What's beautiful about this one scene is that you could have ANY of the Doctors act this scene and it would be perfect because this one scene PERFECTLY encapsulates who the Doctor is and what the Doctor's story is. It captures the emotions and the memories the Doctor has lived through and it is nothing less than an absolute masterpiece of a scene.
I actually have a long theory about the doctors regeneration and the new one where he revisted an old face. I dont think he was ever suppose to turn into the other new doctors. I think BAD WOLF effected his regenerations because those 3 men were required to be there when THE MOMENT was in use and the decision to destroy of save galifrey was made. Now that The Doctor has cycled around, its time to see the faces he would have turned into without Bad Wolfs influence.
@CircuitReborn that would certainly explain why despite the doctor being mentioned to have crap control over regenerations, he was still able to turn into 12 to remind himself to save as many as possible
Somewhere in the multiverse, the 6th Doctor used this speech as the choir plays, made viewers cry, making a huge impact, and Colin Baker stayed playing as the Doctor a little longer.
Not every one of them could do it because the time lords extinction happened during the war doctors time therefore, any incarnations before this would not know about this
I love the stark difference between Matt and David reading this. 11 is a sad man, desperate for relief to his pain and even in his desire to destroy this evil you can hear his hope that this will finally end his suffering, and 10 is a condemnation, defiance to this would-be god. Matt was a darkness that poisoned the star, David is a fire of defiance that swallowed it.
Smith was like a person who found the only person who can take all his pain and understand it. The Tennant voice makes him sound more like a person whos found the only entity in the universe who deserves it
Interesting, and you might be right. I got the impression that Smith's Doctor was pretty cross when he did this scene though. The words at the beginning suggest that as well. Definitely interesting to hear Tennant interpret it though.
@@DoctorWhoReeves Yeah, David Tenant is actually my second favorite, with Matt Smith barely edging him out. Funny thing is, I was expecting to hate Matt Smith, for replacing David Tenant, but after his first episode, I was like, "Alright, I can give this Doctor a chance, he's goofy, in a good way, but still has the badass in him when he needs it. No way in hell is he ever going to fully fill Tenant's shoes though." But as 11 made his way through his stories, I liked him more and more, and soon enough, I was actually debating whether I preferred him to Tenant or not. And then we reached this episode, this speech. And that was the moment I made up my mind that yes, 10 might be the favorite of the general fandom, but for me... 11 is my favorite. Peter Capaldi, I did hate for a bit, just because of the fact he replaced Matt Smith, but he ultimately won me over, not as my favorite, never that, but as a pretty damn good Doctor nonetheless.

I've often thought if you we're to put this speech in a different light, one could be positioned to believe the Doctor is speaking to himself. Like 'You like to think you're a god but you're not.' or 'Eatining out in jealousy and envy and longing for the lives of others.' But I never felt that Matt's could be used that way, due to the very sorrowful tone. Not to say his performance isn't great, It's supurb. However I feel like your's does sound like the Doctor isn't just shouting at the old god. To me it can be said he's accusing himself of being a parasite aswell. And he's practically begging the old god to take his memories and pain away so that perhaps he can start again or just get some end to the pain. Exemptional work my friend i feel you have the essence of Tennet like lighting in a bottle. You might say it's Fantastic ♥️♥️.
As much as I love 10 I gotta be honest I don’t think anyone but Matt could do this speech justice. Sure it’s a speech that would fit any doctor. But it’s not a speech that would fit any actor. The way Matt delivers each word. His anger sorrow and heartache echoed in every syllable. I felt every single word he spoke when I first watched it and I still do to this day
Matt Smith version was really good but this is magical. Sounds exactly how the 10th doctor would do it. I have heard most of the doctors do this & they are all good in their own way but this is version is at the very top...

Much as I love Tennant as the Dr. Smith just nailed this speech.
👍
Never considered it that way, that's an interesting read of it. Thank you!
@@DoctorWhoReeves Glad to add a different perspective, Great job once again 👏.
That was amazing, Jack!
Thank you!
I felt every single word he spoke when I first watched it and I still do to this day
It was written for Matt, no way anyone could sell it the way he did
I love the fact you added or removed some words to work with 10
@@RoseQueen69420 Was a fun challenge figuring out how to make those small tweaks 😄
Now with 14th Doctor around I wouldn’t mind a Doctor Who: What If series that covered a moment like this
I wouldn’t put it past em!
Matt Smith version was really good but this is magical. Sounds exactly how the 10th doctor would do it. I have heard most of the doctors do this & they are all good in their own way but this is version is at the very top...
Thank you kindly! Was a fun challenge making this, glad it paid off!
I watched this yesterday and while I think Matt did a good job, I couldn’t help but think that this whole speech reminded me of 10 and wondering how David would have approached this scene… Today I find this video 😮
Welcome
Now imagine this done by the 13th doctor
You'll someone a bit more feminine to bring that to life XD
it would've been a brilliant final episode honestly
The Doctors performing each other speeches, don't ever quite work. But it's nice to hear,
This guy had me fooled up until "don't forget to subscribe"
THIS GUY FOOOOOLED YOU! Mwahahaha!
@@DoctorWhoReeves all the best to you. Brilliant impression.
Though i like David tennant and his narrative of this speech I'm more of the thought that every doctor has their moments that make them stand apart from them others. This was one Matt Smith's greatest doctor moments.
I pretend to hear Crowley saying this To God in Hazbin Hotel
The triple crossover we all deserve
@@DoctorWhoReeves and Need
Even though 11th is my doctor, you nailed this speech as 10th!
Thank you! Quite proud of this one ☺️
All the doctors have this speech down prefection.
I am The Doctor now
Jesus, that's good! Well done, bud!
High praise coming from the 10th Doctor Voice MASTER! That honestly means a lot coming from you! Thank you!
Your turn Ncuti, you got this
This was actually amazing.
Thank you kindly!
Wow. That was amazing
Thanks!
beautiful
@@100air Thanks!
Wait?! This was an impression??? I actually thought this was DT doing the lines 😮 bravo!
Or maybe I AM David Tennant! Plot twist
A little bit of 7 vibes in this, too. This is great!
Now that’s a Doctor I WISH I could do an impression of!
David great job. 👏👏👏👏
It wasn’t David 🤫 It was ME
Someone should really send this to David Tennant
That’s the dream!
Seconded on a comment I saw a few times already-but when I was first recommended this I figured it must be one of those AI recreations and had no interest. I’m very glad I saw it again! What a fantastic job! You really nail the voice :)
Boo too A.I.! Thank you for giving it a shot and enjoying it :)
