How big is primus? Absolutely fucking gigantic. Even a cogless Orion pax (32') would tower over a human, and primus/Cybertron is so massive that relative to the size of the planet, transformers look human sized. It's probably closer to the size of Saturn, so imagine if Saturn could turn into a giant robot and that's about how big primus would be. He's likely incomprehensibly gigantic
Primus might be even bigger than Jupiter. The center of Cybertron, Primus’s “spark” that we see at the end, looks similar to a small dwarf star. That means the surface of the planet, his actual transformed body the makes up the planet, is closer in scale to a star.
Eh, this is not necessarily the case. We don't ever see characters in this movie compared to the whole planet, so it's size is guesswork at best. It could very well be smaller than Earth, which I rather like the idea of, because the relatively lower gravity would suit the massive solid metal robots. I also like it because the characters in this movie run and jump and flip and spin super nimbly. Having Cybertron have lower gravity would make this movie fine, while also letting them seem much "heavier" and impressive compared to humans, whenever they inevitably make it to earth Or the gravity idea could even go in the other direction, that Cybertron is much larger than earth, necessitating larger and stronger beings to traverse it easily Or Cybertron could coincidentally happen to be exactly the same size as earth. Just guesswork really. Basically Primus is just really fucking big lmao As for the other comment about Cybertron being the size of a star...nah. That level of gravity on the surface would crush just about anything into oblivion, and just get stronger the deeper you go. The big glowy ball at the center of the Planet that turns Orion into Optimus is just Primus' spark
I'll plant my flag in the ground here and say that this is the most compelling that Optimus and Megatron have been in the entire 40-year history of the franchise :)
Brian Tyree Henry absolutely *KILLED IT* as Megatron. Frankly, I actually thought D-16's downfall made sense when you remember that it showed how D-16 was always the one who had to cover Orion every time he got into trouble for his reckless ambition, like an older big brother and yet when D-16 tries to de-esculate or resolve one of Orion's mistakes both of them are always punished like when he hid Orion from the guards, or when he took the punch for Orion when he stood up to Darkwing despite D-16 apologising on his behalf. D-16 was genuinely happy being a miner, as he believed the system would be more complacent and introverted than Orion's extroverted, go-getter ambition. D-16 felt like he contributed to society, as he looked up to Sentinel and idolised Megatronous Prime as a symbol of power and strength. You can imagine his pent-up resentment and frustration for Orion, always getting him into trouble. Yet, he still forgives Orion since he knows how much cares about him, like when he got their seats at the Iacon 5000 despite not telling him they'd be participating in the race. You can tell that after learning the dark truth about Sentinel's lies, D-16's entire world absolutely shatters as he was happy as this submissive, simple nerdy bot who believed in the system and his friendship with Orion and his admiration for Megatronous were some of the only things that kept him going, but now he sees how truly naive he was as he and his fellow miners worked themselves to death for a leader that murdered their true heroes and sold his own race out their greatest enemy. D-16 clearly feels betrayed and wants vengeance for all the pain, injustice, and death Sentinel has caused. He doubts that exposing the truth isn't enough for someone as powerful as him to be taken down. D wants to believe that there is a better way, but his rage and hate cloud his mind, and despite that rage, you can tell he still values Orion as his best friend, as he is the only person who treats D with genuine respect. He's motivated by a twisted yearning for justice. If anything, he ultimately lacks self-awareness: in his eyes, he is the hero, even though he wasn't the only one who was lied to; Orion, Elita, Bee and all of Iacon were lied to for generations, and many died just all because of Sentinels manipulation. Megatron was justified in his hatred and vengeance against Sentinel but lost sight of what he was fighting for and let his emotions consume him to the point of no return despite how much he knew Orion cared about him as a good friend, but couldn't fathom why he'd risk his life for a scumbag like Sentinel who took away their rights, their hope, their heroes and sold out his own people, even though D has had to sacrifice everything to save Orion. Thus, he mentally snapped and had enough of covering Orion's back, and now D16 was dead, and only Megatron existed. What is truly sad is that Orion wasn't trying to save Sentinel...he was trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but sadly, D-16 was too far gone, and now only Megatron exists. He can only process it as a personal betrayal on his part because, like I said, it shows D-16 was always there for Orion countless times, all because of his recklessness and ambition and even though D clearly cares about Orion regardless, there's a side of him that still feels frustration and resentment over always getting in trouble because of Orion. When Megatron is finally born, he refuses to allow himself to ever be deceived again to never feel the pain of losing hope in your heroes. Thus, he thinks of those who oppose him, like Elita and Bee; he sees them as followers of Sentinel, perceiving them to be just as blinded by his lies as he once was, which is why he fought back against them, he so fueled by rage and pain that he relinquishes any trust in The Primes or false leaders, believes he can't trust anyone not even his best friend, which is why he destroys monuments to Sentinel and statues of him as he considers Cybertron can genuinely flourish if there are no more Primes to abuse their power, thus when Orion becomes Optimus Prime Megatron is in disbelief of why primus would give Orion the Matrix even though Megatron was the one who killed Sentinel. So all he can do now is see his friend become the thing they fought against a Prime.
@@sastaassh1112 They both did a good job but i still cant work out why they couldn't cast Peter and frank toward the end at the point where they started talking more like the way we know of course it makes sense why they talk the way they did at first as D-16 would never sound right with Franks voice until he turns into megatron maybe this is why i answered my own question.
D-16/Megatron had a LOT of supressed/buried anger beneath the surface. All his comments of violence towards Orion before they even left Iacon are signs of it, and once he gets the ability to fight and transform his anger surfaced and he stopped holding it back.

