1/350 HMS CALCUTTA [Trumpeter] - Part 1/3

Good morning.
Yeah, I can't listen to my voice in this video either. It will get better with every next one. I promise.
However, I invite you to watch this video where we will start building the 1/350 Trumpeter HMS Calcutta warship. In the first of three parts, we will make the hull with railings and paint it with basic colors. We will also do the painting of the wooden deck. I won't give away any more details. Beautiful work. I was gluing a 1/32 plane kit and taped the fuselage together; unfortunately I was a little too liberal with the extra thin glue and capillary action followed the tape and wiped out panel lines, rivets and anything else near the now glued on tape!😂 Your method seems a bit more “controlled”. Thanks for sharing your build with us. Can’t wait to see how she turns out! M

Absolutely magnificent build 👏, I look forward to seeing more of your builds. What did you use to make the deck plank masks? Really like how you've done the deck.

Thank you. I used regular masking tape cut into small pieces to mask the planks. All I can say is to wait for my next video, which will be all about the wooden deck.

What size of the masking tape did you use to create waterline?

if you have ever been on a ship you will see the decks are not brown, they weather down to a grey colour.

i use mr surfacer my airbrus,this stuff not come out 0,23 needle ,hell what mess..never used.....

What was the third color you used for the deck?

I don't remember, but is very light, so it seems to be Deck tan (Vallejo)
