I love my K3. I’d always used cheap keyboards , never spending more than $20 at Walmart. After killing my one, I figured I’d step it up a bit since I’d already upgraded my iPad. Blew my mind. I do have the blue switches, but I don’t think they bother anyone.
Got K2 Pro two weeks after Q1 Pro and they are both amazing, in fact I like K2 Pro little better. It's actually mildly disappointing they are so good out of the box as no mods needed unless you fancy a different type of switch or keycaps. The tactile and audible experience from typing on both is great.
I don’t have or have tried the pro lineup for Keychron, but I started with the K6 and into the K2 hotswap and I still use it to this day. They make amazing products and I have loved the experiences of using them!
I have the K8 Pro, and I gotta say it's been a pretty good experience so far. Only complaint is it lacks 2.4GHz. For half the price, RK includes both BT and 2.4 dongle.
Hey there! Thanks for your comment. I'm actually a big fan of the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a fantastic tool for keeping your workspace clean and tidy. The powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities make it super convenient for keyboard cleaning and maintaining a spotless desktop. And the best part? The price is really reasonable compared to other brands. Definitely worth considering! Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help you with. Happy cleaning!
I thought I would prefer a low profile keyboard due to being so used to my MacBook keyboard for typing. I quickly returned the Logi as I didn't like the mushy brown keys. Got the K3 Pro which is miles better but finally I settled on the K2 Pro with brown keys. It's incredible and so satisfying to type on.
I enjoy typing on MacBook too, I returned the k3 red keys as well. Now I’m wondering should I get K2 pro or K3 pro brown keys. What was your deciding factor?
Do you find it confusing switching between your mechanical keyboard and your MacBook keyboard, or are you just used to both of them? Please reply asap.
Good review. I have the MX Keys (Full size) and also the Keychron K8 Pro. Both are excellent keyboards. My only negative comments is the weight of the Keychron. I bought it as a travel keyboard as I spend over a hundred nights each year away from home. I just leave it at home and travel with a much lighter razer keyboard now. As a home keyboard the Keychrom is fabulous.
Hey, I noticed you left the comment "{{3}}" under the post. Are you referring to the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? If so, I totally agree with you! It's a great tool for keeping your desk clean and it offers some really handy features like the vacuuming and blowing capabilities. Plus, the price is reasonable compared to other brands. Have you personally tried it? Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help you with!
A short while ago I bought Apple's magic keyboard and I'm having a difficult time adjusting to the flat profile and typing feel. I wish I'd seen this video before making the purchase, one of these may have been more suitable for me.
Thanks for the review! I was looking at this one, but I was hesitant because of the missing menu, page, home keys, but it looks like those won't be a problem with the key mapping feature.
Hey there, {{3}}! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact and versatile tool that can help keep your desktop, living spaces, and even your car spotless. With its powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, it's a game-changer for maintaining a clean environment. Plus, the price is quite reasonable compared to other brands. I actually need backlight, but in case of keychron the caps are not shinethrough, so it makes no sense to me.. so this backlighting issue and the poor battery life made me buy the logitech. Otherwise I really like the low profile version of the keychron, the design, it's colors and it's sound is really cool!
Keychron is just hype. My K2 Ver 1 started to malfunction. In BT typing 3 will produce 34 or 43 . If I switch over to cable all keys from = to 9 will have 4 as prefix or suffix. Keyboard is out of warranty. Customer care initially showed some interest in listening. When I sent a few videos of keyboard malfunction, they too are silent.
I bought the K2 Pro and have problems for which I cannot find solutions. The biggest problem is that the Windows logo key will not function. I have searched for solutions and tried everything I could find. I updated the firmware and driver, I did a factory reset. It may be that the Windows key is simply locked, but I cannot find that function key on this keyboard, which is the other problem I have with it: several function keys that I use frequently are missing (or maybe just hidden, but I can't find any support material that helps with this thing). I'm frustrated enough at this point to get rid of it and buy a Logitech.
Own the full size logitech mechanical, have a Keychron Q1 with knob. The Keychron is head and shoulders better than the logitech. The Logi is good, the Keychron is incredible.