D-16's "i'm done saving you" and fall actually makes a lot of sense. On my 2nd watch of the film, you notice that pax is a bit of reckless dick around D-16. D just wanted a quiet life... he just wanted to watch the Iacon race. But he ends up everytime having to take a lot of the responsibility of Pax's reckless behavior. He tries to resolve the Orions mistakes but ends up taking the brunt of the punishment for Pax. So i totally get why he does what he does but he does given into his rage and the fact that he did everything to protect his friend and with Pax's reckless behavior he still got the matrix. I you can sympathies with D-16/megatron. Now the director of the film also confirmed that it wasn't D that let pax go. It was Megatron and that when Prime banishes megatron you can see tears on megtrons face, again the director confirmed that this is a easter egg for the 86 movie but its also the last vestige of D-16 as after this there is only Megatron.

I was lucky to catch this movie in theaters before it left, and it was so incredible seeing this movie on the big screen and surround sound! This movie was 100% an amazing piece of cinema for fans and new people alike!

Transformers Prime was peak for transformers animation. You actually saw a more darker side of the Decepticons with Megatrons attraction to dark energon and its ability to resurrect dead cybertronians. Plus we got to see the Nemesis warship. It also showed the state of the AutoBots and their struggles in the continued war with the Deceptions. You saw Optimus Prime as a stoic leader and him having to make the hard decisions while also seeing his sympathies for humanity and wanting to spare earth the same fate cybertron had
A fan-favorite Transformers series you guys should react to is Transformers Prime, this movie took a lot of inspiration from that series. There’s multiple parallels and some flashback imagery from the show that was expanded on within this movie. Even though it’s not the same universe, there’s enough similarities that you could treat it like a sequel. There’s even an arc about Megatron and Optimus Prime’s time as Megatronus/D-16 and Orion Pax. The main Autobots consist of Optimus, Bumblebee, Arcee, Bulkhead, and Ratchet. And the main Decepticons are Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Knockout, Breakdown, and even Airachnid who has a big rivalry with Arcee that’s very twisted. The show is still comedic but has a lot of dark and serious episodes that are even darker than Transformers One went, it’s one of those cartoons that didn’t look down on the kids watching so even adults can enjoy it, comparable to ATLA, but definitely darker. Also it’s even more lore-rich and has really good action sequences. Hope you guys consider reacting.
Remember watching Prime it was very good but i wouldn't call it darker than this film i thought the way D turned into Megatron in this was the darkest thing thats been in a Family animation.
@ Very hard disagree, rewatch the torture scenes between Airachnid, Arcee, and Tailgate. Also the opening death of Cliffjumper. There’s very visceral screams and “blood” splatters on-screen.
*I was so on the fence about Chris Hemsworth playing Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, but he surprised the scrap outta me. Not only by masking his natural Australian accent, but by how well he conveyed Orion's/Optimus's emotions.*
I love this movie for so many reasons and it was great to see you guys enjoy it too! There are a few different timelines in the Transformers franchise and my personal favorite is the one where D-16 is a miner turned gladiator /activist and Orion Pax is actually an archivist (a few classes above D-16). In this storyline, it takes much longer for D-16 to rise up, at first he is happy to stay on protocol, but after he turns into a gladiator where upper class bots payed to watch low class bots kill each other, he starts to see the corruption of the system and starts writing about it. One of his writings he was quoted saying “you are being deceived.” And people started protesting, all while no one knew who wrote his work, no one knew it was the famous gladiator Megatronus causing such mayhem. When d-16 and Orion meet it is not by circumstance. Orion actively sought out Megatronus because he spoke about things Orion couldn’t. Megatronus was already jaded by the time Orion showed up, already old and battle hardened but Orion gave him hope that change was possible. Orion proved that classes didn’t matter, that two people could be brothers no matter a difference in class. They could talk to each other and argue and still there was always respect. Megatronus is an interesting character because, to me, I don’t think he craves power. He can respect a leader who treats his subjects well, but he couldn’t stand being under another leaders foot again himself. Orion, someone above him in class respected him and his opinion, and thus Megatronus respected him more. They truly were brothers before Orion was offered the Matrix and became Prime. Megatronus was pissed because Orion had turned into the symbol of every rule and barrier he had encountered , he was the propaganda that demeaned free will, he had been created by the hands of others while Megatronus had been forged by his own hands. he was everything that Megatronus Had to end. So yeah I was a little disappointed hat we didn’t get this storyline, I would have loved for more D-16/Magatron screen time but it is a kids movie tho so
So I understand why they didn't mention him, b/c it may have caused confusion as people might have assumed he was important to plot of the movie but, Primus has a twin named Unicron. Where Primus is creation, Unicron is destruction. Order and chaos, life and death, good and evil. So when the recording says 'To protect our Universe' they almost certainly mean 'from Unicron'. Cause like, who or what was he protecting them from that he had to sacrifice himself? It could have to be something real dangerous for a god to do that. And like, they may be robots but they do feel pain. They have a sensory receptors. They're robots but they're ALIVE. They have emotions, they get tired, they feel pain. They're machines but they're LIVING machines, mechanical and biological.

