    I absolutely love my Yugoslavia Tomos 266xp! I don't even have to brag about it being a badass, It speaks for itself! I had a neighbor walk by my house last week when I was cutting some big ol Douglas fir rounds an arborist dropped off in my driveway weighing around 600 pounds a piece! He said he could hear it barking two blocks away and no bogging down at all! So he told his wife that he was taking the dog for a walk and wanted to see what kind of saw he was hearing that sounded so good! So I started it up and handed it to him and told him to bark the throttle a few times to see how fast it RPMs. I could tell he was scared of the damn thing as soon as it torqued up in his hands and he immediately handed it back over to me and said, Oh wow! I have got to get me one of those! I informed him that the saw was 35 years old, And from Slovenia, And he would be about as successful as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest at finding one of these bad boys! And they just don't make them like they used too! I don't know if the saw was factory ported, Or if someone who new what he was doing with a rotary tool? But it sure is fun to get in the bite and watch the chips come out and bury your boots in seconds, Priceless!🤗

    • @jimssawsnstuff8903

      Of you can shoot some brake clean around the potential spots for air leaks while it's running you should find the leak, the brake clean lowers the RPM if it sucks it in. Walt at Afleetcommand has a couple videos on diagnosing leaks with it.
      Check the intake, I believe those ones use the plastic block, sometimes they crac from being over tightened.
      Best is using a pressure and vacuum tester like a mity-vac, about $80-$120, if you're doing many builds or much saw work, it's a good investment, good luck👍

    • @RumfordSledhead
      @RumfordSledhead 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jimssawsnstuff8903 Thanks Jim, yes I am a big fan of the Afleetcommand channel and recently used the brake clean trick to find a crack in a Jonsered 70E intake manifold(also plastic)... I really wonder if I have the crank seals in correctly. Will see if I can test it but the saw goes straight to practically max RPMs and I don't want to blow it up. Has a nice OEM gilardoni open port cylinder on it.

    That little shiny spot on the bottom of the intake side is normal for even a brand new saw. it happens during test run start up on all saws.
    That piston you're looking at would be considered nearly new without the little scuff on the exhaust side. It clearly has all the machining lines indicating zero wear and no rocking whatsoever. If you're going to give lessons then please don't mislead people with bad info.
