I was watching some vlogs from other Japanese, and they say that there are many Christmas decorations and lights in parks where people can walk and see all the lights lit up at night. Maybe you can take your wife and son to see them. If your wife doesnt care to go, take your son. He might enjoy how pretty they are. Even if Christmas is a holiday you dont celebrate, its a good excuse to go out for a walk. Then stop somewhere for hot ramen to warm you up. I wish you well in your activities. Thank you for sharing. I’m now in my second year of retirement and don’t miss the commute. I continue to hope that your feelings of loneliness ends and your family life improves. As a gentle suggestion, you might want to use a little petroleum jelly after applying lotion to your hands. It will help seal in the moisture. 😊

Hello again Samurai Daddy. Nice clip, but with a bit sad undertone. Yes, your days are long with work and the commute. I have done this for many years, now retired. Breakfast at Sukiya is great and at a good price although I prefer Matsuya, (old dog).The tempura at Caretta Shiodome looks great and big and at good prices. There are a few Marugame Seimen in Fukuoka. Sorry, I can not comment on the udonuts, I never eat any sweet stuff, mochi etc just grows in my mouth, but that is just me. Some say that your clips repeat themselves, maybe so, but I love them. They make me revisit Japan where i lived for many years and learned to love the country, culture and the people. Many followers also have comments about your life. One question i might have is if you do not have some old friend close by, maybe baseball, school or whatever, who could join you after work for a talk, a meal and a drink? I made good friend with a salaryman in Fukuoka, but from Osaka. We went to see baseball, we went to simple yakitoris, some jazz bars etc. For years. Sometimes my gf was with us. Also made kind of friend with a "former" yakuza guy, he missed 3 fingers. We went to saunas where tattoos were allowed and we could drink beers. A nice guy. Well, the years in Japan were mixed but good. I learned a lot about society and I carry it with me. Now in Romania, but still think Japan is the number one country to live in. If one has the money. Yep, have been to Okinawa, I answered someone in the feed below. I wish you the best of courage and the best of luck. Arigato!
Great climate and food in Okinawa. I have Japanese friends who live there. Goya chanpuru is excellent and also fermented tofu, it is like a fine French dessert cheese. Do not expect too much fish and seafood though. And be aware that some dishes may be very sweet. And be careful with the awamori, it can be very strong and maybe avoid the ones with snakes. Hope you get there, it is worth it!

You seriously need to consider working closer to home or moving closer to work if possible. A 3 hour commute is insane and standing instead of sitting during that commute is difficult after a long day.
I had a very senior job many years back and my husband worked shifts , 12 till ten at night then 5am till 2. My hours were about 7am till 7 to 8 pm, my normal day was 10 to 12 hours before travelling time, adding travel to this would be a 14 hour day. I eventually gave up work to live a more financially simple life but to spend quality time with my husband.
Why don't you spend time with your wife in the evening? Go to a concert. Or a movie. Or go sightseeing. Your life is Groundhog Day. Eat - work - sleep.
I very much agree. Perhaps it's hard to get a babysitter but at least stay up for each other. Ask each other how your day was. Talk, listen and hell, give each other a hug to show your affection 🙂

Your description says you have a wife and son and in the title of this video it has the word “lonely”. Ten years ago I would have thought that’s an oxymoron. After my last two relationships, I can come up with two examples of how that’s possible. On top of that you travel hour and a half each way to work, on a train, and sometimes standing the whole time? I wish I had something intelligent and encouraging to say and all I can come up with is “stay strong my fellow man, stay strong!” Do your best now so you have no regrets later.

Even though you have an hour and a half commute, you could probably get home at a decent time if you didn't stop to drink coffee, eat noodles and shop for 1 meal at the grocery store. It seems like you never eat or spend time with your family so that would lead to loneliness. Not judging just an observation.