Another popular brand for low profile mechanicals is NuPhy. I'm actually considering getting a low profile NuPhy vs Keychron, and leaning towards NuPhy for now, because even though Keychron's understated and mature color theme is elegant, I don't want all my keyboards to look the same. :3 On my K8 Pro I'm using Everglide Aqua King v3, for some reason these pair so well with the Keychron OSA keycaps. The sound they give is a very sweet pop that isn't explosive.
Hey there, fellow tech enthusiast! As someone who's passionate about optimizing my desktop setup, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact device that offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities to keep your desk, living spaces, and even car interiors spotless. The versatile features, such as keyboard cleaning and efficient storage, make it a handy tool for maintaining your tech environment. Plus, its reasonable price compared to other tool brands makes it a worthwhile investment. Happy cleaning!
I strongly considered getting a keychron k3 or mx mechanical for my setup but I ended up defaulting to the apple magic keyboard for touch id. I’m super used to chiclet keys, but I wanted to try out a low profile mechanical keyboard.
No Logitech, I have Keychron K3(75% red), MX full size(Brown), I don’t know how to describe it but it feels way more smooth to type on the Keychron. EDIT - the Logitech MX almost double of the price…
I've got a K10 (I'm an accountant, I need a number pad) and it's really just okay. The legend on the keycaps is illegible unless the backlight is on (an easy fix, but annoying) and the battery only lasts about two and a half workdays while using the backlight. Plus, this is actually my second K10--the first one died after just over two weeks after I stared using it. Keychron was great about replacing it, so that's great at least. I'm actually thinking about getting an MX mechanical to replace the K10--Logitech hardware just feels better, and the battery life alone is probably worth it.
I use a PC desktop and a Mac laptop at a docking station on the same desk as the PC. Is it possible to have this hardwired to the PC, toggle to Bluetooth and use it with the Mac without unplugging it from the PC? Every keyboard I've found that has "this function" needs to be unplugged from the PC before it will work over Bluetooth with the other computer.
Multi device support? I had ONE Keychron keyboard btw, and I'm still having nightmares about it. It took seconds to wake up when I started to type, forcing me to repeat a word every single time.
Meh, sticking with my G915 Tenkeyless. Has both 2.4Ghz and BT, and much easier to use simultaneously with two computers. Has useful backlighting, where it actually helps you see the letters in dark environment. It feels great, battery charge lasts forever.
compared with the 2 keychron low profile keyboards I have owned, there are 2 things I prefer with the MX Mechanical Mini - much better battery life, and the dongle - I find the delay when waking up bluetooth a bit annoying. I don't hate the keychrons tho
Which switches do you have? I ordered mine with blue switched and waiting for it still. Got so tired of using cherry browns for the past 6 years, really wanted something more clicky. I'm even considering getting the green gateron switches, they seem awesome (but I'll have to see how the blues settle with me, might get quite annoying after a while).
@@PhazonBlaxor I use the Gateron G Pro Brown Switches - I chose them because I find them the most tactile without being too clicky. I absolutely LOVE typing on this keyboard.
I use K3 Pro low profile, wanted to use multiple layers for example one for arrow keys on hjkl but keychron locked this keyboard to 4 layers preset for operating systems switch, i could not change that easy way, from what i googled only way is to create custom firmware :(
I’m eyeing k3 vs Nuphy vs logi. I’m currently using lenovo trackpoint 2. Legendary lenovo feel and doesn’t have bt delays or battery issues of all of these other guys. I just wish it was tkl layout
Something I get a lot of is 'smudges' or ''shinny' marks on the space bar from use. I get this a lot. Don't know if I just have over oily skin or what, but do these key resist that melted plastic shinny look that happens on most keyboards over time and usage?
I didn't know about this channel before, but recently I decided to purchase an m1 Air and this channel became my go to for few days for anything related to MacOS. A true gold mine !!! Btw, going to get my M1 macbook Air tomorrow 🎉
I just ordered the Keychron K2 with the blue switches. I have a less expensive Pauroty 60% keyboard right now, and I love typing on it, but I want a keyboard that's a little better for coding. When I'm coding, I really miss the arrow kys.
