The biggest mistake people make is they think Social Media is free. . . It costs time and money to develop quality content.

I was very closed minded about social media but once i started following your advice , i have connected with many people that i would never be able to connect with , people who helped me tremendously in my small business.especially Facebook for me.
The challenge is time management because you can get distracted easily if you dont have a plan.
    Thanks Patrick . Very helpful.

    1) What I got out of this video the most is not only is your social media your billboard of your life and whats going on, but it's also a great way to educate people. What Ted mention of 2 things that are going to be valuable, 1 is data and the other is education, now it makes more sense to me. No one may know who you are, but when something stands out to someone, like the post Patrick shared, now the viewers of Patrick are going to look at the post and get shared, all of a sudden that person who first wrote the post, bam gets followers! Another thing that I learned when you have a message, also have an opinion as well because that gets your "audience" intrigued.
    2) What I will be doing different in order to build my business on social media is to educate people and have an opinion on what I post/ message at "10 o' clock time" to be consistent because at this point I'm at a platform, but eventually it will take off. Most importantly, I want to be more transparent. I learned that people like people like them.
    Thanks for the Blog!

Love this video!! No one watches commercials anymore. The most important concepts I need to apply and keep in mind at all times are:
Become more active on social media.
You can be a private person and a marketer.
Entrepreneurship is purely marketing. The most successful people promote/market their business.
Everything you think about needs to be marketing. Skillfully it is about having a message/ opinion (be as specific as possible), provide value, target audience (who is your audience?), be relevant, be consistent with your blogs(every night/every day/specific time), authentic (BE YOU), transparency (if you make mistakes talk about it, don’t be too perfect).
Use every platform to stand out.

+Carla Gonzales : How i will use it to improve my business is by outlining routines, with the concepts or value i want to provide to my audience, and becoming more consistent on all areas of social media. I will start with Facebook and instagram and then move on to the other "difficult" ones like Periscope, twitter.

What I got out of the video was there are many ways of marketing yourself without even paying for it and take advantage of that opportunity. We have so many resources at our fingertips. I will utilize this by posting something at a specific time consistently and making sure the message is clear and brings value to people. At the same time be transparent and being authentic

Nice book shelf that spells out R E A D! I'm in the process of getting one just like it! Target Market & Valuable Message! So true! We have to have a target market/audience and message of value in order to make an impact. We have so many resources to market ourselves and our PHP business. We can buy radio time, television commercials, newspaper articles, Facebook pages & posts, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Glide, etc...we have to find out the needs and wants of our target market so that we can market what's valuable to them. Visuals help people see our vision and mission! We cannot be cliche like other companies!

This really resisted with me because I spend too much time being ineffective on social media. One of the tips that I am taking away is that my time on social media needs to be spent branding and marketing myself more than browsing. I also took away the need to be consistent. It truly doesn't matter how good I've been at the other 7 points if my audience doesn't know when they'll hear from me again!

I remember when I started my production company, my clients had to come to my house to see my work. But over the years as social media became more and more popular all I did was send them the link or post the video on facebook and over night I had 1000+ views and a few emails asking for a pricing. If we want to grow our business we have to also change with the times. Now clients ask me where can we see your videos not when can we come over to see your work. Now in the insurance industry for me I am looking at ways of doing the same to bring more knowledge to people about insurance. Posting videos or sharing articles about the industry. My social media marketing is not where it needs to be yet, but its a process that I am working on. Thank you for this great video and I will use the pits to brand and grow my business.

~Chris & Cece Moss PLS Houston, Texas~ For the busy entrepreneur in the "survival" mode in their business these types of platforms allow us to create a presence that can draw attention to us as we brand ourselves and our business. There's really no excuse why I can't attract attention, business relationships, and also add value to others. Pat made it clear that you don't have to remove privacy from your life in order to utilize these tool. As much as I thought being a entrepreneur was studying my craft and becoming a professional. It's not enough. If I'm not marketing my business in a manner that allows people to see value and create enough curiosity to bring them back and follow me, then technically I'm just a professional salesman not an entrepreneur. I plan to utilize Instagram by creating a group that allows me to reach others and educate them on Saturday Nights. This content will be directed toward savings and important of life insurance. I also will begin to bring usable content to Facebook through the PLS & WTP to put our Houston office on blast with our local community and small business owners to allow the message of free enterprise to be shared. This content will be quotes and info about taxation, what employees want etc... Together with the Vargas's will provide content on our team daily on Cyberdust to help keep them in the loop and have articles to share. Time to get to work.

The video was very informative. I am terrible with social media, I always thought that social media wasn’t necessary in my life. Starting this business I realize how important it is because this is one of the best ways to promote yourself as a business person. The concepts in this video, helped me understand that I need to be more active on all types of social media because every outlet gives me the opportunity to reach more people. The most important lesson is understanding that I need to be active on a daily or weekly basis. I just created my Facebook a few months ago, so this is start, now on to the next task.

