Wait wait, the B-52 has air-to-air kills? I knew that the B-52 was capable of dropping a cruise missile from its bays that ignites and flies to where it is designated (HLC taught me this too), but when has that been used to kill an enemy aircraft?
@TurtleShroom3 it used to have a radar operated tail gun. My father was in a B-52 during operation linebacker 2 in vietnam. You and I both my good sir.
I worked on Grandpa B.U.F.F. back in the early to mid 80's. What a plane!
"Fight like the 3rd monkey on the ramp to Noahs Arc, and it just started raining" is a 10/10 line
2:13 “But I could use a rest”
I’m about to be 16, so I don’t know much about the veterans who served, but I will always be grateful to them. They have lived through hell to give us the heaven we have today, and I sometimes forget that. I hate that my generation wastes this heaven we have, but I will remain eternally grateful to the fallen who gave us it. Please rest now. You deserve every bit of it and so much more.
i LOVE the idea of historical skits like these! if world news slows down, theres always history to go back and look at!
That's heartwarming. Proper guidance when yer starting out goes a lonnnng way
So great, popped up right as I pulled up TH-cam. Great video!
I love how the B-25 sounds. As someone who spends time around a B-25J, love that you did the fella. 😊
This is suprisnly tear jerking.
You did something in a couple minutes, that my ex & the twillight series could not, you made me care.
Awwwww the old gang. Buff learned from the best.
The long unbroken lineage. It's hard to imagine that grandpa BUFF has been around for most of the time there HAVE been bombers.
It's like handing off the torch. The old warriors passing off their wisdom to the young warriors. Heart Warming
I love how you're covering older planes now.
I can't wait till you start tanks. I can see a video where a bunch of horses are laughing at a tank.
Buff's back story is like watching one of them heart warming flash backs
Love seeing some historic skits. It would be fun to see what jokes and memes you use for historic events. Personally I would like to see some on the progression of air defense. From "and if that don't work, use more gun" of the M33 and M45 to barage baloons and timed and proximity fuses.
...I think the funniest part is that B-17 could still come around and talk to Old BUFF, due to there still being a few of him flying around, albeit only for recreation.
well there is 2 B-29 flyable so he can still meet up with them as well.
@@Demonclaw92 Good point, good point. Also, just saw the new video including the old B-17. 10/10.
“Fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s Ark and it just started raining” is an awesome motivational line, it’s also funny
“I wonder how long he’ll be in service” is a question people still ask the B-52, but for entirely different reasons.
Aaawww, look at our little boy!!!🥺 Off to do his first test flights. They grow up so fast😭
Awww baby buff is so cute! Look at his little jet dimples
Imagine Grandpa Buff takes the other planes to the museum where these old bombers now reside. Buff explains how they were his friends and mentors, and they tell the others how proud the Buff has made them.
@omniverse7976, Yeah, THIS ONE. I like it. Do it. Museums are where history tells its story. "Fighters make movies, Bombers make history". "Fighters take out the trash, Bombers landscape the world".
That was actually quite wholesome, regarding the topic. Grandpa Buff as a young one.
Id love to see buff with fifi or Doc and some other warbirds, sharing a pint of kerosene, reminising about the good ol' days and talking about the current gen of birds
Grandpa Buff has the most inspirational PTSD diagnosis I've ever witnessed
I need to see the many many many many battles of the buff
B-25: “I started that war”
B-29: “And I… I ended that war. Some people will argue the morality of it, but how many millions of lives were saved by not having to invade”
Great voice acting to be able to convey the trauma from that with just eyes and a mouth
"Fight like you're the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's Ark, and it just started raining."
God damn I love this channel! 😂👏
The 1940s broadcast tone was a nice touch
Buff is always on top
That was one of your best. Brought a tear to this old man’s eyes.
Now I just want the three to still be friends ^.^ telling stories from time to time 😊
This brings a tear to mine eye when I watch this. You did good Buff ya did them proud.
Still waiting for Grandpa buff to tell us about his air to air kills.
He said the BUFF had five air-to-air kills with the enemy, and one friendly.
When I looked it up, it said there was only like 3 air-to-air kills, so who do ya believe. I know pops wasn't in the birds that had the kills. And I know how stories can be exaggerated.
Even if you go with the lower number, that's still three more than the F-22
Amazing video! Your content really hits home as my son and I just recently toured the USS Yorktown in Charleston SC as myself and my son were in aw from the presentation of the staff and the story of the 16 B-25’s that were assigned the mission, the over all strategy (modified for fuel) and the outcome. As always thank you HBL for your content.
"Fighting like the third monkey getting on Noah's Arc and it just started raining..." Fuck that is the PERFECT analogy
I hope they are proud of Grandpa Buff. He's become a legend among legends.
Have grandpa tell f22 about the f106 delta dart! It’s an American interceptor that served for many years….. without a single air to air kill.
Damn, that was wholesome as a cat nursing a litter of kittens.
Didn't know we used the B-25 into 1955. The more you know.
Also, with the amount of bombers we went through until the B-52, they had a right to be skeptical of how long he'd be around.
The B-25 was flown almost to the 60s. I think he was retired out 6 months before crossing the finishing line.
You have never let us down Buff, and you never will. Get ready to become a great grandpa Buff.
Fighters make movies, Bombers make history
Love to see the buff and the tu-95 bear talk shit to one another but with a begrudging respect as old enemies.
Buff on top
Jeez.... I almost stood up and Saluted my freaking computer! I tell you, I absolutely LOVE this channel! And Buff! He reminds me of my own Grandpa. What I can remember of him anyways. Thanks Guys! Much appreciated!
I would like to see F-22 have an episode where the red baron comes to him in a dream.
That might be fun to see. Count me in, I’d like to see that
Rest easy Mitchell rest essy your job is done....youve earned it
I wonder what a buff nightmare would be like
"Sorry grandpa, buuuut Frances Canvas boys are just more affordable to keep in bulk, gonna need to retire ya"
This was just….tear-jerkingly beautiful! Kinda wish to see a pt 2 reaction from the old bombers watching the Buffs first mission in 65.
Came here for the entertainment. Currently in feels because of the sincerely sweet undertones. Very well done, sir
Reminds me of my Grand Dad. Rest in Peace, George.
If this is going to be a story arc, I'm gonna we so happy
Fantastic, history packaged in talking planes wrapped in humor!