I was debating the K2 Pro or Asus Azoth, I ended up going with the Azoth for my gaming PC. I got Blue switches and I have to say I'm very impressed with the Azoth, its got all the K2 Pro features but also has more damping and faster wireless. Yea it has an OLED screen as well but that doesn't do much for the typing experience. It's so quite the blues sound like browns. I may still get the K2 Pro for my Mac Studio as moving back to more of a normal, non low-profile keyboard, that Apple keyboard stays right now just for the fingerprint scanner. I did get the K2 Keychron wrist rest because it's closest to the size of the Azoth. I'm switching from a G915 TKL which is the gaming version of the MX Mechanical. It's been great but after a couple of year I have no visible letters on the keycaps and no real replacement options. I guess technically I don't need them but we all look down from time to time. Thank you for this review... definitely leaning towards picking up a K2 now as well! I may be strange but I like to switch my keyboard out from time to time just to change things up... odd I know.
One thing that you should notice, if you are going to use it for typing and gaming, is that - different switches for different purposes. You should find something in between if you want to use this keyboard for both scenarios.
Hey, {{3}}! I actually use the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for keeping my desktop clean, and it's been a game-changer. The powerful blowing feature is perfect for quickly getting rid of dust and crumbs between the keys. Plus, it's great for cleaning my car's interior too! Definitely recommend giving it a try.
Thanks for the informative video. Just curious if there are no significant lags when switching the BT connection between your PC and the MBP. I've seen some user opinions that the MX Mechanical switches flawlessly while the K5 SE sometimes thinks a while before doing the same. Also it would be nice to have a USB connector for a mouse and be able to switch both input devices from the keyboard but that is wishfull thinking ;) Great channel!
Even the Logitech is slow. I have mx keys mini and honestly bought the usb bolt receiver and a kvn to swap between my devices having a blue is a no go since using any headphones with a mouse and keyboard all connected in blue means disconnecting and etc and alot of problems.
$89 is a lot of money to spend for a keyboard for some people unless you’re rich or have some disposable budget. so it’s good value for the money. but better not to expect because it’s not say… $500 it’s a bad keyboard.
7:43 now it's available? When I first time bought K3 I always miss DEL and press Light :( so I sold it. Now it's possible to change layout in software?
I will echo the goodness of the K Pro keychron line. For wired, the V series is also a high value budget line worth checking out. You get the essentials of a higher end typing experience, but without the frills that don't doesn't directly add anything to the typing experience. If you are starting out, getting a K or V series and maybe mod with different keycaps or switches down the road to your own taste One other low profile keyboard worth checking out is NuPhy Air, specifically the Air 96 which can be ordered with newly designed Gateron switches. These have a higher degree of travel for a more tactile feel. The keyboard has the thinnest low profile keycaps available. I am a NuPhy user and I just love it.
What about the sensitivity of the press? At what point does the press get triggered? This is one thing I don't see talked about on keyboard reviews. I have a Logi MX Mechanical Mini and the slightest, tiniest bump of a key registeres as press resulting in many typos. I type just fine on my mac keyboard so I don't think I'm too horrible of a typer?.......maybe I just have fat fingers?
Keychron just does not understand that it is required to switch between Bluetooth and Cable, which is NOT possible without turning their keyboards OFF in between. This just is horrible when constantly switching between them (PC or Mac and iPad, for example)
Just got my first budget mech keyboard today. I think I'm gonna sell it later. My fingers are too short for the keys. I'll stick to the magic keyboard.
Hi! I am currently using MX mechanical and I would like to try new keyboard, if k3 is similar to mx then I would like to choose another one, any recommendations? I usually use keyboard for programming, thanks!
the big problem with the logitech is the price. it needs to be priced at $100. its too expensive. and brands like logitech, razer, rog and others price their products too high and it wasn't really an issue when they had no other competition besides eachother, but now there are other brands out there with similar or better products for less money.