This movie had a lot of adult language for a kids movie, i cant remember the last movie that dealt with themes like this in a brutal fashion, i dont remember the last time a character straight up said they wanted to kill someone in a kids movie
There’s 3 Things I have to clarify, 1. I’m ok with the Quintessons not showing up, I’m aware how much of a Threat they are but the whole point of this Movie is how Optimus Prime and Megatron began the Formation of the Autobots and Decepticons, IF the Quintessons had appeared more often it would ruin the Film and we won’t get any Sentinel Screen Time, 2. Elita wasn’t the one that had the Idea of using Arachnid to Expose Sentinel, It was Orion who did a Quick Thinking when Arachnid said “I can see Everything” showing how Clever Pax is with his Sharp Edge and Mind, and 3. Bee was done good enough, I get that the Character didn’t evolve but Bee has done Well Enough, his presence is literally the Beginning to Pax and D16’s Journey to who they are destined to become as it was a Red Flag when they found out that there’s 50 Sub Levels instead of 40, his Creation Steve has the Map, and while I thought he was going to ruin the Movie with the Comic Relief I’m surprised there’s Layers of Humanity especially when Sentinel captures him and Dee and Dee stood up when Bee didn’t want him to stand up because he doesn’t want to see his Friends Hurt, like the Quintessons I’m pretty sure Bee will Develop especially when he losses his Voice in the War, anyway this Movie was amazing, not only is it one of the Best Movies of 2024, but it’s clearly the Best Transformers Movie of all Time, the Voice Casting was Great, the Story with the Evolution of Optimus Prime and Megatron is Interesting and Heartbreaking, Sentinel Prime is one of the Best Modern Villains in a Long Time that he’s definitely giving Homelander Vibes, and the Animation and Setup are Flawless, 10 out of 10, I’m hoping this gets a Trilogy because it deserves it and I would love to see more content from this and the Franchise.
I loved the Beast Wars iteration when I was a kid because they were transformers but also animals and that was SICK. P.s. I can't believe Keegan just said A A Tron. That's hysterical.
My first experience with Transformers was with Beast Wars, I watched all the fifty something episode, and even in TH-cam if you are interested, I watched some of G1, but it was to goofy compared for example BTX (from the same creator of Saint Seiya) as ridiculous the intro song was, he predicted much of how technology would advance in the next thirty years, minus the mythical animal robots.
If this film underperformed, it's because the trailers lead people to believe that it was just for kids! Obviously not, but that the way the trailer was cut!
You are right about Cybertron being gone. If you want an even MORE depressing fact about the ending, this war will last, literally, MILLIONS of years. This shattered friendship has sparked a war that will devastate the planet and their people and last for millions of years. MILLIONS (cause yeah, Cybertronians have extremely long life spans). Generally, by the time any of the series start, when the Autobots and Decepticons are on Earth and meeting humans, the war has been raging for eons and Cybertron is generally a dead or dying planet (which is why they left). So like, in the end, this story is ultimately a tragedy in its ending. In more ways than one.
10:27 why is she working? Are the miners the only ones that got the day off but waste management still had to work? 35:51 so Sentinel was never sending them to his service pod. He sent them down with Bee to show those who think about doing more than mining they’ll die. Also if you watched the Bayverse transformers you’ll know Jazz from the first one.
I have mixed feelings about this one. I think it was good, but the story felt very rushed. D-16's transformation would have been better if it happened two stories later. This story felt like they had planned a trilogy or at least a two-parter, but made a last minute switch to make it ONE story because they weren't guaranteed a sequel. The animation, voice acting and music were nice. I was happy to hear Bryan Tyler's Transformer's Prime theme worked into this--makes since since he did the music for this =) The comedy was pretty good, but some things felt weird like the middle finger transformation and everything related to Earth, given that they haven't gone to Earth yet. Even weirder, assuming they are still following G1 (the original 80s cartoon, which some minor changers) this story takes place 4 million years before 1984, making their very human themed jokes way before their time. I think they could have kept a lot of their jokes, and all they had to do was substitute words or phrases with terms already used by the series instead. The thing that bothered me the most, however, is the fact that they kept calling themselves Transformers--yeah, I know they did that way back in the day too, but if the franchise is going to keep merger old with new, why not embrace Cybertronian? That's what they are. Anyway, I liked the story more than I disliked it, I just felt a few minor changes here and there would have made it better. I hope it gets a sequel, and I'm sure the sequel will be better. @Bridgeco, you should watch Transformers Prime. It only got three seasons, but they were very good. I'd also recommend Transformers Beast Wars, the computer animated series from the 90s. IIRC, the first season has about 20 stories, and while the first half feels slow, it picks up pretty quickly during the last few episodes, revealing the real story--what they did was a shock and something to no one knew they needed until it happened! I don't recommend the Michael Bay Transformer movies, but I grew up watching the originals. The Bay movies are for a new generation who want to see familiar names in a very different story. For those of us who wanted to see an updated version of the cartoon we watched as children didn't really happen until the Bumble Movie, and that movie delivered in the first 5 minutes! I'd recommend that movie and the follow up movie Transformers: Rise of the Beast. They aren't G1, but I think it is a story that is the best of both worlds, G1 with a modern twist--they didn't throw out the source material like Michael Bay's movie did. The more recent stories try to honor what came before while trying something new. Nice reaction you two =)
I was just wondering if Orion Pax didn't say those words to D16 and said something else and say you just like Sentiment Prime? No one wants to be compared to a monster or a corrupt leader.
This was the best transformers moive, and an amazing origin story. Watched the cartoons and animated movies as a child and have watched all the mediocre movies that came out. great.
Definitely check out Transformers prime series! I think it’s a petty good show for beginners. Transformers Animated is also great. I will say that one has a lot of easter eggs from different tf shows so might go over head but it’s a good show. Transformers Armada is another good show that’s the one I grew up with, it is slow paced and the animation is off in the first 16 episodes but after that it picks up plus the story is just great. The Bay films are ok depending on which transformers fan you ask. Some really don’t care for them, some enjoy parts of it and some really do like the movies. Basically it’s a mix bag, I liked the first three movies despite the flaws but everything after the third was kind ass.

