    Super clean build !! Great work, your daughter is very blessed!!! Can’t wait to to see what it runs

      Thanks. We had the throttle backed off for her 1st year. When I ran it, it went 11.73 so should be in the 60s with her. She did very well with it for her 1st year. Picked up 2 wins and a R/U.

    Not to understate I love what you built. I'm getting ready to start the assembly part on my white 94 Sonoma ext cab. I'll be installing a complete Painless wire harness as it's going to be a street /strip truck, Quick Performance 9" with Detroit locker, 35 spline and 3.55 gears with complete Caltracs system, 4L80E 3000/3200 stall with lock up convertor and balloon plate. For engine i'm going 10.7 to 1 399ci 17* stroker 1st Gen SBC, dynoed on 89 but will be running 91 pump. I anticipate having as much fun with my Sonoma as I expect your daughter to have with her S-10. Great job Dad!...............Shooting for mid 10's N/A and mid 9's on the juice. I noticed you mention the Strange brake master cylinder and assume you feel comfortable with it letting your daughter drive the truck, would you feel comfortable with it for a daily driver? Would you mind letting me know the rear rim offset you used due to the fact i'm sure we have identical axle housings.? Due to the fenderwell headers i'm thinking I might have a different offset for the front. What line lock are you using, I like how clean the install looks.

    • @718racer1
      @718racer1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't feel comfortable with her driving this on the street. It's just too radical and things could get ugly quick. Rim is 8" with 4" offset. Line lock is Jegs brand. Thanks for viewing.

    As a proud owner of 2 xtremes. I think your truck is very bad ass. Suck it's not street legal tho but we know😉

  • @mewrongwayKOCXF
    @mewrongwayKOCXF 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Love the truck but is the solid throttle rod a good idea? Know a guy that did basically the same thing and one day a motor mount failed, the motor twisted and cocked the throttle wide open.

    • @718racer1
      @718racer1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow. Never thought of that.

      @@718racer1 The 67 Camaro had the issue as well. Driver side clam shell engine mount would come apart under heavy load and engine would raise on that side opening the carb in the process and down the road i went! 😲

    • @718racer1
      @718racer1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mewrongwayKOCXF so rather than fix the throttle, i think i will fix what breaks. The engine mount. Go to a solid mount.

      I am not sure. The engine/trans was already swapped.

    How did you make your dash with the gauges in it? I’m interested in doing the same.

    • @718racer1
      @718racer1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I took the stock cluster and removed the lexan cover and the guts. Used only the mounting shell. Traced around the shell to make the gauge panel from aluminum. I can send you pics if you share email address.
