Great comment. 26 years old with over 200 appearances for united and people start talking about him like he’s this hidden gem because he’s scored 2 goals and then a disallowed one for Scotland. Literally every untied fan loves Scott but knows that he’s one of the most incosistent players you’ll ever see and can’t be relied on to start every week for that reason.
Doesnt help Fernandes and Eriksen are ahead of him in the position he actually plays best.
He started out of his position always...he needs a bellingham kind of a role with the freedom to go forward...he aint a cdm

“Why would you not give him an opportunity”. Speaking as if he doesn’t already get starts. He’ll never be a starter though, scoring 2 goals late is very different to controlling a midfield for 90 minutes which I’ve never seen Scott do. I like him as a united fan but he’ll never be a started unless he learns to show for the ball and pass the ball forward.
I hope we get some yaya toure offers in January.

Totally. He was a CAM for most of his time in the youth squads up until he reached the 1st team
it's only because he grew about a foot in his final youth level year that they just assumed "oh well he's a big lad, he must be a defensive player now". As hard as it is to believe, when he was a youth player he was actually short for his age for most of his youth career, so he was seen more as a technical midfielder.
The genuine difference is Scotlands current squad have a club mentality and all the players want to be there and play for each other. At Man United it’s toxic just now. I’m a McTominay fan but he’s not a top 6 player but reckon he would be a good starter for the majority of PL teams. I hoped Celtic would’ve got him on loan as he would’ve done a job

He had multiple games at Manchester United especially when he was a guarantee starter under Ole and most of his games are shocking performance after shocking performance.