Admittedly, I'm very much whatever when it comes to Transformers as a franchise, yet I found this film to be hugely enjoyable. Now the film did not perform well financially which means the chances of a sequel are not likely. Though I'd be fine if there wasn't one. Because the rest is history when it comes to the animosity between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

@@terogates1 Sure, I would love to see a sequel as well. However we need to remember that at the end of the day the film industry is a business. And a business needs to make money. And so if someone says "hey I can make a good movie for 100 million dollars" and the movie gets made and only comes back with 50 million, the person who invested has essentially lost 50 million dollars. This tells the film industry that this is not a financially viable route to go. In other words you always want to leave the casino with more money going out than you did going into the casino.

Yeah, the word energon is cheesy, but it's been around since the beginning of the franchise and we've kind of just gotten desensitized to it's cheesyness I guess. It's also kind of cheesy that it is somehow a fuel for machinery, blood, and food. (I'm pretty sure this movie is meant to line up with the concept of them being biological organisms rather than robots, like in my favorite series, Transformers: Prime)
Also something interesting that I noticed in this movie is the difference in Orion and D-16's worldviews that resulted in their different paths. Orion called for the people to stand up, while D-16 called for them to rise up. Orion has a conservative "holding ground and stopping injustice" mindset, while D-16 has a more liberal "taking ground and seeking reparations for injustice". Orion wanted to protect everyone, even those who wronged him. D-16 wanted to elevate the oppressed and annihilate the oppressor. I'm honestly sad how many people seem to share D-16's mindset. Every life is valuable, even those who hurt you.

Please do The Micheal Bay ones. 1-4 are the best ones Bay actually cared into making until he didn't. alot of the action scenes are inspired by Michael Bay Transformers especially the slow mo. Alot of people don't like his transformers because of the story. But he takes alot of the lore and just mixes it with his own Ideas. His Transformers Movie 100% Saved and Revived the Transformers especially after the 90's cartoon. One thing about his TF Movies all of them are extremely entertaining even though down the line they get horrible

Not everyone can just think with a calm mind when the reality they've known since birth is shattered by truth. His reaction is supposed to be the other side of Orion's coin. With Orion, his heart was shattered but he kept hold of hope with his trademark blind optimism. But with D, well he never had use for hope. He was and always would be a cogless miner, fully accepting of that fate and idolizing Sentinel. But finding out his hero is the biggest piece of scrap in recorded history and that he was never supposed to be a cogless miner? Those were all he had. That was his reality. So to D, he truly had nothing left but pure rage and hatred for The Great Deception. Then comes the celebration of his newfound power, the droves of people cheering his name after establishing dominance over a weak self-proclaimed ruler. He feels a new calling. To end The Great Deception and wipe all traces of it by any means necessary. And while a good amount could have been changed to improve the script and story, the speed at which D turns into Megatron works just fine. When you have Nothing, Something can be overwhelming.