The "Pro" Keychron keyboards have one big gotcha - if you need to use the keyboard in low light you're SOL. You can't just buy another set of keycaps, because the "Pro" series uses south-facing LEDs - so they won't work with the majority of keycaps (I've tried, it's been pretty disappointing). There are south-facing keycaps that are available but the better ones have the characters printed on the side of the keycaps - leaving the tops blank - so the problem goes from stupid to super-retarded. It's been very frustrating and disappointing to order a "Pro" Keychron keyboard to find out I can't effectively use a basic feature that comes on cheaper keyboards. If you need shine-through keycaps - get the non-pro versions of the Keychron keyboards, they use north-facing LEDs.
I saw a picture of K8 Pro with Steelseries prism caps and they worked just fine. I suppose the level of brightness needed to "see" comes down to personal preference though, but the person who posted the picture answered somebody asking about this issue and told they are just fine. I ordered my K8 Pro yesterday with the very same prism PBT caps, they look so awesome with the RGB lights!
Received my K8 pro ANSI and I am disappointed that although it has rgb backlight you cant see key characters in the dark. The keycaps are not shine through. One may ask, why notbuy alternative keycaps? I did, however I discovered that the south facing LEDSs hardly shine through the typical north facing keycaps (hyperx pudding in this case) to show the characters...and south facing keycaps? well, good luck finding those.
Is it really that big of a problem? I saw a picture with K8 Pro with Steelseries Prism caps (which are basically higher quality versions of the HyperX Pudding caps) and they seemed just fine. Somebody asked the person who posted the picture about this also, and they said while what's bright enough is highly subjective, they had no problems with it at all.
Need comparison! I just bought the MX mehcanical mini after considering K3 Pro and K3 v2 and to be honest I'm a bit disappointed, one of my keys is very stiff and got stuck down. I'm wishing it had more switch choices like the K3 does! My main question would be are the better looks and experience of the k3 worth losing the better software? And does the K3 integrate as well with a mac as the logitech does?
I personally don't really use the Logitech software. It's great if you also have a Logitech mouse and a 2nd computer, but if you don't, the K3 Pro is probably a better choice. It integrates just as well with a Mac as the Logitech.
The reviews of Keychron on Amazon does not reflect this review, furious user complain about short battery life, wireless connection issues, lag... I slo can't find Spanish keycaps for the Keychron which is a big issue. The Logitech can be ordered with Spanish layout.
Been using K8 Pro for my gaming rig for months and love the black slim border design. Very sturdy and premium looking. Too bad Keychron ditch the border in K10 Pro, which I also bought for my work PC, as I use numpad a lot.

Hey guys, I''m looking for a really "silent" keyboard from Keychron for office tasks and just a bit tad of gaming. then which one should I go for? many thanks for all pieces of advice out there.
You just have to buy the Keychron keyboards that suit your preference (form factor, have wireless connections or not) and buy another Silent switch set to replace the stock switches, I think Keychron does sell Silent switches too (Gateron Silent switches to be precise).
No! I have several Keychrones, and none of them will replace my Logitech MX Mechanical. I love that the illuminated keys light up whenever my hands come near the keyboard. Backlighting doesn't cut it.

so usually what's done here is to combine PBT and ABS so the things you want to be transparent (like the letters) are cut out of the top PBT layer for the light to shine through the ABS that fills the void underneath it.

Please yes a comparison between these two, the MX mechanical and the K3 pro 🙏😊
Got K2 Pro two weeks after Q1 Pro and they are both amazing, in fact I like K2 Pro little better. It's actually mildly disappointing they are so good out of the box as no mods needed unless you fancy a different type of switch or keycaps. The tactile and audible experience from typing on both is great.
I don’t have or have tried the pro lineup for Keychron, but I started with the K6 and into the K2 hotswap and I still use it to this day. They make amazing products and I have loved the experiences of using them!
I wish, the K8 Pro came out before I bought my K8, it looks so much better and it is via compatible
I have the K8 Pro, and I gotta say it's been a pretty good experience so far. Only complaint is it lacks 2.4GHz. For half the price, RK includes both BT and 2.4 dongle.
