what amazing people, normal people....8 out of 10 cab drivers dont even say hi when you do, half people dont really like "farangs". Not saying they are bad, but they are normal...i dont see any special love or greet in thailand lol. That is a myth

Whatever floats your boat. But Thailand isn't as great as OP and Chris and all these dingbats make it out to be. Used to love Thailand but now to many westerners and Chinese and nasty Russians. And a lot of losers who just think it's cool to say Thailand is amazing lol. There are quite a few places in south east asia I would pick over it.

@@johny5400 Different people experiences and perceives things differently. You don't have to like Thailand, but some others really do so calling that a myth is just unfair.
Indeed, many taxi drivers don't say hi but that's just how they are. I did take a taxi, motorcycle taxi, bus to other provinces, two-row seat bus and all. Guess what, if you are not visiting an expensive restaurant or 5-star hotel, barely any of them say hi or ''wai'' back. They don't even do that to fellow Thais lol. That's just how they conduct short-conversation business. I tell them what I want and that's it, but that doesn't mean they are rude or unfriendly or dislike farangs. Oh, you know many Thai people are generally still afraid to talk to foreigners as well?

100% agree with the first question about negative vs positives.
I live in Sweden, we have negative things too. I lived 6 years in China, there are negatives too.
But wherever you live, you have to decide for yourself, if you want to focus on the negative, or seek out the positive?
Personally, i'd rather seek out and focus on the positives. Thats why i very rarely had negative experiences in Sweden, China or Thailand.
Because i DONT "go looking" for the bad parts. I dont choose to go to really bad neighbourhoods, because why would i want to?
I dont go confronting people about their political views, becuase whats the point of seeking confrontation?
I dont try to argue abortion rights or trans rights with people in Soi Cowboy, because whats the point?
If you SEEK OUT the negative aspects in life, you WILL find it, over and over, endlessly.
If you seek out the POSITIVES, you will find WAY MORE positives than negatives, anywhere you are.
Its NOT about being blind to the bad parts, its about not FOCUSING on them, because it doesnt bring your life ANY benefit what so ever, it only brings misery.
It's up to YOU as an individual to CHOOSE what kind of life you want to focus on attaining.
If you WANT to focus on the negatives and build a completely neutral 1:1 balanced view of every thing you encounter (including romantic partners), then i frankly feel sorry for you, because you'll continue to see the bad side of everything (and everyone, especially in relationships), being eventually unable to just let go and enjoy life for what it it, or enjoy people for who they are WITH their flaws.
The only way to accept life with negative parts, or a partner with flaws, is to let go and stop focusing on it, just let them be as they are, and focus on what is good.
Also its worth mentioning that, very very often when you see people who argue about "this is bad, that is terrible", either about places or people, usually those people by themselves are of a very confrontational mindset, and seem to end up in trouble or arguments wherever they go, on a weekly basis..
Meanwhile, i havent had any confrontation or any real problem, anywhere i've gone, for decades. I've had severe life challenges and been on the brink of disaster, but not because of any individual person or place being "out to get me".
To a hammer everything looks like a nail.

I am 56yrs old & disabled due to a failed back surgery, so I am on Disability, so I don't make enough money to qualify for the Retirement visa. Which is ironic due to the HUGE expense of living in the US... I lived in my vehicle for almost 2 years, but in Thailand I could actually afford an apartment of my own. I feel trapped here. 😞

There are some very strong leaders here and good hearted youth who want their country to do even more and i'm not talking politics here, but more day to day living type issues. 4 to 5 🌶 on scale of 10.
    1 🌶 on scale of 3....
Thai people are amazing, only one bad person we meet in 14 months, even the ladyboys were really good people to us.
Traffic is controlled chaos but would rather drive there than in the USA. At least I know it's chaos.
You are one of two I watch in Thailand religiously, the other is pretty much never in the scene. He always has great content and shows so much about the area he is traveling. Even outside of Thailand.
We want to move back to Thailand so bad. We'll get to soon. Cheers, keep up the great videos.

I love your content. I can say I have been to Thailand 5 times in 5 different years. I had a few small issues of course in between but I took away 90% positive experience throughout. I guess if you consider moving to Thailand and those that already do live there, they definitely have their own opinion. Everyone is different and its really about your own perception of things and life in general that reflects on your day and life anywhere in the world really. I am from New Zealand and I both love and hate New Zealand. But I always have a smile on my face daily as the people in my niche are positive people.

ผมรักประเทศไทย!! I so appreciate your comment about the Thai people!! I first went to Thailand in 82-83 as a Missionary for my Church. I fell in love with the people of Thailand (and the food) because of the warm, welcoming spirit of คนไทย (Thai people for those who don’t read or speak Thai)! My wife and I are going to be in Thailand in September. This will be my 4th trip back and I love your videos, because our dream is to live in Thailand after I retire. I would pull the trigger sooner, but I need to wait until I’m 65 to qualify for my pension and then also have our social security income. We know that we can live well in Thailand! We’re still trying to decide between Bangkok, Chiang Mai or a beach city; each have their pros and cons. Thank you for your videos!!

As an outsider, it is easy to just see the positives of Thailand. We don't have the expectations of the Thai people on their society. That is huge. We are considered outsiders and are looked at differently.
Also, we come to Thailand with western amounts of money and costs. Everything is so much more affordable than at home.

    • @nichalertsumonya3494
      @nichalertsumonya3494 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yes, I agree. Whenever you turn yourself or consider yourself as a Thai citizen, not an outsider, you will face many things frustrating and see only negative thing here like many farangs who been living in Thailand for a while like 3-5 years so far. They are getting used to things that they had ever been excited for when they just moved to live here. They will see only problems as well as forget that they are just an outsider not a local. They start criticizing the gov. , the people blah blah blah. It seems that they are a bitter farang who cat go back to where they are from ( since it isnt good enough to live for now) and cant go on with the place they are living.

    Hey buddy 😂
Chris I'm with you, I believe it would be really hard to show anything bad about Thailand because when you compare Thailand 🇹🇭 to where you come from, e.g, like me comparing New Zealand 🇳🇿 to Thailand 🇹🇭
New Zealand at this stage for me and my family (family of 6) Is really expensive for living and to travel in NZ but in Thailand we can afford to do so much more, which is why we love Thailand and the people make us feel so welcome and genuinely feel happy to see us in Thailand. I love it, as you say every country has their bad, but when we are in Thailand it's nothing but good times, even more so from subscribing to your channel and becoming a Board member.
So cheers 🍻 to you and Adam, keep up the good work and hope to see you again next time.
    Take care mate

Recently at a family function I was talking to the girlfriend of young family member who moved to Australia when she was young. I felt really sad for her because not only was she disconnected from her family but from her culture. I then spent the next hour telling her how great Thailand was, I also mentioned about a few of us catching up for some Thai food but she explained that her partner doesn't like Thai food. My reaction was "well he'll just have to learn won't he?"
