    These last two months were insane.

    In this video I'm going to be showing you my 4 month (120 days) spanish progress. Initially I had planned to cap my active Spanish learning to do 4 months in the name of a challenge. However due to my bad health, I'm going to add another month. These last two months were the most fun I've ever had when language learning. I've fallen in love with Spanish and feel grateful for starting this challenge.
    Make no mistake my output is still very rough. However that'll hopefully be fixed in the next month.

      @@ahmadhadidi6582 When you like something you say "me encanta". Quite literally "I was enchanted by".
      If you say encanté, you are the one making the action. So:
      Saying "encanté el libro" means "I made the book like me" (as if you could make an inanimate object like you, the book likes you),
      Saying "me encantó el libro" means "I liked the book", and
      Saying "me encantaba el libro" means "I used to like the book".
      *Please read iceraven's comment down below for some meaningful clarifications.

    • @CaptainPayless
      @CaptainPayless 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@ahmadhadidi6582 It would be "me encantó" because in the sentence, he is saying what the audiobook is doing to him. This verb is used when loving something, but literally, it means "to enchant". The audiobook of Steve Jobs enchanted me.

    • @iceravennevermore
      @iceravennevermore 3 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      @@pianorover I have to make a tiny correction, so people get it clear:
      - Saying "encanté el libro" means "I enchanted the book" (like throwing a magic spell onto it).
      - Saying "encanté al (a+el) libro" means "I made the book like me". The preposition "a" turns "el libro" into a passive subject, instead of an object. That's what changes the meaning of the word from "magical enchanting" to "being charming/getting others to love you".
      Also, "encantar" is definitely stronger than "gustar" in terms of intensity, I'd translate it as "I loved/I used to love" instead.

      Well he still has a bit of an accent, it’s definitely not as strong as before but he is understandable. It does seem like he’s put a lot effort into it, honestly he’s doing great. I would also suggest to work a little bit more on gender of nouns, it’s something that it throws a lot of people off when they’re learning Spanish. I also like how he used two phrases that are mostly used in one country. For example he said "Qué padre" which is kind of a slang term to say "How cool" it’s used in Mexico and he also used "Joder" It’s an expression, it’s used in Spain but like every single Spanish speaker understands it. It’s like saying Wow or something like that. Also it’s awesome that you’re learning Spanish, good luck.
