I've lived in Toyama since I was a child. Whenever it snows in the winter, I have to get up early to clear the snow, so I know how hard it is for you. Please be careful not to catch a cold.
Thats a lot of snow for a first load and yes huge flakes but oh so beautiful! Don’t break your back, have a cup of nice tea and sit by your window and enjoy your house! With all the craziness going on over here in North America your videos are an oasis of peace and tranquility!❤️
It looks so magical in the park😇 Thank you for caring for your neighbors yard, too! You are so kind and thoughtful! I love the neighborhood concept for all the things that happen there. Everyone contributes and no one is alone really. I hope you will make skiing tour videos over the winter. It will be nice to experience as I live in a tropical climate. We don’t get snow here. Thank you for sharing snow day with us❄️☃️
Hauntingly beautiful, but my 67 year old back couldn't take all that shoveling. Brings back lovely memories of my times in Matsumoto, Ōmachi City and some beautiful onsen/ski resorts in Niigata prefecture. Snow up to the rooflines, and KILLER (literally) icicles ...
I hear you! Clearing that much snow can be a workout for sure. It’s crazy to think there are people around my neighborhood in their 80s and 90s shoveling snow. I need to eat what they eat 😂
Meanwhile in Kagoshima it was 16C yesterday. That's more snow already than we ever get in Kagoshima. We have to go into the mountains of Kirishima to potentially see snow like that... but it doesn't last long.
Man, the joy on your face when you walked through that little park and even after all the shoveling... This is the sort of simple happiness that you feel in your soul, I think. Just soaking in the moment and appreciating the humble beauty of your surroundings. Aweome video! All the best from Germany, mate!
Thank you so much Patrick! Living in countryside Japan (not only Myoko but other locations) is one of those setting that really supports slowing down and appreciating the little things. Sounds cliche. Add more extreme weather like this snow, and I think it gives you no choice but to focus on the present and take care of the now
It's astonishing just how much snow falls there in one night. Where I live we generally get a foot (~30cm) of snow over a few days at most. Wish is snowed a bit more lol.
Was that person at the end of the video driving a delivery scooter? I wonder if they have studded tires to be able to drive in the winter. Here, in Winterpeg, we give up on the two wheeled vehicles in Winter.
When driving on snowy roads, please drive slowly and leave as much distance as possible between you and the car in front of you. It feels like you are driving on ruts instead of a smooth road.
We had a good size, once in a decade snow storm in Shiga two winters ago that was like this. But that was the peak of the winter, not the beginning.....
Do you use Pow Board's(harness free) at all Can see the two nice boards in the background but I'd be surprised if you didn't as the sport started there
I have used them but don’t own them. I really love snowboarding and whenever I get out I get fomo if I don’t take my powder boards. I actually used to ski as well but my love of snowboarding took over
The joys of being a TH-camr, eh. Have your own schedule and enjoy your life when ever you can. While I’m still stuck in the rat race here in Japan that controls my schedule. I’m so tired of it and want out badly.
I lived the 9-7 work like for a long time and wanted to change. Saying that, during my life as a TH-camr / content creator, I’ve never spent so much time “working” round the clock 24/7. It’s not quite as easy as it seems but I’m enjoying the new lifestyle
Put on a harness, climb up the fixed ladders, clip on the fixed safety points and start shovelling. We wait to get a solid base so it’s safer to walk on
It’s surprising how quiet the heavy equipment is, and no backup beeping alarm. Those are the bane of my existence!!!! In the US, NO ONE would care about disturbing the neighborhood and waking people up. Most people focus on big issues, my number one political goal is a nationwide ban on backup beeping alarms for vehicles
I was stationed in Okinawa for 2 years, so I never got a chance to experiance this type of snow in Japan. Matt, are snow blowers allowed in your neighborhood? Figured it may come in handy over a shovel.
I’m not sure if you saw the video. The community works with the government to remove the snow. There was a giant yellow machine in the video. When they drive around the neighborhood we put snow near the side of road so they can remove it to the snow piles
I would be in heaven with all of that snow. Japan is beautiful and the snow just adds to it.
I love how silent the world is when it snows like that!

