Yes. I hear a lot of people complaining about the clutter from the tabs including the guy in the video but you can just remove them. The UI is literally one screen and you can choose what tabs you want if you want any.

It never bothered me to much but if I can customise, show what I wanna show and have the wallpaper more visible then..I'd be happy if this is the case.
This guy is wrong. U can delete all the tabs on home page and create a group with all your favorite games and apps and put that on the Home Screen
From what I've seen, most influencers don't like Xbox and don't really use it. So when they end up covering it, they are completely clueless about the interface and act like it is confusing, when the truth is that it is just unfamiliar to them. In reality, the Xbox interface works really well. People like this never even acknowledge pins. I have my favorite games pinned so that I just tap down once and have my favorite stuff right there. Tap down again, there are my current favorite Game Pass games. Tap down again, there are my Xbox 360 favorites. Tap down again, there are my Xbox originals. It's so easy and customizable and clean. I removed most of the other stuff with a simple button press.
Meanwhile on PS4, it's just a stream of your most recent used stuff with no way to permanently position icons where you want them. Imagine if you couldn't customize your icons on your desktop on your PC. Imagine if it was just your most recently used programs and files and you couldn't control it. The same thing is true for phones and tablets. But the PS4 doesn't allow it. And yet, the interface that is regarded as crap is the one for Xbox. I can't remember where, but within the last day or two, one of these influencers was suggesting that the Xbox dashboard is loaded with ads. No, it objectively isn't.
Um you can pin games in the folder so same thing. UI has too much going on with Xbox ps4 is just simple. This is Microsoft the UI should be way better than this. I'm still getting an Xbox but UI is a big let down

Yea, I think the current homepage is almost perfect. Your last played games first, button for games and apps right under and then all your customized pins. The only thing I'd dump is the row right under your recent games that has the ad and gamepass tiles.
You can tell He Plays On PlayStation by the fact that he likes it very simple and in my opinion , stupid, I don’t like it being in one row like that and then settings and stuff like that , it pisses me off

I have all my games pinned on the first slide under the dashboard. It's really not that hard.

It's way more intuitive and customisable imo

These two seem really missinformed. There will not be a next gen optimized version of cyberpunk at launch of the new console. What exactly do you think you will " get to test "? It's going to be a backcompat game.
Second thing, there is no expandable storage option capable of running PS5 games. The WD black is not cleared by Sony for running PS5 games. Do not buy one thinking you will get to use it.
Third thing, Arron Greenberg confirmed third party expandable storage for the Series X/S so it would be reasonable to expect price drops roughly in line with storage prices.
Personal pet pev, both of these consoles will do something no console gen has done before, have thousands of games playable at launch the will play better, load faster. Stop saying these consoles will have no games to play. I will play the same games launch day I was playing the day before, and they will run noticably better.
Final thoughts, no one gives a shit what I think.

When my xbox gets here I'm gonna be sad I don't have anything new to play, but I have so much I need to finish playing that will look better that I'll be happy.

I totally agree! And it's like the phone market but not as bad. Even if there aren't any new exclusives for a particular console, you spending to get the latest and greatest will get you more power, faster loading, new features, etc. That's honestly the same with phones, most people upgrade every 1-4 years for what? More powerful devices, faster loading and new features. Plus they cost the same if not more for the good phones.
Isn't Cyberpunk part of Smart Delivery though? Doesn't that confirm it's getting a next gen port eventually?

Doesn't matter, because they will still have to pay a cut to Microsoft because it's still proprietary which will keep them at higher prices, it's like this with every single proprietary memory solution
@@hassnaindar9586 Except that the price of the Xbox expansion card is perfectly in line with PC SSDs of the same specs. A PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD does cost about $200 per TB, if not slightly more. The price of the Xbox SSD is perfectly reasonable.

I just found it funny because one of there other This Is videos they said the same thing then had to cut to a part where they went over the PS5 teardown due to the same thing happening. I was able to preorder both PS5 and Series X for launch so I am excited either way!

Austin a very good point to keep in mind is what Microsoft have in store with XCloud, if all goes to plan Xbox users wouldn't even need to expand storage manually they could just purchase access to store game files on the cloud similar to what Apple does with ICloud storage.

The UI is AMAZING. And I have an Xbox One. They don't push ads(except for maybe one ad on the home screen abt Ultimate)

I've literally never had an issue with the Xbox Ui.. The ad are a thing yes (it's 1 small tile on the home screen but 99% about games) but I've literally never had to scroll passed an ad to get where i needed to go

Ps5s new home screen is literally an Xbox now.. pulling numerous features from the xbox plus some of it's own Yet people are amazed with that

Which no one will notice since there are very few people with 600+ mbps internet and those that do have it will use Ethernet.
I heard that WiFi 6 supports WIRELESS VR but if that isn’t true then there is another benefit for WiFi 6 is the ability to perform better than WiFi 5 when a lot of people are using the internet, but other than that it’s nothing to really be a jaw dropper

