It's nice to hear, how mentally Scott had managed to cope going through the ranks at Manchester United, being able to the big players around him and the entrance of going on the pitch at Old Teafford listening to the 75,000, fans applauding the team, the buzz he must of got feeling this moment. Just hope the team can get more consistency now. Come on Scott let's be that leader on the pitch, it definitely needs one.

When he talked about young players coming through and their passion - ultimately Scott came through the academy and whether we think he's our best player or not, you can't blame him for wanting to continue to play for his boyhood club. There's no doubt he cares for the club.

Where Scott talks about self doubt, he’s so humble and seems so down to earth and normal, it’s great he’s so open and honest and very relatable. It’s nice to know people in positions such as Scott also struggle with normal doubts and worries. Massive mctominay fan

He lived all of our dream. Supported Man Utd, got SAF backing from early on, and played for us, clutch performances. I just want this team to win PL or UCL as they deserve it. Him, Bruno, Rashford, Shaw etc. Great guy.

Lots of negative comments about Scott but this guy lives and breathes Man United. He is a great pro with the right attitude and mentality. He might not be as naturally gifted as others but he more than compensates for it by being ultra competitive and a really good team player. Makes me fed up when I read so much negativity by contributors here and so-called football expert you tubers who make destructive comments about McTominay because they’ve got an agenda against him. If we had more in the team with his positivity and can-do attitude, we’d be better off. As I say, not the most gifted but sets the right example. Well done Scott.

I know a lot of people will disagree but stats don't lie and stats say he is well above average for a premier league midfielder. He would walk into 3/4 of the teams in the league and be one of their best players. Just look at him for Scotland.

This have always been a big issue with Scotty. He played as striker in his academy days but it was Jose that promoted him to the first time and tries to mold him into a CDM to replace Matic or some kind of box to box midfielder due to his height and physique. Ole, Ralf and ETH continue to played him as midfielder. As fans watching him all these years, we all agree his not a great midfielder. I feel like he should played as a striker with his good scoring form.

First off, it's sentimentality. And secondly, you think United isn't founded on sentiment? We have a statue of a man who was given his Last Rights twice after a plane crash front opposite a statue of our three greatest players. We have a record number of local lads in the top two leagues and no team has played more Academy products more consistently.
We are a sentimental club, because we're founded on specific values. Without those values, in fact, we're nothing.
You think it's McTominay that's caused the rot? It's precisely the opposite; bringing in 70million retirees who have zero loyalty to United and work us for a bumper contract.

The conversation shouldn't be about passion, character, commitment or whatever platitude you want to throw in, he ultimately is paid (lots of money) to a better than average footballer, which he is most certainly not, the fact that he has all these other qualities is less to his credit and more an indictment of football players at large. Imagine if a plumber showed up to your place not knowing how to properly turn a wrench but showed a lot of gumption and drive.... you'll no doubt appreciate the extra spice but still call him out for not being able to do the basics of his job.
That's Scott in a nutshell, doesn't matter how much you run, at his age and position he should be able to receive the ball on the turn, control it and progress it forwards.
Also why is valid criticism so anathema to footballers? they have no problem receiving praise, but the instance you call someone for having the first touch of league 1 player then all of a sudden its not on?
Scott McTominay is an apt example of the sheer decline Man United has had this decade and a half, we came from underrated world class midfielders to overrated championship players like this.

That was brilliant; thank you, Scott. I am a Manchester United fan who often criticises your performances (justifiably so, I think). But today, in this podcast, it has shown that as football fans, we need to remember that you guys are only human (somebody's son, daughter, brother, sister) - strangely, this is something we can forget due to the emotion and tribalism football carries. Now I can see why Robbie Savage respects you so much.

He was a forward player until chosed to play in the midfield because of his physical, not ability wise… it’s not his fault because of that, but guilty to want to play anywhere he was told… he’s professional in training & behave to himself on & off the pitch… there’s a reason why Jose, Ole, Rangnick & now Erik picked him over other players that “childish”… no doubt if SAF still managing these players, he will choose McTominay over most players…

From an early age he has been happy to just play and in his own words whether it was a good or bad game got in the car home with a smile on his face.
Real competitors and winners don't smile home after losing or a shit performance.

Every team needs a player that can come in and do a job and never complains. You can bet if Sir Alex is managing now, Scott will be in his squad.