I love a great villain and their development towards villainy, but it was his turn against Orion that seemed a bit too quick for me. I don't think were explicitly told how long they've been friends, but if they were as good of friends as we're led to believe, then his betrayal of Orion wouldn't have occurred that quickly to the point he willingly let him fall down into the planet to die.

How big is primus? Absolutely fucking gigantic. Even a cogless Orion pax (32') would tower over a human, and primus/Cybertron is so massive that relative to the size of the planet, transformers look human sized. It's probably closer to the size of Saturn, so imagine if Saturn could turn into a giant robot and that's about how big primus would be. He's likely incomprehensibly gigantic
Primus might be even bigger than Jupiter. The center of Cybertron, Primus’s “spark” that we see at the end, looks similar to a small dwarf star. That means the surface of the planet, his actual transformed body the makes up the planet, is closer in scale to a star.

Eh, this is not necessarily the case. We don't ever see characters in this movie compared to the whole planet, so it's size is guesswork at best. It could very well be smaller than Earth, which I rather like the idea of, because the relatively lower gravity would suit the massive solid metal robots. I also like it because the characters in this movie run and jump and flip and spin super nimbly. Having Cybertron have lower gravity would make this movie fine, while also letting them seem much "heavier" and impressive compared to humans, whenever they inevitably make it to earth
Or the gravity idea could even go in the other direction, that Cybertron is much larger than earth, necessitating larger and stronger beings to traverse it easily

Brian Tyree Henry absolutely *KILLED IT* as Megatron.
Frankly, I actually thought D-16's downfall made sense when you remember that it showed how D-16 was always the one who had to cover Orion every time he got into trouble for his reckless ambition, like an older big brother and yet when D-16 tries to de-esculate or resolve one of Orion's mistakes both of them are always punished like when he hid Orion from the guards, or when he took the punch for Orion when he stood up to Darkwing despite D-16 apologising on his behalf. D-16 was genuinely happy being a miner, as he believed the system would be more complacent and introverted than Orion's extroverted, go-getter ambition. D-16 felt like he contributed to society, as he looked up to Sentinel and idolised Megatronous Prime as a symbol of power and strength. You can imagine his pent-up resentment and frustration for Orion, always getting him into trouble. Yet, he still forgives Orion since he knows how much cares about him, like when he got their seats at the Iacon 5000 despite not telling him they'd be participating in the race. You can tell that after learning the dark truth about Sentinel's lies, D-16's entire world absolutely shatters as he was happy as this submissive, simple nerdy bot who believed in the system and his friendship with Orion and his admiration for Megatronous were some of the only things that kept him going, but now he sees how truly naive he was as he and his fellow miners worked themselves to death for a leader that murdered their true heroes and sold his own race out their greatest enemy. D-16 clearly feels betrayed and wants vengeance for all the pain, injustice, and death Sentinel has caused. He doubts that exposing the truth isn't enough for someone as powerful as him to be taken down. D wants to believe that there is a better way, but his rage and hate cloud his mind, and despite that rage, you can tell he still values Orion as his best friend, as he is the only person who treats D with genuine respect. He's motivated by a twisted yearning for justice. If anything, he ultimately lacks self-awareness: in his eyes, he is the hero, even though he wasn't the only one who was lied to; Orion, Elita, Bee and all of Iacon were lied to for generations, and many died just all because of Sentinels manipulation. Megatron was justified in his hatred and vengeance against Sentinel but lost sight of what he was fighting for and let his emotions consume him to the point of no return despite how much he knew Orion cared about him as a good friend, but couldn't fathom why he'd risk his life for a scumbag like Sentinel who took away their rights, their hope, their heroes and sold out his own people, even though D has had to sacrifice everything to save Orion. Thus, he mentally snapped and had enough of covering Orion's back, and now D16 was dead, and only Megatron existed. What is truly sad is that Orion wasn't trying to save Sentinel...he was trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but sadly, D-16 was too far gone, and now only Megatron exists. He can only process it as a personal betrayal on his part because, like I said, it shows D-16 was always there for Orion countless times, all because of his recklessness and ambition and even though D clearly cares about Orion regardless, there's a side of him that still feels frustration and resentment over always getting in trouble because of Orion. When Megatron is finally born, he refuses to allow himself to ever be deceived again to never feel the pain of losing hope in your heroes. Thus, he thinks of those who oppose him, like Elita and Bee; he sees them as followers of Sentinel, perceiving them to be just as blinded by his lies as he once was, which is why he fought back against them, he so fueled by rage and pain that he relinquishes any trust in The Primes or false leaders, believes he can't trust anyone not even his best friend, which is why he destroys monuments to Sentinel and statues of him as he considers Cybertron can genuinely flourish if there are no more Primes to abuse their power, thus when Orion becomes Optimus Prime Megatron is in disbelief of why primus would give Orion the Matrix even though Megatron was the one who killed Sentinel. So all he can do now is see his friend become the thing they fought against a Prime.