The snowfall is absolutely beautiful & you’re a good neighbor & a good man!
Got woken up by the snow clearing to watch a video about snow clearing. Haha
Our lives are not so different 😂

New scenery is here! ❄️:)
Matt's always happy 😊

Your videos are super cozy.
Thank you! I aim for a combination of easy watching, genuine, and educational when possible :)

Very soothing, relaxing scene. It reminds me of Tottori where I grew up.
Even the snowflakes look like the ones under a magnifying glass as they fall out of the sky
Looks stunning all the snow
I am so jealous here’s for a cup of hot cocoa
Thank you!! So grateful!! ☕️ 🍫:)
Looks like a movie. So peaceful
Thanks!
Thank you!! 🙏
So nice of you to clear out your neighbor's driveway!
man it's so beautiful
Wow! That is so much snow! ❄️❄️❄️
Day 1 of the season 😅😂
Your so lucky! You really need full size snowshoes
Everything melted here in Ontario after the first day of skiing
You should use that old Japanese style scoop that was in your garage much easier on the back
I switch it up. Like owning multiple cars. I take each for a spin on different days of the week
Thanks
Thank you! 🙏 really appreciate it!!
Looks so pretty and idyllic
First snow ❄️❄️❄️
A good start to the ski season in Myoko :)
I get on a plane in Brisbane in 5 days and land in Osaka. 30 days holiday - half of it will be skiing. I can’t wait.

Wow! That pond view was awesome! 12:35
So beautiful 😮😍
that is such a nice place to live during the winter ❄️
I honestly hate snow and winter but this town covered in snow is so quaint and cozy
Hi Matt I really enjoy your videos
That you!! Appreciate the comment!!
Hi just watching your video hope you got some heating where you are. Have a nice cup of tea. From the UK London
I think he insulated his house in another video
the HDR is burning my eyes, in a good way. the perfect content for HDR, so white! 😀
Your neighbors are so lucky to have you! Loved watching this! Greetings from Los Angeles!
An underrated channel. This channel deserves more! Your videos are so relaxing to watch. Thank you!😊
Are home prices cheaper in the heavy snowfall regions of Japan compared to the rest of Japan?
Wow very nice ambiance
Hey Matt, how is it inside after all your work insulating?
The snowfall is beautiful and amazing in Japan! But please .2??????! It’s minus 30 in the prairies in Canada

Hi matt,do you have to shovel the snow from your roof as well ? I've lived in England my whole life (55 years) never had a snowy Christmas 😢
I respect the Japanese people, honour, respect and discipline. A wonderful culture.
It’s nice to see the effort put into everyday life and work

Have you got a washer to use. Just been watching your other videos.

Do you guys put down any salt to help melt the snow after you shovel?
What happened if you had to leave for a few days?
I set up a couple of live cameras to check conditions when I’m away. If there are any issues I can call a snow clearing business

absolutely no need to go to a gym for a work out during winter. that hot onsen might be the reward after that snow shoveling.
How do you remove snow from the roof of your house?
Put on a harness, climb up the fixed ladders, clip on the fixed safety points and start shovelling. We wait to get a solid base so it’s safer to walk on
Great video...Where are you from Matt?
That's it I want to be there I want to eat the food and I want to be with the people oh oh oh oh oh love you Japan
What town is this ?

Ayeee Fremont! I lived there for about a year and had a great time!
Need some snowshoes.

I can change my language under "settings" in the upper right corner.
I think it’s something TH-cam just rolled out
What kind of heating do you have in your house?
Gas heating with exhausts and heat pumps :)
buy some melt mats.
They don’t work with the amount of snow we get. You don’t see them in snow country Japan
Lovely visuals, very difficult to hear what you're saying.
Is that guy using a LAWNMOWER to move snow?…
It’s like a shovel that slides across the snow
Why don't you cover your ears you will get cold
My body runs hot. I rarely feel cold
No hat on your head?
@Izzymill it's only -2 not that cold yet, when you shovel snow, you sweat. 🇨🇦

I want give you a knit cap.
Please do not dump shoveled snow on the road.
This is against the rules for snow removal in Japan.

Boring 🥱
Why are you here hahahaha