What is RK?
@@nas1mI assume Royal Kludge.
@@Wagmi0 Yeah true, I got the mx mechanical too and it's a bit disappointing. Whats the best switch color for the K3?
@@AdamSkjervold red too sensitive for me. Yet to decide now, thinking of getting “work louder” now 😆
is the k2 pro better than the k3 pro if that’s what you finally settled on?
Do you find it confusing switching between your mechanical keyboard and your MacBook keyboard, or are you just used to both of them? Please reply asap.
100% need full comparison for that 2 models.... thinking right now which to pick for both macbook + pc experience .... ???? which is more seamless????
I have the TKL with knob. Amazing keyboard!
You mentioned an advantage of the keychron, it doesn't have logos.
You can use a DBrand case for your laptop to hide those logos too.
Thanks for the review! I was looking at this one, but I was hesitant because of the missing menu, page, home keys, but it looks like those won't be a problem with the key mapping feature.
I bought k3 pro last week and it is amazing I love it sound not too noisy I surprised using it additive.
I would tend toward the TKL, as I don't like the relocated Shift key. For the moment my motospeed works pretty well, and was a lot less costly.
Definitely worth considering for optimizing your setup! 😄🔧🖥️
the K3 keyboard's battery only lasts 8 hours, while the Mx lasts at least two weeks, both with the key lights on. I have both.
My Razer blackwiddow v3 types multiple characters in a single press... and it costs twice as much.
I’m enjoying the Nuphy Air 75. My first mechanical, but no regrets
What’s the difference between K8 pro and K4 pro ? Please explain
On my K8 Pro I'm using Everglide Aqua King v3, for some reason these pair so well with the Keychron OSA keycaps.
I have K8 Pro, it is nice but I regret for not getting the K3 Pro for its slim profile.
K4 with its numpad all the way for me. If I hadn't customised mine so hard, I'd be interested in a Pro version of it.
currently the prices for this keychron keyboards are way over logi mini, so cannot be compared.
Idk if I should choose the normal or low profile bc I had experiences in both and both had some problems I did not like 😅
Do you think the brown switch version would be as good for the Keychron?@@jackwong64
"Weight reduces flex" - Materials engineer exploded in the background. :)
My fingers already get used to MX Mechanical Mini after maybe 4-6 months, now can't quite go back to the magic keyboard anymore...
I love the k8 pro. Just a sheer pleasure typing on it!
I heard good things abut the green switches though - just haven't tried them myself.
K5 SE for me. Keychron is terrific. Make the leap to mechanical.
Your lighting and photography are so beautiful ❤
which keychron keyboard would be best for office work? Is it good for Mac and Windows?
I use K3 Pro low profile, wanted to use multiple layers for example one for arrow keys on hjkl but keychron locked this keyboard to 4 layers preset for operating systems switch, i could not change that easy way, from what i googled only way is to create custom firmware :(
Nuphy Air75 is my go to keyboard for mac
Loving my K2 pro, only use cable though and switched to Akko Lavender switches (though it was nice before too.)
very informative video - thanks pal
Missed the K8 Pro sound comparison, since it uses Gateron switches
I’m eyeing k3 vs Nuphy vs logi. I’m currently using lenovo trackpoint 2. Legendary lenovo feel and doesn’t have bt delays or battery issues of all of these other guys. I just wish it was tkl layout
Something I get a lot of is 'smudges' or ''shinny' marks on the space bar from use. I get this a lot. Don't know if I just have over oily skin or what, but do these key resist that melted plastic shinny look that happens on most keyboards over time and usage?
If you change your mind can you change from the low profile to regular keycaps?
I didn't know about this channel before, but recently I decided to purchase an m1 Air and this channel became my go to for few days for anything related to MacOS. A true gold mine !!!
Btw, going to get my M1 macbook Air tomorrow 🎉
Thanks for watching!
Love the video! I just ordered the K2 Pro 75% and was wondering if I am able to put other profile type key caps on this board?
