    Bands and artists have always been the master of the stage. They hold the power over the audience. They also hold the power to stop the show, if something goes wrong. Here is a small list of just some bands and artists, who have stopped their shows to help fans are hurt, injured, or in distress.

      Kurt was chill all the time and was willing to talk or hangout with anyone as long as he knew that you had been respectful to people he knew. But if the person had been a jerk, a-hole, or douche to anyone, and he had heard about it or seen it himself, he said it like it was and didn't want to be associated at all with them.
      Obviously, not 1st hand knowledge, but 2 of my former coworkers were roadies for west coast bands.

      @zafarsyed6437 Yeah Kurt was a self-proclaimed feminist when he was still alive because of his first girlfriend, Tobi Vail - lead singer of the riot grrrl band Bikini Kill, was a hardcore feminist herself and Kurt pretty much adopted her ethos as they were dating and it stuck with him long after they split.
      Kurt, and Billie Joe Armstrong actually. Billie had a similar introduction to feminism through his first girlfriend as Kurt did with Tobi.
      As for Pearl Jam, I don't remember the exact details of the story, but didn't Eddie Vedder write "Pro - Choice" down the length of his arm as a sign of support of Women's Rights before or during a concert, and ended up catching heat for it was either because the state the band was performing in was notoriously anti-choice (or it was the state's legislation or the USA's legislation was discussing the overturning of Roe v Wade back around '94/'95)? I could definitely be wrong, I was far too young at the time to really be aware of what was going on, but I swear I thought it was something that had happened.

Layne Staley invited the Nazi onto the stage, helping him up, and sucker-punched him in the side of the head, followed by a slap, causing the Nazi to stumble and fall back into the crowd. WITHIN A SECOND, the entire crowd around us basically played the fastest game of telephone ever, they split, some really big, broad, bald guy walks over, picks both of us up with one arm eac, drags us out the pit and goes "you guys good" , "yeah", "yeah", "well then get back in there and have some fun!" and just pushes us right back in.

    One of the most memorable moments missing here is the 1000. concert of the german punk rock band "Die Toten Hosen" back in 1997 in Düsseldorf, Germany. About 45 minutes into the concert the band left the stage and were informed that a 16 year old dutch girl named Rieke Lax was involved in a crowd crush in the front row and had died due to her injuries and others have been injured. The chief of the fire deparment urged the band to continue with the concert to prevent a mass panic. The band came back and continued with the concert but it was clear something must have happend, but nobody really knew what. After the concert the band did not play a concert for 2 years and was on the brink of splitting up. As far as I read they went to the grave of the girl together with her family a few days after the burial and are even today in close contact with her family. They continued as a band and wrote the song "Alles ist eins" (everything is one) in her mermory. Last year Die Toten Hosen did their 40th anniversary tour. They still tour today and they always stop the concerts when they see that someone falls down. The Band was once asked by a jounalist, what was the high point and the low point of their carrer and the guitarist said to both their 1000. concert. I can't imagine how that felt to them...

    I was at a Type O Negative and Coal Chamber concert that got pretty wild. I remember seeing a girl who'd passed out getting crowd surfed to the edges. I went down on one knee at one point and had a random dude reach down and give me a hand up. It was a hell of a concert, and good to know people were watching out for one another.
    Just makes the Astroworld thing even crazier.

    This is one from Rick Astley and I never thought he would react like this. He definitely means business. He stops mid song and calls for "a lot of security" to a certain spot because people were fighting. The way he shouts at the person was definitely not what I would have expected from someone usually so mild mannered. Once dealt with, he just lobs back in to the song and continues. th-cam.com/video/K_WzDuxv3W8/w-d-xo.html

      Thanks for that! That is a textbook example of how to handle a problem in the crowd. Stopped the music, pointed to problem out to security. Kept the energy as calm as possible until the issue was resolved. Reassured the crowd. Continued on with the show once it was clear the issue was resolved. Class act!

    • @briang530
      @briang530 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Believe it or not decades ago parents used to let their younger teenaged kids go out and find their own way and make mistakes. I grew up in mosh pits, and this music scene actually really looked after young fans.

    • @zombieedrea
      @zombieedrea ปีที่แล้ว +63

      @@briang530 Bro, that kid wasn’t a teenager, he looked 9 years old at the most, and was crying so he was clearly freaked out. In this video it talks about a girl literally dying from being crushed. Young kids should definitely go to rock shows, but they shouldn’t be anywhere near the pit if they’re that small. That’s dangerous and straight-up negligent on the parent’s part.

    In '93 Midnight Oil were performing at a concert in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada, (along with several other bands, the Oils were one of the first few bands to play) when Peter Garrett noticed a couple of guys in the audience punching other concert goers for no reason whatsoever. He stopped his band in mid song in order to berrate the offenders, then instructed the crowd to form a corridor towards the exit and told the the two guys to leave, adding that Midnight Oil would personally refund them their admission cost. As they were leaving Garrett then had stop some other audience members whe threw some punches at the guys as they were leaving. The crowd went nuts with appreciation for the Oils' efforts and the whole vibe of the crowd ramped up several notches for the rest of the gig. Epic

First day was extremely hot, and I'd been there all day, end of the night during Korn's show I passed out, they stopped the show and made sure I got help. Security got me some water, and let chill in some air con, plus upgraded me for the full show for free as asked by Jonathan Davis. Was able to do the rest of the weekend fine and see all the other stuff.

    U2 at Live Aid has got to be the most legendary incident of this. Mid-song, a woman was getting crushed down the front, so Bono jumped down off the stage and told them to bring her over the barrier. He gave her a hug and a kiss, and then went back to singing, but they never stopped playing. I usually thing he's a pompous twat, but he came out of that looking saintly.