@MertensCW There were already some people riding the Series X because the Series X UI is at 1080p not 4K like Sony. Apparently Microsoft did this to free 1GB of ram for developers which I personally understand. Who the hell cares that the UI is locked at 1080P lol. It's a UI at the end of the day. Even if you don't like it you will learn to live with it. I speak from experience, the NIntendo Switch
I love this ui, but I honestly loved the ui when I first got an Xbox one in 2017, where pressing the home button actually took you to home and you can still see your game running

I've loved the Xbox One UI since the first redesign in 2015 so I'm glad to hear that the Series X has a similar UI! Not sure if I'll get one bc I have a decent gaming PC, thus I can play all the Xbox exclusives, but I'm still glad.

how do you guys change the background to that swirl-like pattern (like at 1:17)? I updated my xbox one yesterday and received the new UI but can only choose from solid background colors (dont have the option for that swirl pattern you guys have). is that swirl pattern exclusive to series X?

You guys should talk about input latency, and how it compares to controller on pc. I would also love to hear if 120 is capped because, with that hardware, I wouldn't be surprised if it could play games easily over 144hz.
What is "that hardware"? Its not that powerful, Dirt 5 120fps mode uses low graphics settings to cope and still there are drops in framerate. Anyway, its capped, same as Xbox One X - you chose between 60 and 120hz.

Is possible an uncapped 120fps have only 5 to 10 more frames of buffer . So maybe you could get 125 to 130fsp as maximum .

Just remove the pages on the UI that you dont use. You can edit, move add, and remove groups and pages around. On your dashboard on xbox one already. Alot of people don't expore the settings and realize these options.

@@warrior411shenmue9 UI doesn’t need an overhaul for me personally. I just dont get why they are releasing this new update across all consoles. Next gen should have some tweaks here and there that makes it different from current gen like screen sharing (yes I copied it from ps5) and just overall faster performance on next gen. They should also allow to split your screen in half to have 2 games running at once in each half of the screen to take advantage of quick resume.
@Sunkeny maybe when the xbox one first launched I'd agree the ui wasn't the greatest. But there's literally nothing wrong with the current one. The only thing these guys complained about was it "seemed cluttered" its easy to navigate and quick. If you don't like the extra options on your home page, remove them. It take 30 secs. Id rather have the extra features and not use them, than not have them. Quit fanboying

i turn my console on and get right into the games i was playing last, if i wanna go into games and apps from the game i do that from the guide, hell you can mostly control the console from the guide menu.

1. Ps5 is not cheaper to make
2. Ps5 has better wifi
3. Ps5 has more expensive ssd v4.0 vs Xbox 3.0
4. Ps5 ports are better
5. The ps5 is bigger and the gpu and cpu are custom clocked to run cooler causing no bottlenecking.
Xbox looks good but come on the controller has batteries and Ps5 has built in charging.
No need to lie about the Xbox series X you also said Xbox is in a better position yet Ps5 is outselling the Xbox 2to1 already. Ps5 has a new custom UI built from the ground up Xbox is using the same UI ported from the Xbox one with a few updated pieces. Xbox has already seen over heating issues with some of the test consoles.

@@JeffCVlogs having built in batteries for a controller sucks. I can add a rechargable battery to my xbox controller and I'll be set. After a year or so when the battery goes bad I can replace it. However, for the Playstation controller it turns into a wired controller.
@@JeffCVlogs 1. It definitely is cheaper to make. Sony is not Microsoft. Sony relies heavily on the Playstation brand while Microsoft has more money than God. Microsoft, who is coming into this console generation behind Sony CAN afford to take a loss on their console. Sony may be able to afford the loss, but considering their position as the market leader why would they? Microsoft is aiming to make their money off of Game Pass subscriptions.
2. No argument, although this doesn't matter in the slightest if you use an ethernet cable like the original commenter said.

It does have the more expensive SSD, but Microsoft has the more powerful console overall, so while load times will likely be better on PS5, third party games will likely look and play better on XSX. Besides, even if the SSD makes load times better...if the XSX loads a game in 10 seconds vs. the PS5 loading it in 5...that isn't really game changing considering we came from a generation where load times were 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

5. There's no proof the PS5 actually runs cooler than XSX, and it actually seems the XSX is the cooler console. The overheating claims were literally false. We've got thermal imaging literally showing that the XSX runs significantly cooler than any previous console ever before. The PS5 numbers have been thrown around online and they seem similar although a bit higher, but they haven't been playtested by media outlets the same way the XSX has so in the interest of fairness I'll merely assume them to be the same until we've got concrete facts.
Batteries in a controller doesn't really matter to a lot of people. Personally I prefer the batteries because the added weight makes the controller feel better. Besides, charging isn't always a good thing...the PS4 was like 6-8 hours brand new and many didn't even get 8 hours in the slightest. Yes, the PS4 outsold the XBox One 2 to 1, but 1) that's last gen, and 2) Microsoft doesn't care if you buy their console...they just want you to subscribe to Game Pass. They'll make way more money that way. Everyone firmly believes that Sony is going to outsell Microsoft again...but if the amount of Game Pass subscriptions goes up it's a huge win for Microsoft. Think about it...PS5 owners who have a decent PC can subscribe to Game Pass and get a ton of great games to play. If they don't have a good enough PC, they still have the option to use XCloud on their cell phone or possibly smart TV and play Game Pass that way. All that is a ton of money in Microsoft's pocket and good for consumers.

