Adam I don't want to spoil your new toy. FYI: I saw Nick Fish has CF numbers on his new Old Town Autopilot 120, so I questioned him on it. I did some more checking and I found this at DMV:
What type of boats/vessels have to be registered with DMV?
Any boat or vessel that you can use to transport yourself on water, such as a:
Sail-powered boat/vessel that is over eight feet long.
Vessel/boat with a motor (no matter how big it is).
If you bought your boat/vessel from an out-of-state seller, or if you recently moved to California, you need to register your boat/vessel with DMV within 120 days of bringing it into the state.
There are some boats/vessels that do not have to be registered:
Canoes, rowboats, or any boats/vessels that use paddles or oars
Sailboats shorter than eight feet long
    Sailboards or parasails
    A ship’s lifeboat
    Seaplanes on the water
Boats that run on a track, such as amusement park rides
Floating structures that are tied to land and use power, water, and a sewage system on the shore.
Dinghies must be registered with DMV.
Houseboats that have a motor must be registered with DMV.
Have fun with your new toy.

Use some Salt Away in your sprayer prior to rinsing with fresh water and your after-salt cleaning will be that much more effective. Salt Away on everything that touched the salt water first, then rinse liberally.

    • @fishhunt9874

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Exactly. Water rinses off minimal amounts of salt once it has sat in the sun. I keep a Hudson sprayer with Salt-Away in water in the back of my truck. After I launch my boat I spray down my dual disc brakes and torsion axles when I park my trailer. The boat and trailer then both get rinsed with a hose end unit with Salt Away at the wash down area then a full rinse again when I get home.

Definitely maintenance is important when fishing in the salt. The old Towne is a great kayak and I have made a few adjustments to mine. Very educational, thanks Adam. Googan Rock's.

At 1:11 " You've moved on from simpler times of peddling - to motors" Soon you will move on to real boats. More stable, more room, better range, faster and it doesn't necessarily mean it will be overly expensive, especially since you can take a friend that will/should help and chip in.

As discussed in earlier comments the minnow style Jerk bait is probably the most used artificial in the world. Some version of it has been sold at least from the 50s or 60s 😊

Came here for this comment. Been watching the videos past couple days and he’s holding all these non keepers or fish he knows he’s not keeping out of the water while he goes on these rants of useless information. Just put the fish back and then say whatever you’d like to say.

There is no reason to even bring the shakers in the boat. They flop around and hurt themselves.

    • @Nik-gh6gz
      @Nik-gh6gz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Agree with all y’all. Not tryna diss you dhf, just be more careful with the fish you aren’t keeping, because even if a fish swims away, mortality rates are much higher unless you institute the best handling practice.

6:21 if it’s not a keeper, you shouldn’t have used it as a talking point for so long, let it go and then tell the people what you want to say. Just because a fish swims away doesn’t mean it will survive.

I don't know of any farmers that spray roundup on their crops 🤣
And utilizing dielectric grease at the fittings may be helpful. Terminals corrode the most when they are in the presence of salt water and carrying a current. I've seriously seen it happen on a damaged kicker motor wire exposed to salt.
