I like how Keane stays quiet, then the conversation dies down and he says to Gary 'They won't win the league', fanning the flames of the argument, then slipping back into standby mode.
Absolutely, and he’s exactly right. No one cares if you have a couple of 5-0’s when you win the league and it can absolutely be put down as a freak result but this can’t because what’s been shown is that this UTD Team are not anywhere near the standard of teams like Liverpool or City when they play well. There’s actually nothing wrong with that, I just don’t know why Gary can’t admit it.

To be fair I get what Neville is saying. I also think that this was more of a case of Utd falling apart and everything falling Liverpool's way than Liverpool playing amazing football and I say that as a Liverpool fan. The fact that they scored 7 from an xG of 2.92 is more evidence of that.

Absolute destruction of a team that was extremely confident and "in-form" at the time, whilst Liverpool was "out of form". 7-0. The score doesnt lie. It was indicative of the real gap between the sides when the pressure is on. We are seeing how poor United are in that regard and in terms of mentality and attitude now. I don't usually agree with Neville but he's bang on! That team irrespective of that result has played well for 2 months! Obviously Souness wants to enlarge the situation hoping that the media circus grows to increase negativity and confidence issues within those Utd players! Standard.
The 7-0 loss will be the subject of banter for a lifetime but the fact remains it was 3 points lost and it may of been 7 up but we are still above Liverpool with a trophy and looking down! As a United fan, the only game that reminded me of was when we beat Arsenal 8-2 back in 2011. Liverpool scored from virtually every chance they created in the same way we did that day. Make no mistake, Liverpool produced some excellent attacking play yesterday, but it takes two to tango and United weren't up to it.
Difference was the United team that won 8-2 was actually very good team, this liverpool team is battling for Europe right now

I agree with both of them, just I think they are using different meanings of it being a 'freak' result. Certainly its a freak because if they redo that match, its rarely gonna be 7-0, but its not a freak result if you think about the team and past results as a whole, where it has happened against other teams

Ironic that Souness, backed up by the bias in the studio, said it wasn't a freak result, and yet at 2:34 there's a graphic showing just how rare that result is. I don't support either team, but Gary is right, it is a complete freak result. The problem is that the Liverpool pundits got triggered that phrase, and misunderstood the point Gary was trying to make: that it's incredibly rare to get a 7-0 either way in that fixture, and that Man Utd basically gave up after 4 goals. Pretty unprofessional punditry from the Liverpool side, who were too busy gloating and talking over Neville to grasp his point.
