- A single mom contacted me by phone with a request to trim a sprawling beech hedge and remove some wild bushes. I assumed from the photo that it would take a couple of hours, so after work my assistant and I arrived at the address and was shocked to see that the entire yard was almost completely overgrown, the grass was very thick, the sidewalk was also completely overgrown with weeds, and the hedge was more than 60 cm away from the fence. She told me that she hadn't taken care of the yard in almost four years because of her full-time job, so I asked permission to do a video shoot and offered to do the extra work for free! The whole job took me about 10 hours, meaning I did it over three working days in the evenings.

Sometimes people need a kind hand. You no not what the future holds. These guys are doing a good deed. Thank God for them.

Correction: single moms are tired. A job, kids, laundry, cooking, cleaning. No time for herself. She needs help with the yard. Thank goodness these men went beyond and gave her help. I’m sure she was so grateful. Thank you for your services.
Naw… I was a single mom of two, full time nursing student working three jobs. My yard never looked like this. This is laziness.
People are full of excuses today. I would find a way before I could exist like that. Today they have life easy everything is push button dry clothes in dryer never cook. This is insane, that is just a case of not caring. The kids couldn’t even go outside to play.

The one guy. Is doing twice the amount of work. I have watched many of these videos I have never seen any of them work that hard at manual labour, unbelievable. He works too hard. I’ll bet they don’t even offer a tea, water.
When I started watching this video I thought the property must belong to an elderly person who loved gardening, but it had become all too much for them physically - hence the totally overgrown jungle. THEN I read your description. Wow! A person with a full time job could have and should have paid for upkeep every few months. Thanks to your generosity and hard work they get another chance. I hope they look after the garden now.
Thank you for watching the video and commenting. The customer told me on the phone that she couldn't pay much and asked me to cut only the hedge and tear out the bushes, but we decided to do a little more. I too hope she keeps the yard in order now!👍
I thought the same. It looked like a myriad of garden ideas were going on. When I read deeper and found out she got a divorce, it ALL made sense. Resources are strained with one income. Let's not forget the mental toll divorce takes. Depression sets in pretty hard. You are taking care of a child and their needs. Yours gets buried somewhere along the line, much less trying to take care of a yard. That's when your village should step in and help. Surely, someone in the neighborhood could have helped her. Thank you, yes when we saw this overgrown yard we wanted to clean it up a bit. It was very hot on the first day, and it was the third address we worked at, so we were a bit exhausted!

I am so glad that you had some good help with this!!! There was so much to do, and it looked like it was very hot. Also, trying to dig up those bushes in soil that was as hard as a rock had to be backbreaking. It looked so nice when you finished. Because of the hard work you do some of it voluntary I think that a company should donate a nice ride on mower, it would be good advertising for them, or some rich person could also contribute because they give to charity they would be contributing to a wonderful cause. wow! it reminded me of what we see here in america. we see more neglected and abandoned yards than you do. You did an amazing job with what you had. I would have brought in a dumpster and carted off with the rubble and broken trampoline just to make it more beautiful. Seems sad it took four years til you could make a difference. I think that's the first truly messy and cluttered property with actual rubbish everywhere that I've seen since watching you. It made your job infinitely harder, having to always move things and consolidate them into piles before you could trim or mow. But you managed to make things so much better, all mown and raked and trimmed and tidied up. Now she just needs to marshal her kids and get the trash and junk gathered up and out to be picked up by the city so your hard work can really shine! 🌻🍂💛🍂🌻
Thank you so much Lucinda, I think this is the first heavily overgrown yard I've ever worked in. The yard was in a bad state of disrepair as the homeowner couldn't keep it up due to her full time job, but now she will be able to do it and I have already seen this week that some of the junk has been taken to the dump, so she has a chance to start again! 😀

Aw, that's great news! Maybe she had become so overwhelmed by it that she stopped even going out there and had become blind to how much junk there was. I'm happy for her that she's picking up the things you couldn't deal with so she can truly enjoy her space.

What a monster of a job! Four years of no yard maintenance!!! Wow! It appeared your helper may have gotten some heat exhaustion. This past summer has been rough. Here in Texas it was consistently the 100+F (37+C) and super dry. But all that aside...what a great transformation. Cheers Guys

That's right this day was a heat of 35+C, and it was the third address where we had to work, so my assistant is very overheated, it's good that we have such heat is not often otherwise the work was very hard I can not imagine how you can withstand such a temperature all the time! I can never comprehend how people can let their properties get such a wreck. This one has SO much potential. This turned into a huge job with very laborious work taking out established trees and bushes as well as trimming and mowing. It still needs a lot of garden work, but you got her off to a great start. Excellent job! All the work you did looks beautiful.

that was a bigger job than you anticipated. grass was long, to many things in the way, shrubs so overgrown and it would seem that there were last minute items added to the list. looks very nice now. i would do some decluttering , empty plant planters, left over potting soils, and clean that outdoor room to enjoy more in the winter months. Love the end results.
Thank you, there really is still a lot of work to be done there, but we have done at least some of it, the homeowner is already in the process of cleaning up the yard.
Can you do a follow up video to see if she has kept her promise to clean up her trash and maintain the yard? Sometimes, if you don’t know what you are doing you need someone to help you get a fresh start. You are an extremely talented and hard worker.

This was an incredible effort and you did a really meticulous and brilliant job. You really opened up the space so much. I think the owner will see that the unused junk needs to still go so that the visual clutter is reduced ….and it will also become so much easier for her to maintain.

Watching this breaks my heart, because you clearly see evidence of better happier times; a garden planned out, play equipment for kids, a patio with a chiminea. SO MANY people are on hard times right now, MANY are suffering with major illness or the grief of losing loved ones in the last few years. This inspires me to offer my help to neighbors in my own neighborhood and community. People are just worn out and really need some grace ☺️ Thank you for what you do!
