    most enjoyable to watch. Please let the penguin appear in all vids. May I suggest a JLC razor saw would be a useful addition to your tools, they make removing parts which under tension on the sprue much easier to remove, without the risk of them breaking in two.

      Thank you Very much! The penguin is always around on my desk because of his excellent round shapes and PE bending properties, so he will have more appearances!
      Sounds good, with the small tubes, masts and other thin parts, one of those in the kit actually broke while removing, so this is a great tip, thanks

    Excellent! The camouflage pattern was perfect. Also excellent work on the PE parts. Great build and video 👍👍. Keep up the outstanding work.

    I play WoWs Blitz and the HMS Caledon is the tier 3 cruiser and Calcutta was also part of the C class cruisers both Caledon and Calcutta are c class ships

    Trumpeter is amazing. Don't understand how they can be producing so many different ship models. It is a far departure from the old days when Revell, Monogram, Airfix, Tamiya, Hasegawa, etc. dominated the market.

      They are my favourite model company, they have such a wide sortiment and also some more curious things like prototype tanks or smaller ship classes

      It's because Trumpeter are first and foremost: a university. Hence the prodigious output and interesting subjects. The downside, is that some projects get their "A" team and are excellent in every way (such as their '350 HMS Dreadnought), others are just done by students, so can be full of inaccuracies. Their HMS Repulse is one such example.

    Nice job on the camo paint, love it! Looks like a nice kit, I'll put it on my list, about to start a Tamiya PoW with wooden decks and full PE. Never used either of those before, or an Airbrush, wish me luck!

      Thanks very much! i really enjoyed this kit as well, nothing overly complicated and a great fit and detail. I have done the Tamiya 1/350 PoW with a wooden deck, what a coincidence! i've shown how i applied the wooden deck, which can be a little harder when doing it the first time, if you want to watch that video as well! (I also have only done three wooden decks and am no expert)

    Brilliant Video - and very informative - thanks for making it - I just wish Flyhawk would release the new-tool 1/350 HMS Prince of Wales Model Kit , they announced in 2018 !

      Thank you! glad you like it! the tamiya prince of wales is not very up to date anymore, a new mold in 1/350 would be very welcome! but with flyhawks prices, i can't imagine what a 1/350 battleship would cost

    Looks great! I am going to build this kit, but back date it to its pre-WWII configuration. Restoring the six inch guns (after market) and removing some of the anti-aircraft armament.

    You really like having a good fit, then I suggest NOT buying an Airfix model because I got one and the only parts that fit together was the fuselage (it was a plane)

    • @funinscale2892
      @funinscale2892  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I enjoy well fitting models cause i'm not the most competent filling user, so better the model doesnt need it in the first place! I think airfix often uses very old molds in new boxes which might then be badly fitting, but i have some 1/600 ships from airfix on my stash, maybe i can have a look at one soon and annoy myself with it :)

    lovely build bit why no handrail?

    • @funinscale2892
      @funinscale2892  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only added the railings that the kit provided, they were only included for the superstructure, the railings on the ship's perimeter are sadly not included in the kit - and i wanted to do an out-of-the-box build with this quite new kit

    Just curious, do you happen to know the brand of figures you used? Looking to get some for my new Trumpeter 1/350 HMCS Huron..

    • @funinscale2892
      @funinscale2892  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aiden! Thpse figures are made by Fujimi, but they can be hard to acquire outside Japan, i had ordered them directly from Japan and waited over a month for them. Tamiya also has 1/350 plastic figures, but they are less well made than those (cheaper and more easily accessible, though)

    One question about attachment of p e . Do you ever use kicker for superglue when attaching p e ?

    • @funinscale2892
      @funinscale2892  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not familiar with Kicker, is it a fast-hardener for superglue? If so, no i tried baking soda once and will probably never do it again as it makes huge blobs of soda-glue mix. And superglue with gel consistency provides an instant adhesion with PE and plastic parts. i used liquid superglue before, but there i had the problem that the pe parts changed position before hardening

    • @georgedistel1203
      @georgedistel1203 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes its a instant accelerator for superglue. I usually fit parts as close as I can . Then I add superglue to part and attach it but if it has trouble adhering I add a small amount of kicker and its stuck instantly but can still be broken off if handled roughly.

    • @funinscale2892