D-16/Megatron had a LOT of supressed/buried anger beneath the surface. All his comments of violence towards Orion before they even left Iacon are signs of it, and once he gets the ability to fight and transform his anger surfaced and he stopped holding it back.

D-16's "i'm done saving you" and fall actually makes a lot of sense. On my 2nd watch of the film, you notice that pax is a bit of reckless dick around D-16. D just wanted a quiet life... he just wanted to watch the Iacon race. But he ends up everytime having to take a lot of the responsibility of Pax's reckless behavior. He tries to resolve the Orions mistakes but ends up taking the brunt of the punishment for Pax. So i totally get why he does what he does but he does given into his rage and the fact that he did everything to protect his friend and with Pax's reckless behavior he still got the matrix. I you can sympathies with D-16/megatron.
Now the director of the film also confirmed that it wasn't D that let pax go. It was Megatron and that when Prime banishes megatron you can see tears on megtrons face, again the director confirmed that this is a easter egg for the 86 movie but its also the last vestige of D-16 as after this there is only Megatron.

Transformers Prime was peak for transformers animation. You actually saw a more darker side of the Decepticons with Megatrons attraction to dark energon and its ability to resurrect dead cybertronians. Plus we got to see the Nemesis warship. It also showed the state of the AutoBots and their struggles in the continued war with the Deceptions. You saw Optimus Prime as a stoic leader and him having to make the hard decisions while also seeing his sympathies for humanity and wanting to spare earth the same fate cybertron had
A fan-favorite Transformers series you guys should react to is Transformers Prime, this movie took a lot of inspiration from that series. There’s multiple parallels and some flashback imagery from the show that was expanded on within this movie. Even though it’s not the same universe, there’s enough similarities that you could treat it like a sequel. There’s even an arc about Megatron and Optimus Prime’s time as Megatronus/D-16 and Orion Pax. The main Autobots consist of Optimus, Bumblebee, Arcee, Bulkhead, and Ratchet. And the main Decepticons are Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Knockout, Breakdown, and even Airachnid who has a big rivalry with Arcee that’s very twisted. The show is still comedic but has a lot of dark and serious episodes that are even darker than Transformers One went, it’s one of those cartoons that didn’t look down on the kids watching so even adults can enjoy it, comparable to ATLA, but definitely darker. Also it’s even more lore-rich and has really good action sequences. Hope you guys consider reacting.
Remember watching Prime it was very good but i wouldn't call it darker than this film i thought the way D turned into Megatron in this was the darkest thing thats been in a Family animation.
@ Very hard disagree, rewatch the torture scenes between Airachnid, Arcee, and Tailgate. Also the opening death of Cliffjumper. There’s very visceral screams and “blood” splatters on-screen.

“The moment I saw the weakness of my flesh it disgusted me” my immediate thoughts
I love this movie for so many reasons and it was great to see you guys enjoy it too! There are a few different timelines in the Transformers franchise and my personal favorite is the one where D-16 is a miner turned gladiator /activist and Orion Pax is actually an archivist (a few classes above D-16). In this storyline, it takes much longer for D-16 to rise up, at first he is happy to stay on protocol, but after he turns into a gladiator where upper class bots payed to watch low class bots kill each other, he starts to see the corruption of the system and starts writing about it. One of his writings he was quoted saying “you are being deceived.” And people started protesting, all while no one knew who wrote his work, no one knew it was the famous gladiator Megatronus causing such mayhem. When d-16 and Orion meet it is not by circumstance. Orion actively sought out Megatronus because he spoke about things Orion couldn’t. Megatronus was already jaded by the time Orion showed up, already old and battle hardened but Orion gave him hope that change was possible. Orion proved that classes didn’t matter, that two people could be brothers no matter a difference in class. They could talk to each other and argue and still there was always respect. Megatronus is an interesting character because, to me, I don’t think he craves power. He can respect a leader who treats his subjects well, but he couldn’t stand being under another leaders foot again himself. Orion, someone above him in class respected him and his opinion, and thus Megatronus respected him more. They truly were brothers before Orion was offered the Matrix and became Prime. Megatronus was pissed because Orion had turned into the symbol of every rule and barrier he had encountered , he was the propaganda that demeaned free will, he had been created by the hands of others while Megatronus had been forged by his own hands. he was everything that Megatronus Had to end. So yeah I was a little disappointed hat we didn’t get this storyline, I would have loved for more D-16/Magatron screen time but it is a kids movie tho so

So I understand why they didn't mention him, b/c it may have caused confusion as people might have assumed he was important to plot of the movie but, Primus has a twin named Unicron. Where Primus is creation, Unicron is destruction. Order and chaos, life and death, good and evil. So when the recording says 'To protect our Universe' they almost certainly mean 'from Unicron'. Cause like, who or what was he protecting them from that he had to sacrifice himself? It could have to be something real dangerous for a god to do that.
And like, they may be robots but they do feel pain. They have a sensory receptors. They're robots but they're ALIVE. They have emotions, they get tired, they feel pain. They're machines but they're LIVING machines, mechanical and biological.

