      @@WildWestGarage I'm actually doing a very similar thing to what you showed, I found it amusing that I found your video this evening. We will both know what to do on the next one that comes in the door. Cheers brother 🍻

    The tool you made to get the first bolt out was ingenious. I wouldn’t have thought of that in 1 million years.

    The genius of it all is not accepting defeat amid the frustration. Problem solving temperament is essential. Great job Morgan.

    I had the center bolt rusted. Took me a week to get it out.I used a drill and put a hole through the fuel rail and lower intake manifold. Patched them up with JB Weld. Screw grabbing socket got the bold out. Promasters only web site has a few ideas. You can also use a burr to remove the head of the bolt. I put rubber corks on the bolt holes to keep the water out. What a stupid design.

      Well at least you managed to fix it yourself, it’s not an easy job. You would think a company that’s been building cars for decades could have seen this coming.

    nothing like a good horror story right around Halloween... with grotesque visuals.
    One of the reasons i did not pursue mechanics as i should have. Had a great teacher/mentor mechanic, i had dreams of becoming a professional musician....ha
    should have stuck with mechanics, would have several good vehicles by now. 🔧
    Great job, i would've had busted knuckles and metal shavings in my eye...👁️

    Great work👍🏻 as if it would've costed Fiat/Chrysler any more to add a hole to the mold or drill it🤦‍♂️🧐

      You’ve got to wonder sometimes, 2 cents per part can add up to a fortune if you let it. I can’t really complain, it was a pretty good money maker for me.

      I don’t know if I mentioned in the video but about thee hours went by between initially trying to get those two screws out and actually getting them out.

    Do you think replacing the 2 bolts in the holes with a stainless steel bolt might be a good idea ?

    • @WildWestGarage
      @WildWestGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be some extra insurance if you could find the correct thread, they are kind of like a lag screw. I think drilling the holes to let the water out will have you covered.

    i hate jobs like that they drive me nuts, the good thing is you stayed with it and fixed it, may be also coat the heads of bolts with a good amount of high temp grease to help with the rust, drilling holes will help for sure. bring on the 4 dr chevy
