Her clashes of colours are flashes of society in ashes." - The Game, "Passion Colours Everything", CoR video has a token at the end "Cor Cordis", the tin can game they're playing is called "Break for Freedom" in CoR - a foreshadowing of "Revolution Roulette" in the same way that "House of Dusk" is a foreshadowing of "Twilight Theater". Also the bit with the wine glass seems to be a reference to Daze.

    Absolutely love this song. Up until a few months ago, I had no clue they even existed, then they popped up as a suggestion, so I gave them a listen. I was going through a rough time, seeing how my wife had just left me, taking our two kids with her. I had hit rock bottom and needed any little bit of hope and comfort I could find. Poets Of The Fall helped me in a way that no other band has. I could feel the passion and love in their music, and it brought me a fair share of comfort. Things worked out in the end and now I have my family back. Not saying the Poets are the reason for it, but their music sure helped me keep my hopes up and make it through the darkest hour of my life. Forever a fan.

      +Lauren Richards-Evans NO! Oh, no no no, absolutely not. My problem isn't with their diversity in music.
      Allow me to quote another of my posts:
      "It's always been so difficult to find a band that sounds anything like them. I've even looked on Google to see, and the closest people say to them are bands like Breaking Benjamin and Linkin Park. But, those bands are nowhere close to sounding like POTF.
      But, now..... the music that I've been hearing from you..... it just sounds like generic indie background music. It doesn't seem to hold the same level depth that are abundant in all your previous works."
      I enjoy the music video, and the message, but the sound just doesn't hold the same punch. It pains me to say, but this song sounds worse than any of the songs on their Clearview album. Which is my least favorite album, not saying that it's bad.

      I just hope there will be more prominent guitar and some memorable riffs in the rest of the album. It's not that it's not "rock" but that it feels like it wants to be in the radio for casuals to listen and maybe discover poets. Song is good. But I would be really disappointed if they completely pushed the guitars into the background just for the pop sound. And by the way Olli is very skilled guitarist maybe his track Firefly is way of coping with the band going into that direction that has very little of guitar.

    • @BigFry9591
      @BigFry9591 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There songs were always equalized and compressed all to hell? There vocals were always pushed back and had less attention? Hell, I don't recall even a single guitar solo in their last album.
      Ever since Clearview, there HAS been a decline in their quality. And, as for this new song, it sounds like so generic that it hurts. You could easily turn on the radio and hear something similar. Which, is something that you can't say about their past songs.

      @BigFry9591 There hasn't been a decline in quality, you just don't like it. You not liking something doesn't make it bad. The song is perfectly up to their usual quality it's simply a matter that the band wants to aim for a different style with their recent albums just like they always have. They are like a painter who wants to use a different color. And just because someone else may have used that color doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to use it as well.

    Очень люблю Poets Of The Fall и очень обидно, что о них мало кто знает. Ведь это шикарная группа с очень хорошими, наполненным смыслом, песни и группа с прекрасным вокалистом, от голоса которого бегут мурашки по телу.
    Песня прекрасная, но пока в моем сердечке пьедестал самой любимой песни занимает песня "Carnival of rust".
    .
    .
    I love Poets Of The Fall very much and it's very sad that many people don't know about them. After all, this is a beautiful band with very good songs, and a band with a wonderful vocalist, whose voice runs down the body.
    The song is beautiful, but while in my heart the pedestal of the most beloved song is the song "Carnival of rust".
    Thanks for your works.
