About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

It's impossible to imagine better acting coming from O'Connor and Stapleton. They were beyond brilliant.
So true, I am honored to have been around to see magic in action.
You got that right. Stapleton played her character well. How talented she was to play Edith.
They were so believable and real! I was a child when this aired but watching it now I really see the deeper meaning.
They weren’t brilliant. They didn’t write the stuff. They just assume a character. You give too much credit.
The toilet flush punctuating a moment was always a great touch.
The acting and writing on this show was off the charts!
Edith had real values that she stuck to. That made her strong. She was happy to cook and clean and do things for Archie. Just don't go too far or go against her values.
When Edith slapped him that was so funny. Wow, and unexpected.
I was so happy and proud of Edith for standing up for herself. She wasn't stupid nor naive.❤
In hindsight a guy like Archie is very lucky to have a partner like Edith by his side
Hindsight. Foresight. Insight and out of sight!
He told her before she died "... I ain't nothin without you".
Not too many people appreciate women like Edith which is why so many of them are existing less and less.
This is peak Norman Lear energy on display. Impeccable script writing and four all-time acting greats to match! 😎
Carrol wrote most of Archie's lines by the way!
Edith was stronger than ppl gave her credit for. Archie always underestimated her. Plus he looks her in the eye & lies to her. He use to try to make a fool out of her & get away w/stuff but truth always prevails
Agreed and she is the wisest character on the show. Watch her quickly deduce that Archie was with a woman.
@@jrewing1512 Yep also a woman's gut instinct. I luv Edith
You realize this was a TV show right?
I hope GLOW WORM didn't win.
@@HipsterDoofus100Shocking, isn't it? Who ever heard of someone discussing a tv shows plot and characters?
It was Glow-Worm in the 5th 👋 😆!
“ it was glow worm in the fifth!”
Ooohhh Awwchie!!!
I remember watching this the night it aired. Shocking to say the least and I was just 13 or so.
Having Edith slap Archie was brilliant writing.
He Deserved It!
Glow worm in the fifth!
Yes, I can imagine the script said something like, "Edith slaps Archie".
It's almost like reading Shakespeare...
She didn’t slap him hard enough!
she should not hit him. Archie never hit Her
@@jeanbeget With that generation, it was permissible for a woman to slap a man but a man was never allowed to hit a woman.
I haven't played the lottery numbers in about a year. I didn't spend alot of money on it; I would just play once in a while. But, I have gamblers in my family. So, I was getting scared of becoming a gambler- holic. So I don't play anymore. Even when POWERBALL is in the millions, I refuse to play. Too scary for me.
Wise decision. I'm the same with alcohol.
I got to be honest with you on this. I think that slap from Edith was long long overdue
I agree with you. At times Archie Bunker was mean to Edith. I wanted to slap myself.
Archie's *FLUSH* should be included in *The Ending Credits* 🙃
Once a gambler always a gambler
Pete Rose or Kenny Rogers?
@ Mike, I managed to quit betting NFL games 30 years ago when I lost a few paychecks. That was with mob controlled bookies. The vig always used to piss me off. I never looked back. Now that you can bet games legally online, I was tempted once or twice. Then I imagine running up huge debts, that enough to resist the urge. Plus I live on a fixed income now, no more volunteering for eztra overtime at work.
It's the sickness............
It reminds me of a movie, where some guys bet on a dog in a dog race; but the dog they chose, actually stopped in the middle of the race and crapped. lol. All the other dogs were going 80 mph in a circle around him. lost the money, big time.
Would love to watch entire episodes instead of bits and pieces. Really enjoy watching All In the Family, even more now than when it first aired. I remember how controversial it was. It had a real shock factor.
There are some shows on ⭐️dailymotion⭐️
It's now on Amazon Prime
Jean's character expected the best of everyone. Almost everyone would try to live up to her expectations. Carrol O'Connor's character had to learn. And did.
Stupid the pole. 😂
Edith is such a sweet lady
What Did Edith's 5 Fingers Say To Archie's Face?😅😅😅😅
I'm not a gambler, but it really can get addicting...Edith makes great points about Archie using entire paychecks just to gamble.
I barely even play slots, and not even mobile slot games attract me.
I'm not a gambler either. Because I always lose. I mean ALL the time. Casinos, lottery, you name it. Not even a little win once in a while LOL
WOW! Was I glad to see Edith slap Archie! The truth is, he deserved that slap for many many years for how he mistreated Edit. Like that time he forged her name on a bank statement to get a bank loan to buy Kelsey's saloon!!!!❤❤❤❤
Its only gambling when you lose
Thanks!

Mike what a question to ask what sickness , it is a known fact any addiction is a sickness
You have to remember that this was 50 years ago. Habitual gambling wasn't thought of as an addiction, illness or disease back then. That wouldn't come about until 1980.
I never saw this episode, I wish I could see the full episode from the beginning.....
Freevee has all the seasons of All In The Family
Edith was sweet but a very justifiable temper.
Good gamblers don't lose alot of money.
you just don't get it. the second someone chooses to gamble there's the possibility of losing everything. it's like smoking. someone thinks they may be able to quit when they start to lose but the truth is they've already lost the moment the decision to gamble was made. winning only turns them into a bigger loser in the long run.
n o w No. LOL
4:50😂😂😂😂
1:17😂😂😂😂
Love this set design. viva Norman Lear.
Amazes me this show SOLD!
Any habit like gambling becomes an obsession because the person taken captive it can't help or stop themselves. The spellbound captive needs help from his friends and family that care about him. I agree that these obsessions are like a sickness. If you are in this position go get help you can't handle on your may God help you and deliver you from this evil mindset in the name of Jesus.
Edith let Archie get away with a lot of things but this she wasn't going to let go.
What is the name of this episode of this show?
Archie the Gambler it's in the description of the video.

This was a good episode, but it makes no sense. There are many other episodes where Archie gambles.
Like when Gloria had an eating disorder.
But his wife wasn't aware of it.
@@jamesorsby7553 He openly talked about betting with coworkers in a few episodes, made a bet on a
pool game with Irene Lorenzo, even made a bet with Mike about some baseball trivia. He was never secretive about it.
@@ertznay3142 I don't think Edith minded the good natured betting between Archie and Irene or Mike.
Irene was her best friend at the time, and Mike was her son in law, so that's a little bit different than what he was doing in this episode.
@@jamesorsby7553 At the end of this episode, Edith digs out a letter Archie wrote her twenty years ago, in which he stated, and I quote, "I swear to God I will never gamble again". In this episode at least, she minded very much.
Absolute Goddamn television gold !!!!!!!
It is not a sickness it is a sin
Edith was wrong to slap Archie
Edith should not hit Archie
Edith is a damn crybaby and way too dramatic