Does this keyboard work with Mojave 10.14.6. Not any Logitech product works with Mojave.
how does the name brown mean its quieter?
I just ordered the Keychron K2 with the blue switches. I have a less expensive Pauroty 60% keyboard right now, and I love typing on it, but I want a keyboard that's a little better for coding. When I'm coding, I really miss the arrow kys.
have one myself also. it;'s great to type on!
sir i have this keyboard how to print < and > i didn't find it??? i try shurtocd but don't where is it
When I hear „best“ and Logitech in same sentence, I know something is wrong here. Keychrons are just another level
Definitely recommend giving it a try.
the brown switches sound a bit cheap
How big is it? Will it fit in a typical backpack just like 14 in laptop which I also want?
Undoubtedly keycron is a much fairer cost x benefit than logitech.
Rocking the K2
This channel is sooo underrated, you are making epic vids. Keep up ^^
if he had more accurate information on the topic it would be rated higher. he got alot wrong in this video.
Please put more door bells into your videos. I hate dogs =)
you just say wirless but do they need a dongle or not ?
I use the normal K3. No complain at all.
$89 is a lot of money to spend for a keyboard for some people unless you’re rich or have some disposable budget. so it’s good value for the money. but better not to expect because it’s not say… $500 it’s a bad keyboard.
I just spent 200€ in total for K8 Pro and accesories, I'm poor AF. Well, maybe I'm not THAT poor then? 🤔I suppose poor is a relative thing.
Keychron has offerings for less just not in the pro line and not necessarily hot swappable. It's low for what it is.
If you are starting out, getting a K or V series and maybe mod with different keycaps or switches down the road to your own taste
One other low profile keyboard worth checking out is NuPhy Air, specifically the Air 96 which can be ordered with newly designed Gateron switches. These have a higher degree of travel for a more tactile feel. The keyboard has the thinnest low profile keycaps available. I am a NuPhy user and I just love it.
how freak do you use this without option key on the right side?
Do y'alls not use the option key?
What about the sensitivity of the press? At what point does the press get triggered?
This is one thing I don't see talked about on keyboard reviews. I have a Logi MX Mechanical Mini and the slightest, tiniest bump of a key registeres as press resulting in many typos. I type just fine on my mac keyboard so I don't think I'm too horrible of a typer?.......maybe I just have fat fingers?
can it be due to red switches ? which one you have ?
@@akashsahu933 I have the brown switches.
@@ChaoticDALO I hope your problem is limited to the logitech keyboard 😜 cuz i have just ordered the keychron k2 v2 brown ones as well
To bad they don't do AZERTY keyboard (France)
Cause changing all the Keys to start for the first time on a costumizable keyboard is a bit hard.
The iso Version of the keyboard is more expensive and only has ABS caps :(
Keychron just does not understand that it is required to switch between Bluetooth and Cable, which is NOT possible without turning their keyboards OFF in between. This just is horrible when constantly switching between them (PC or Mac and iPad, for example)
Does this come with a USB dongle? Asking cause of KVM
Just got my first budget mech keyboard today. I think I'm gonna sell it later. My fingers are too short for the keys. I'll stick to the magic keyboard.
Random question, but are there any known security risks that come with using keyboard remapping software like VIA or Karabiner-Elements?
Hi! I am currently using MX mechanical and I would like to try new keyboard, if k3 is similar to mx then I would like to choose another one, any recommendations? I usually use keyboard for programming, thanks!
Hello, is it possible to connect 3 devices at the same times with it ?
ThAts a lie , the price is for the K2 or K3 not for the pro models
the big problem with the logitech is the price. it needs to be priced at $100. its too expensive. and brands like logitech, razer, rog and others price their products too high and it wasn't really an issue when they had no other competition besides eachother, but now there are other brands out there with similar or better products for less money.
@@CreatedTech Okay thanks! Excited for the vid too
The reviews of Keychron on Amazon does not reflect this review, furious user complain about short battery life, wireless connection issues, lag...

Hey, if i disable battery, this working from cable?
Is Q series worth it?
