  • DIY Nissan X-Trail Lift Kit Installation:
    This is how I went around installing new springs (King Springs) on to the struts of my 2004 Xtrail.
    Some basic tools needed and plenty of time; Took me approx 7-8 hours.
    The results are as expected. Ride quality has hugely improved in steering, cornering, body roll and overall handling.
    A wheel alignment was performed after installation and highly recommended.
    Spring Part numbers needed:
    Front spring: KDFR-46
    Rear spring: KDRR-47
    Struts:
    Front R: 35-0550
    Front L: 35-0551
    Rear R: 35-0552
    Rear L: 35-0553
    Thanks to family friend: Henry Plawecki for help in borrowing some tools.
    Enjoy;

    Hello friends, so good and decent execution of reverse engineering with replacement suspension process is a breathtaking job, the only thing I would like to do for X trail lovers is to do a professional assembly of the vertical geometry of the wheels, otherwise 5* for me. Hello everyone and with wishes for a nice day and good health, goodbye Codiak😊

    I just bought the same set for my xtrail. Had a lot of help installing from you vid thanx for that! I have a question though. Is there a driver side and a passengers side spring? The sticker on my package said I should look for markings on the spring but I coudn't find any...
    Cheers, Luc

    Great job. Are those king springs specific for T30? In where I live, I think no king spring for T30 available. Do you think I can just use any king springs?

    Great video mate - have you gotten around to replacing the rubber boot/dust cover?
    Mine's ripped to shreds and kinda I kinda botched the replacement since the old boot was sorta glued to the old bump stop which was glued to the top plate...(the new one isn't glued so it just flops around, but still keeps 90% of the dirt out)

    When towing would these hold up a lot better than the standard factory springs?

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely.
      These have a higher spring rate.

    Great video. I have done simular job but have problems to insert the locking plate that locks the brake hose to the strut...?? Do you have any tips how to do it...?? Shouldn't be the hardest part, but for me it is....

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hold in place with fingers and lightly hit with hammer (otherwise when taking out, use a flat head screw driver and knock out).

      Adrian D Thanks I allready tried that but it gets stuck/ pops out before I am able to insert it correctly... also tried to add some lubrication but with same result.. frustrating... have to go out and try a bIt more today.

    Did this stand you up noticeably? I am looking to gain 2" on my xtrail... bigger tires and spacers. Just beef it up a little bit. I have the LE and I think it would be deadly stoop up a little... and with the Uni Frame it's tricky business.

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes the springs are great. Nice lift and better ride; firmer drive and less roll when turning. I personally would suggest springs compared to spacers as with springs u get the better handling properties as well as the lift (get springs instead of spacers). If your thinking about both, that's definitely not recommended as it can put too much stress on rods/ stabilizer bars/ suspension/ steering etc.

    Hi! Is it a lift spring or is the same height as the OE? I'm planning to buy coils as well for my T30. Thanks!

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lift mate; roughly 40mm higher then OE.
      Definitely get the higher springs. Good ride quality and xtrail will look sick

    Great vid mate! Did you use stock shockies?

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate. No, ive got the Monroe brand shocks. They were brilliant initially and their still dampening really well. Was a good investment.

    • @thisiskian5904
      @thisiskian5904 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      are they the same factory standard shockies? and how is the ride of the car now with those combos.

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, at about 150K I replaced the entire original nissan suspension with monroe struts and king springs.
      Now at 240K ive just replaced the springs as i wanted a higher ride again. The combo with new springs and old struts is fine, handling/ cornering has improved, alittle harasser on potholes due to the firmer springs but i dont want to fork out another $1000 for new struts as im probably going to change cars relatively soonish. Other then that, there definitely is a improvement in overall suspension handling and for around $300 for springs, it dosent get better then that.

    Hey Adrian, quick question mate. Which rear jacking point did you use to chuck your exy up on your stands?

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its between the rear muffler and transfer case (its like a squarish frame with round hollow inside:; linking rear control arms)

      Excellent. Its always been good but not the handling is great; would be even better if the struts were replaced but their good enough.

    • @adriand3753

      I guess you could; theres not lifted shocker ab opinion; it should be fine. But for best performance and handling, its a good idea to do both at the same time.

    • @spoki6311
      @spoki6311 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, it's a T30 :) But do some research, as far as I remember it's not recommended to lift a T31 as even a light lift (up to 1 inch) is too much and may damage some parts. Just be careful !