This movie had a lot of adult language for a kids movie, i cant remember the last movie that dealt with themes like this in a brutal fashion, i dont remember the last time a character straight up said they wanted to kill someone in a kids movie
There’s 3 Things I have to clarify, 1. I’m ok with the Quintessons not showing up, I’m aware how much of a Threat they are but the whole point of this Movie is how Optimus Prime and Megatron began the Formation of the Autobots and Decepticons, IF the Quintessons had appeared more often it would ruin the Film and we won’t get any Sentinel Screen Time, 2. Elita wasn’t the one that had the Idea of using Arachnid to Expose Sentinel, It was Orion who did a Quick Thinking when Arachnid said “I can see Everything” showing how Clever Pax is with his Sharp Edge and Mind, and 3. Bee was done good enough, I get that the Character didn’t evolve but Bee has done Well Enough, his presence is literally the Beginning to Pax and D16’s Journey to who they are destined to become as it was a Red Flag when they found out that there’s 50 Sub Levels instead of 40, his Creation Steve has the Map, and while I thought he was going to ruin the Movie with the Comic Relief I’m surprised there’s Layers of Humanity especially when Sentinel captures him and Dee and Dee stood up when Bee didn’t want him to stand up because he doesn’t want to see his Friends Hurt, like the Quintessons I’m pretty sure Bee will Develop especially when he losses his Voice in the War, anyway this Movie was amazing, not only is it one of the Best Movies of 2024, but it’s clearly the Best Transformers Movie of all Time, the Voice Casting was Great, the Story with the Evolution of Optimus Prime and Megatron is Interesting and Heartbreaking, Sentinel Prime is one of the Best Modern Villains in a Long Time that he’s definitely giving Homelander Vibes, and the Animation and Setup are Flawless, 10 out of 10, I’m hoping this gets a Trilogy because it deserves it and I would love to see more content from this and the Franchise.

My first experience with Transformers was with Beast Wars, I watched all the fifty something episode, and even in TH-cam if you are interested, I watched some of G1, but it was to goofy compared for example BTX (from the same creator of Saint Seiya) as ridiculous the intro song was, he predicted much of how technology would advance in the next thirty years, minus the mythical animal robots.
If this film underperformed, it's because the trailers lead people to believe that it was just for kids! Obviously not, but that the way the trailer was cut!
You are right about Cybertron being gone. If you want an even MORE depressing fact about the ending, this war will last, literally, MILLIONS of years. This shattered friendship has sparked a war that will devastate the planet and their people and last for millions of years. MILLIONS (cause yeah, Cybertronians have extremely long life spans). Generally, by the time any of the series start, when the Autobots and Decepticons are on Earth and meeting humans, the war has been raging for eons and Cybertron is generally a dead or dying planet (which is why they left).
So like, in the end, this story is ultimately a tragedy in its ending. In more ways than one.
10:27 why is she working? Are the miners the only ones that got the day off but waste management still had to work? 35:51 so Sentinel was never sending them to his service pod. He sent them down with Bee to show those who think about doing more than mining they’ll die. Also if you watched the Bayverse transformers you’ll know Jazz from the first one.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I think it was good, but the story felt very rushed. D-16's transformation would have been better if it happened two stories later. This story felt like they had planned a trilogy or at least a two-parter, but made a last minute switch to make it ONE story because they weren't guaranteed a sequel.
The animation, voice acting and music were nice. I was happy to hear Bryan Tyler's Transformer's Prime theme worked into this--makes since since he did the music for this =)
The comedy was pretty good, but some things felt weird like the middle finger transformation and everything related to Earth, given that they haven't gone to Earth yet. Even weirder, assuming they are still following G1 (the original 80s cartoon, which some minor changers) this story takes place 4 million years before 1984, making their very human themed jokes way before their time. I think they could have kept a lot of their jokes, and all they had to do was substitute words or phrases with terms already used by the series instead. The thing that bothered me the most, however, is the fact that they kept calling themselves Transformers--yeah, I know they did that way back in the day too, but if the franchise is going to keep merger old with new, why not embrace Cybertronian? That's what they are. Anyway, I liked the story more than I disliked it, I just felt a few minor changes here and there would have made it better. I hope it gets a sequel, and I'm sure the sequel will be better.
@Bridgeco, you should watch Transformers Prime. It only got three seasons, but they were very good. I'd also recommend Transformers Beast Wars, the computer animated series from the 90s. IIRC, the first season has about 20 stories, and while the first half feels slow, it picks up pretty quickly during the last few episodes, revealing the real story--what they did was a shock and something to no one knew they needed until it happened!
I don't recommend the Michael Bay Transformer movies, but I grew up watching the originals. The Bay movies are for a new generation who want to see familiar names in a very different story. For those of us who wanted to see an updated version of the cartoon we watched as children didn't really happen until the Bumble Movie, and that movie delivered in the first 5 minutes! I'd recommend that movie and the follow up movie Transformers: Rise of the Beast. They aren't G1, but I think it is a story that is the best of both worlds, G1 with a modern twist--they didn't throw out the source material like Michael Bay's movie did. The more recent stories try to honor what came before while trying something new.

