This may well be my favorite Rich Roll podcast ever. Seth’s humbleness and Rich’s honesty and transparency about why he hadn’t made the trip to Seth’s truly touched me and set the stage for an extraordinary discussion. Thank both.
THANK YOU 🙏🏻 I’ve been advocating this vision on education for the last 6 years. And I’ve opted out, teaching my daughters about STEM and ICT, politics and finance. Above all, I teach them on ownership, leadership and integrity. Psychology and communication skills also add to the curriculum at home. Next to going to school, teaching them all the extra stuff through play, deep conversations or writing music, while baking bread or pie… being present as a parent is so important for the future of humanity, We really need to stick together and take care of each other.
If it weren’t for Rich’s authenticity this podcast episode wouldn’t exist. It’s a timely reminder that everyone has a story and gets to choose how they appear (good or bad) to anyone else they interact with in their daily life
Dear Rich, I am very touched by your honesty about your feelings of inferiority. You are a role model and inspiration for me to dare more and more to really be myself. Thank you for sharing. I love your work and have been following you for a long time. Your conversation with Seth Godin is another amazing episode. Thank you both very much. You make the world a better place!
I've been working on climate change for 40 years and just found out that 96% of mammals on our planet today are humans, cows, goats, pigs, animals we have domesticated. Great to see Seth focused his skillful heart on climate crisis. His solutions are right on. Bucky Fuller said to change the world, create a new one. Thanks for humanizing us all with your listening and sharing Rich. The weave with trauma drama of addiction to alcohol, oil will indirectly help a whole generation of addicts face ourselves.
Rich I use to be a weekly listener but since becoming a mom, I rarely get the treat. Listened to this one in its entirety and it was a joy. I have listened to other interview type podcasts and no other host has the skill to steer the conversation quite the way you do.