The power of social media can be used to promote your business. It's free and is cheaper than paying millions of dollars to reach a few people. The video tells us that not having any time to do any of this is "inefficient use of your time." You have to prioritize your time to accomplish your success. All it takes is a few seconds to post something either on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc... Marketing yourself is important. Do it however you can either through social media or branded clothing. Think of everything as marketing. Market yourself but be authentic and be relevant. Make sure your postings are consistent and always around the same time so people can tune in to your postings or messages. Just like the 10 o'clock news!

What I got out of the video was to provide value to other people on social media with a specific message or cause.

Hey Patrick, i just want to say, what a great video! You are totally right that social media is taking over the way we communicate with each other now a days. It's like you said people used to mail birthday cards and letters but now people just log into Facebook on their cell phone and can post "happy birthday" on their timeline or send them a message through messenger.
A way I will use this information to improve my business is to market myself more on Facebook and Instagram with pictures and posts. Its like you said a picture speaks more than words and entrepreneurship is all about marketing.
    Thanks again Patrick. Great video!

Patrick! This is exactly what I was looking for. Only problem is finding the time to watch all of your videos and the other social media you are involved with. Patrick you are the answer to my prayers. I have recently come from Bogota, Colombia (although I am an American) I lived there for the last 3 years as a freelance photographer. Everything has changed so much in the USA now that I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Everything is now social media! Before I hardly had to advertize (although I bet you would say there are better ways). So I will learn with you! I have a Facebook page "Mario Carranza Photography" set up as a start, but I certainly plan to follow your advice about the other platforms. Thank you my friend. Mario Carranza, Houston, Texas.

being intentional when posting content. its easy to get caught up posting the same thing on different social media platforms, even though what may work for twitter won't work on Facebook. also learning to leverage other post and bringing value to them will attract followers to your profile. learning to leverage Instagram and learning the rules of hash tagging vs not. making sure the people who are following are real. learn to engage and give shout outs in order to receive the same from other users. learning when to post. such as specific times throughout the day.

Hey Pat I hope I made it in Time to get the extra credit but even if I didn't I loved that 26 minutes of value took a lot of notes and will share these nuggets with the team and office!
1st question WHAT DID I GET FROM IT:
What ever brings value to you or you assume to improve your life you will make time for. And as you said in the video it only takes a few minutes to do LinkedIn, Twitter, IG and Facebook, so I have to organize my time to put in serious effort into these social media platforms and the new ones like Periscope. When you tell stories about Edwin Lopez from him being a nobody to somebody through IG, that gave me a sense of urgency to get my IG account out there!
    2. Some things I'm going to do differently is applying the 8 points you shared at the end. (Eg. 1. Message/Opinion - 8. Being Authentic), one idea I have is targeting immigrants encouraging them to strive for the American Dream and not just live to get by working for someone else forever! Ty Pat! Gr8 video!

thanks for this message...In order to utilize these methods appropriately, you have to have a clear message, to the right audience, in the right channel, at the right time. your message has to be true to you, who you are and what you stand for. without a message that isnimoactdul, you will not have any relevance, or any success in standing out. I used to sell Radio and the importance of knowing your marlet6, your product and telling people a story that relates you to them at the right time, and repeated enough so you're top of mind is incredibly important for you to be successful in business.

Patrick, thinking about marketing. Is it good for me to invest in good clothes and a good car, in order to advertise myself when I'm going to meet my clients?

    • @danijeldomjanovic8131
      @danijeldomjanovic8131 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

clothes defenently, but a car is too extreme if you're new to business. Be humble and spend your money for growth.

I actually have podcasts, and I realized that uploading them to TH-cam (which is the biggest networking platform in the world) and especially a Facebook page would enable me to reach out the literally billions. Use all lines of social media from Linkedin, to TH-cam, Facebook, and especially instagram (since there are more real profiles on there versus Facebook).

    I LOVE IT!
I felt like I was doing the right stuff with building my business! Me and my girlfriend have started from scratch to now bringing in our first $500 within a couple months from building our work, (logos, price sheets, networking, websites, blog, content, youtube videos, linkedin, insta fb, twitter, etc) I have been missing some platforms that now I can engage into! Thanks to Valuetainment! Love your show! :)

Truth! You have to spend just as much time learning the skills of marketing and sales as you do perfecting your craft. Otherwise you will be "The Best Kept Secret." Not my strong suit but I am working on it.

I love this video. social media allows us to access the entire world with little cost involved.
My favorite medium is Twitter. it gives me access to large corporations. I like to post reviews and articles and tag related companies. they will typically retweet my tweet which leads to lots of views and followers!