Definitely check out Transformers prime series! I think it’s a petty good show for beginners. Transformers Animated is also great. I will say that one has a lot of easter eggs from different tf shows so might go over head but it’s a good show. Transformers Armada is another good show that’s the one I grew up with, it is slow paced and the animation is off in the first 16 episodes but after that it picks up plus the story is just great. The Bay films are ok depending on which transformers fan you ask. Some really don’t care for them, some enjoy parts of it and some really do like the movies. Basically it’s a mix bag, I liked the first three movies despite the flaws but everything after the third was kind ass.

Admittedly, I'm very much whatever when it comes to Transformers as a franchise, yet I found this film to be hugely enjoyable. Now the film did not perform well financially which means the chances of a sequel are not likely. Though I'd be fine if there wasn't one. Because the rest is history when it comes to the animosity between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

@@terogates1 Sure, I would love to see a sequel as well. However we need to remember that at the end of the day the film industry is a business. And a business needs to make money. And so if someone says "hey I can make a good movie for 100 million dollars" and the movie gets made and only comes back with 50 million, the person who invested has essentially lost 50 million dollars. This tells the film industry that this is not a financially viable route to go. In other words you always want to leave the casino with more money going out than you did going into the casino.

Yeah, the word energon is cheesy, but it's been around since the beginning of the franchise and we've kind of just gotten desensitized to it's cheesyness I guess. It's also kind of cheesy that it is somehow a fuel for machinery, blood, and food. (I'm pretty sure this movie is meant to line up with the concept of them being biological organisms rather than robots, like in my favorite series, Transformers: Prime)
Also something interesting that I noticed in this movie is the difference in Orion and D-16's worldviews that resulted in their different paths. Orion called for the people to stand up, while D-16 called for them to rise up. Orion has a conservative "holding ground and stopping injustice" mindset, while D-16 has a more liberal "taking ground and seeking reparations for injustice". Orion wanted to protect everyone, even those who wronged him. D-16 wanted to elevate the oppressed and annihilate the oppressor. I'm honestly sad how many people seem to share D-16's mindset. Every life is valuable, even those who hurt you.

Please do The Micheal Bay ones. 1-4 are the best ones Bay actually cared into making until he didn't. alot of the action scenes are inspired by Michael Bay Transformers especially the slow mo. Alot of people don't like his transformers because of the story. But he takes alot of the lore and just mixes it with his own Ideas. His Transformers Movie 100% Saved and Revived the Transformers especially after the 90's cartoon. One thing about his TF Movies all of them are extremely entertaining even though down the line they get horrible

No don’t bother with the other bay movies he ruined everything,he has a part in this one but I’m guessing it’s a very small part behind Steven Spielberg. I highly suggest watching transformers the movie from 1986
The first transformers movie is well worth a watch, as is bumblebee, then Rise of the Beasts, in terms of worth watching or not. the others... eh? just dont watch 5
I felt like Megatron's turn was a bit too quick. Would have loved a sequel that was really primarily about his dark turn.
I mean, when the truth is layed before you, clear as day.
Not everyone can just think with a calm mind when the reality they've known since birth is shattered by truth. His reaction is supposed to be the other side of Orion's coin. With Orion, his heart was shattered but he kept hold of hope with his trademark blind optimism. But with D, well he never had use for hope. He was and always would be a cogless miner, fully accepting of that fate and idolizing Sentinel. But finding out his hero is the biggest piece of scrap in recorded history and that he was never supposed to be a cogless miner? Those were all he had. That was his reality. So to D, he truly had nothing left but pure rage and hatred for The Great Deception.
Then comes the celebration of his newfound power, the droves of people cheering his name after establishing dominance over a weak self-proclaimed ruler. He feels a new calling. To end The Great Deception and wipe all traces of it by any means necessary.
And while a good amount could have been changed to improve the script and story, the speed at which D turns into Megatron works just fine. When you have Nothing, Something can be overwhelming.
@@cherokeeclaypoolray6958 The turn against Sentinel wasn't the issue for me. I completely understand that. I love a great villain and their development towards villainy, but it was his turn against Orion that seemed a bit too quick for me. I don't think were explicitly told how long they've been friends, but if they were as good of friends as we're led to believe, then his betrayal of Orion wouldn't have occurred that quickly to the point he willingly let him fall down into the planet to die.