I have listened to the entire episode. Thank you Rich for serving an amazing experience. I love Seth and his way of thinking and encouraging people to think and make things better. He was earlier on my Podcast and he truly pushed me in ways I had never dreamed of.
Also so happy that some of my favorite teachers are finally talking about this I really want my daughter and grandkids to see how beautiful Earth can really.
Loved the climate discussion. I discover your podcast recently and it became quickly one of my favorite. Hearing your interviewing someone so interesting, like M. Godin, and talking about "something else" (not health, not marketing) was wonderful. I'm gonna check if there is other episodes about climate and environment. Thanks.
"I only eat collagen from left handed animals"... that one had me rolling 😆. This was so great and I absolutely love the way Seth explains things in such a simple manner.
This is by far one of the best setups for a podcast, it looks perfect besides the fact that Rich compared to other podcast youtubers, he knows how to listen what the main character has to say( which in this case is Seth Godin).
Thank you for hosting this podcast with Seth Godin which, is my first visit to Rich Roll and indeed there was lots of valuable elements to the conversation. However, I have to ask some STRONG questions here when it comes to the climate change elements discussed and saving our earth. I got the old story about the whale oil process and system - great! Or not so, as it happens!! Made me see the point about us all using oil too cheaply for so long and why we have been duped. However, I would ask if Seth wants to create a BIG 'ripple effect', then why didn't he put out the Climate Almanac book as a free download to catch as many people as possible? Does he respectfully really need the money from it, or for it to be printed up and sent out for people to flash around on their expensive coffee tables and shelving? Do they even really read it, let alone check if its factually correct! Why didn't he write a book about addressing the fact that too many people in the USA are eating far, far too much beef and thus stop all the cattle they breed there and the subsequent massive health issues of total over indulgence and obese, unfit and unwell people that create profits for Big Pharma? Why does he not talk to, and join forces with someone like Dr Steven Greer who KNOWS that clean cheap energy systems exist already but are being openly stopped by US and other governments because they are all making too much profit selling the oil they still help dig up with cheap labour, yet he tells the poor people who need to use it to keep warm that they are buying it too cheap!!! Write a book about that. Why did he not address the daily solar weather impact on our earth, particularly now, and despite how much we each try to clean up our own act by buying expensive paper bags for our yoga mats, (NOT) for example, the plasma and proton fields hitting out earth and changing the slip streams from where they should be organically, is far more of a challenge than a few cows. This aspect of Seth is really off track for me, in my very humble opinion, and is very disappointing and maybe he should stick to teaching writer and marketers. Sorry for the rant but this made me so angry. @sethgodin
Okay…I'm a 51 year old regular guy…and I wear Roka Hamilton Frames (in black) because I liked them on Rich and they work well on runs. But Seth is crushing those yellow frames!
45:45 was a masterclass of systems by Godin and, in a rare showing, highlighted Rich's lack of systems understanding plus bias. The concept of the "education being constructed to create compliant workers" incredibly oversimplifies a complex historical pathway. If you read the full details and report of the Committee of Ten (1892-1894), you'll see where and how a lot of the initial system came together. One thing to note is that, through this process, much of the early structure was influenced/informed by the Prussian education system of the 18th and 19th centuries - which was not designed with industrial purposes. One critical key to noticing nuance and thinking in systems, is the ability to raise a red flag for questions whenever your brain hears something that sounds so nice that it's easy to accept with no questioning. "The [evil] education system was built to create compliant workers" may sound nice and exciting, but it's not an accurate description of the system. And further to that, which we saw with Rich, was undertones of hopelessness for change. This is exactly what people do when they don't understand a system or have the wrong mental model of the system. Godin, an expert systems thinker, quickly course corrected that when you do the work to understand the system, you know the parts, and therefore the "levers" of the solution appear. Systems and solutions can be complex - yes - but they don't need complicated.
At the 42:00-ish minute mark/ The Story We Quietly Tell Ourselves: This resonates a bit with Joe Dispenza’s work and his book Breaking the Habit of Being Ourselves.
Pure. Loved it. I've read a bunch of his books. This podcast added a lot to what I've learned from his work. Thanks for getting it from him and into the world.
This man has a great take on how to live the best life. He talks consistently about disempowerment - in government and in education particularly. And yet, and yet and yet ..... he said that the first thing you do when you have a fever is reach for the Tylenol - there in that one sentence he completely disempowers the body. What is more disempowering that thinking to have to whack your fever on the head and you are unable to do that with medicated drugs. Fevers in the body - they are part of the body's defence system to rid the invader and are manipulated at your peril. As long as the fever isn't really high (104+) then you should be reaching for the water, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 and Zinc and for your comfy mattress and some sleep. Your body knows what it is doing - leave it alone.
Thank you both for these insightful words. Deep breath, the context is for a person building an intellectual business, not a service business. But I am listening. 😊
I am inspired, by this fantastic interview. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, both of you. I've admired Seth's work for a long time and this podcast has influenced my life in so many ways. Thank you for bringing Seth in!
Hello Rich, my name is Bruno. Thank you for your show, it is very important to me. Congratulations for your courage to not only take control over your life, but to exceed so brightly. I am a big fan of Seth Godin too, it was a GREAT interview! Many tkssss
I feel like its important to note that doing your best work doesn't mean you have to focus in on one thing and win a segment of the market. That's probably the best way to succeed financially, but I think it's also valuable to follow your passions and share your unique voice in order to connect with others. It might be one other person, might be thousands. We all have a unique voice / worldview / passions to develop and share, and if you do it for the joy of creation, expression, and connection then you can feel very fulfilled. This is definitely not get rich quick advice.
Rich, I know you did not write a book and may be using this podcast as a distraction. However it is only because of your visual podcasts that I have been introduced to so many amazing people and explored so many new areas of interest. If you wrote a book it is very unlikely that I would read it. But this, this is a thanks for your creativity in this form
My husband doesn’t believe in global warming because he says that there’s to many people that benefit from scaring society into thinking that if the regular folk don’t change then we are all doom. He says that the people at the top are the ones that control the system. Also the Earth has changed many times in the millions of years. I told him I understand and I agree a bit. My opinion (I do believe that humans are causing the Earth to warm up and that why are seeing to many irregular storms) is regardless of global warming we still want clean air and clean water, and safe places to build our homes without worry of the next storm to destroy it. Also yes the Earth has changed but we are speeding up that science can’t catch up with it. I’m not going into panic tho because I’m useless that way! I’m putting my energy into holding big companies responsible, doing my part, and supporting people that are fighting for our future and our kids.
I have a active startup business that needs capital startup, and a couple people who can work their way into owning this business in 3-5 years. In a great US city. ask me your ELEVATOR QUESTION. 30:30. Come ride an ebike the correct/safe way in Santa Fe and see very soon before the wave breaks, ive done the market study and have the best bike blah blah blah,... Live without a car or greatly reduce your car time, less crowding, less stress less carbon, plant based yup, stop using single use liquid containers etc. ☎. I like Seth! Thanks.