About the UI, they've put a lot that we already have on the Xbox One UI, like the gaming DVR, the Achievement tracking, the community page, you know... but that idea for streaming your screen in the chat group was fucking amazing.
Kinda wish Microsoft would have made a completely redesigned UI for the home screen/menus. I agree that the current one(and I guess the next-gen one too) feels too clunky and busy.

They do exist, but they aren't that compelling to most people. Most people will be playing Assassin's Creed, FIFA, Madden, NBA 2K, and COD. Don't forget that approximately 2% of the PS3 user base bought the original Demon's Souls. Not exactly something that a lot of people care about. And honestly, Godfall is a game I am keeping an eye on, but my gaming instincts are telling me it is a 7.

i never understood how anyone says xbox is cluttered and confusing. thats playstation. they shove everything in random spots. this new update legit made me say "wow this looks amazing now" several times today.
Playstations UI is as simple as it gets. Even getting to power savings mode on Xbox is behind walls. PlayStation has a much simpler UI 100%.

On Xbox it’s recent stuff at top sorta the same yeah, but all you have to do is push down, and click A and boom all games and apps organized right there. You have so many options to organize by console type, size, and newness of game.
Playstations got all its media apps and games in separate library’s that aren’t even near each other either.

If you have a gaming pc, and the game pass ultimate, there is no reason to get the Xbox Series X, there is nothing the Xbox can do that your pc couldn't do. If you want a true next gen console I recommend you getting a ps5. The ps5 has awesome exclusives that you can't play on Xbox or your pc and has a true next gen experience with that insane ssd. Not even comparable with the Xbox. But yeah that's only my opinion, in the end what matters is that you have a great experience and enjoy playing the games :D

guys , microsoft has said they are gonna open up the expansion standard to more AIBs so expect competition and price drops there as well . also , microsoft has a huge advantage with game pass . also with 25 in house studios , paying $70per game on the ps5 feels archaic . i think the sony fanboys will flood the sales figures initially , but microsoft is playing the long con here. they're basically giving an xbox for free with the game pass / monthly subscription model . that IMO is the play here .
Game pass is a good value however, most games are older games and yes i know any game made by microsoft studios are added there but so far not that many. With the purchase of the new game publisher i do hope they are able to step up their game in releasing exclusives but that will take 2 or even more years if so. l own both consoles and honestly just see myself playing more on the PlayStation due to their exclusives.

Some very popular titles on that. The whole exclusive thing may be a thing of the past . If the biggest complaint is UI, I'm happy that I got a series x instead of a ps5. I use my systems to play games, not mess around with the UI. I'm stoked for ms this gen, they're knocking it outta the park so far. Once exclusives start coming out, it won't even be a contest.

its wifi 5 gen 2... Wifi 6 isnt going to make a difference. I don't get the wifi6 love. on the 5ghz spectrum it isn't do much more than AC gen 2 provdes. MU-MIMO is the biggest change, and AC gen 2 has had it for years now.

The big features this gen for Xbox is gaming at 4k and gaming with 120hz and HDR.
If you don't have a new tv that has a hdmi 2.1 slot than you are missing out on a lot of the best features of these consoles.

Agree, you'd be surprised at how customisable the UI is, even the Xbox Button menu can be changed around to your liking. Along with pinning games and apps to the home screen, creating groups for whatever you need and having your own colours and backgrounds. It really is a nice system and its across the entire family of Xbox's.

From an xbox players perspective i think the playstation 5 ui is a big upgrade compared to the ps4 ui.
Xbox has a meh ui but i'm really comfortable with the xbox ui so i really don't mind it. I can see why people dislike the xbox ui but idk i don't have any problems with it

I'm hoping that MS has (or will) make the 120Hz options a bit more full featured. For instance:
A set with HDMI *2.1*, and a 120Hz panel, can go all the way up to:
4k, 120Hz, 10-bit color (HDR)
That's very simple, however:
A set with HDMI *2.0*, and a 120Hz panel, can (hopefully) do:
1080p, 120Hz, 10-bit (HDR)
or
1440p, 120Hz, 8-bit (SDR)
or
1440p, 120Hz, 10-bit (HDR) with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling
That's pretty complicated, and it's not clear to me that there's any way to tell the Xbox which of those "formats" I want it to use if I choose the "120Hz" option in a game, and I don't have an HDMI 2.1 set. Yes, I could go into the settings before I play each 120Hz-capable game, and choose a resolution of either 1080p or 1440p, but then I'd have to go back in and change the resolution back to 4k (60Hz) when I wasn't playing a 120Hz game. That would probably get old.
It's not true about that being the only ssd choice for Xbox. It's confirmed there will be various options from third parties.