I'm no expert, but I think Bjørn Lomborg has some balanced and unique perspectives on climate change and would love for Rich to have a conversation with him.
Loved the podcast. It's pretty funny also to have been impacted (or no that much) with an interruption marketing after finishing Seth's Permission Marketing
How could insinuate one should have an open mind and suggest a book they read that fits your narrative but aren’t willing to debate someone. The debate is where we flush out all the facts and reveal the gaps in thinking.
I appreciated Rich putting in a word for authenticity. I felt like the negative examples Seth described amounted to impulsiveness, which is a different thing. Still, excellent conversation...I learned a lot
Thank you for this amazing guest! I just cannot hear the last part of his sentences due to his drop of voice tone … I wish I could have grasped all of them but I couldn’t :(
This is a great show, I've watched it twice. But, like every other guest you have I still feel stuck in my situation, I'm similar age to you and have been doing the same job for 40yrs. I make good money and should have no complaints, but I need to break free and do something satisfying and be able to retire nicely and have some enjoyment. How do I break free? You have the best guest but their reach or closeness to opportunity is something I don't have. I know this is rambling but I need some help to change directions and do something I enjoy.
LOL now that I know about ADD (and that I have ADD), it makes sense that Seth is (mildly) ADD, and gives me even more respect that he made the choice to become a meaningful specific vs. wandering generality. I really struggle with focusing exclusively on one thing because my interests are so diverse. I wish I could have Seth coach me, I know if I told him my story for 5 minutes, he’d have some reply that would make it all make sense! 😂
Sometimes when you just survive long enough, people will think you're good. The industry is FULL of people that teach stuff that NEVER worked for them when they were young, but they made alot of money and gained status by selling their methods to lost people looking for help and believe what they say. And boom! Now they are experts.
Marketing problems are story-of-self problems. Write not just the story you’ll write to yourself. Write about someone who shares your story with someone else after they worked with you / purchased your product.
gotta say, we have been selling energy cheaper than the actual cost SO THAT RICH PEOPLE CAN GET RICHER. They knew the cost for 60 years, they just wanted more money. The economic authoritarianism that is capitalism is the reason, not ignorance..
I chuckled at your mutual distaste for the educational model in the US. While it's not perfect, the system that was designed to create "middle managers" has powered the most progressive century in human history. Maybe there's a better way but let's be "right sized" about where we are.

"I released a book and it happened to become a New York Times bestseller..." These are the types of comments I would love to dive into because just that one act is beyond what 99.99 percent of people could achieve. How does something almost impossible "just" happen. BTW, loved this pod.
Creating another source of income in these difficult times is the best thing to do. not only does it guarantee returns,it also helps you plan and save for future express it can be quite difficult to make an investment without sound knowledge or guidance, which is why it is adorable to work with an investment advisor
@Smith James Oh me too!!! I engage in various prolific Investments by compound interest & leveraging and as well operating with an Investment Professional Mr Anthony Taylor , So far I've attained returns over *$85K .*
March this year, I started an investment with Mr Anthony , I invested $9000 which I went into his short-time trading and he helped me clear my Bank dept over $62,700.
Wow! stumbled over here on the same Anthony Taylor , which my colleagues at work always attest to his great experience in investment. good deeds they say, fly easily..... Anthony is great!!
There aren’t many podcasts I feel worthy of my time lately, but Seth Godin is fuel for my soul! There is a reason GOD is in his name!
We rise to the level of the narrative we tell ourselves about who we are and what we can do. Absolutely loved this episode.

Brilliance at its Best… like a beautiful dance
I have listened to the entire episode. Thank you Rich for serving an amazing experience. I love Seth and his way of thinking and encouraging people to think and make things better. He was earlier on my Podcast and he truly pushed me in ways I had never dreamed of.
Now I have to find your podcast!
Loved loved loved this episode, thank you so much! Great discussion regarding climate change solutions! 💚
Also so happy that some of my favorite teachers are finally talking about this I really want my daughter and grandkids to see how beautiful Earth can really.
Rich, your brand is authenticity.
I think rather it’s transformation, though he seems very authentic as well❤️.
@@livthedream5885 transformation is definitely what he is about, but you know when Rich is anywhere, talking to anyone, he is authentic and humble.
Yes indeed!
So glad TH-cam recommended this, what an Awesome Fascinating Man Mr. Seth
Love Seth! His daily blog is a staple in my life❤
This was a Masterclass! Excellent use of time!
THANK YOU TO BOTH OF YOU!
Best interview I ever heard.
This is by far one of the best setups for a podcast, it looks perfect besides the fact that Rich compared to other podcast youtubers, he knows how to listen what the main character has to say( which in this case is Seth Godin).
This convo was absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much.
@sethgodin
This was one of the best podcasts ever Rich
wow you guys are keeping it real 1:02:40 I love this part
Okay…I'm a 51 year old regular guy…and I wear Roka Hamilton Frames (in black) because I liked them on Rich and they work well on runs.
But Seth is crushing those yellow frames!
Love Seth, first time I just liked before listening 🤣 knowing RR it will be fantastic ❤
Thank you for sharing your light
This is such a useful and excellent conversation. Blessings to you both. Thank you 🙏🏼
Pure. Loved it. I've read a bunch of his books. This podcast added a lot to what I've learned from his work. Thanks for getting it from him and into the world.
Seth is one of my all time favorites
I would definitely read the book Seth suggested. Please Rich! You got me into marathons - teach me how to improve my head game!
One of my favorite episodes. Love Seth. Thank you
Yes! Yes! With regards to schools ❤❤❤
Writing is a genrous act.
So inspiring. Thank you.
Mind blown.
This is life changing 🙇♂️ Thank you Seth and Rich, everyone should listen!
Fabulous and inspiring, thank you Seth and Rich!
He did write a great book - that’s how I was first introduced to Rich Roll
This was SOOOOO good!
Brilliant conversation 🔥🙏🙌🏻💥 So Good
Thank you!
It's not the story that you tell
It's the story that you sell
That really makes all the difference

Man so much value in this podcast... Thank you!
Wonderful content. Amazing minds ❤
Many super great points in this session. Thank you both!!!

Thanks for this episode with Seth 👊
What a wonderful person !
Can anyone suggest me best b2b sales books for online business service based..
Loved the podcast. It's pretty funny also to have been impacted (or no that much) with an interruption marketing after finishing Seth's Permission Marketing
Finally.
I just cannot hear the last part of his sentences due to his drop of voice tone … I wish I could have grasped all of them but I couldn’t :(
Finally!!! ❤🎉
This is the topic which I were searching yesterday🤝🏼🙏🏼
This is a great show, I've watched it twice. But, like every other guest you have I still feel stuck in my situation, I'm similar age to you and have been doing the same job for 40yrs. I make good money and should have no complaints, but I need to break free and do something satisfying and be able to retire nicely and have some enjoyment. How do I break free? You have the best guest but their reach or closeness to opportunity is something I don't have. I know this is rambling but I need some help to change directions and do something I enjoy.
One more thing , because I could go on… I want it to be important that my humanity is what you seek.
write to him! in the process you'll figure a lot too!! ;)
hey, does anyone know of similar podcasts to this one that Rich has done? loved this talk!
Would love to see Seth discuss soil with Sadhguru
Thank you for all the work you do Rich 🙏
“Every course at MIT is online for free” - Seth Godin quote …….. holy moly!!!!!!!!
Sometimes when you just survive long enough, people will think you're good. The industry is FULL of people that teach stuff that NEVER worked for them when they were young, but they made alot of money and gained status by selling their methods to lost people looking for help and believe what they say. And boom! Now they are experts.
I love Seth! Even though he dresses like a Dragonball Z character! 😂
Marketing problems are story-of-self problems.
Write not just the story you’ll write to yourself. Write about someone who shares your story with someone else after they worked with you / purchased your product.
LOVEEEEEEEE, SETH!!!
gotta say, we have been selling energy cheaper than the actual cost SO THAT RICH PEOPLE CAN GET RICHER.
What an episode.

"I released a book and it happened to become a New York Times bestseller..."
These are the types of comments I would love to dive into because just that one act is beyond what 99.99 percent of people could achieve.
I'm totally confused especially in this current situation that's affecting the market, how could y'all earn that?
March this year, I started an investment with Mr Anthony , I invested $9000 which I went into his short-time trading and he helped me clear my Bank dept over $62,700.
@@amykikilove6143 this thread sounds very much like bots!
Wow! stumbled over here on the same Anthony Taylor , which my colleagues at work always attest to his great experience in investment. good deeds they say, fly easily..... Anthony is great!!
Seth Godin-Stay in your lane
I can never hear the last word of Seth’s sentence 😂
Lol that's so true!!
Love Seth & Rich. Can we do pod again? Maybe in a year?
Mind blowing! Thank you 🙏🏼
Absolutely beautiful talk
