There are many different variations of the muscle up like for example the kipping muscle up that we see often in Crossfit or the traditional strict ring muscle up on rings. Depending on the variation of muscle up chosen technique needs to be adapted and a different amount of specific strength will be required.

How many pull ups could you do before trying the muscle up?

Once you have the strength; learning the muscle up is all about technique. Using the resistance band method is the most efficient way; starting with the heaviest band (green) and working your way down to the lightest (red).
Yes! Bro you literally just described my journey with the different colored bands - started with green now I'm down to black. I think red is thinnest?
@@Morning404it is the thinnest along with the yellow one but it has one problem that it breaks and it is kind of useless cause at that point of time you will be able to do bodyweight muscleup or pull up , it's is preferred only for warmup

Guys how do I balance weightlifting with calisthenics? I am someone who has gone gym consistently for 2 years and I can do atleast 15 pull ups and 15 dips with good form and I wanna try to get my first muscle up but I don’t want to take away strenght from my weight training sessions

I had the strength, speed & height but for the life of me, I just couldn't get the technique... I wish I'd tried the bands earlier as they do enable you to learn & perfect the technique itself. The bands are particularly useful for progressing beyond doing just one muscle-up at a time!

I can do pull ups easily I have the speed to explode up but my grip won’t turn I don’t understand how to turn my hand from pull-up to muscle up
I had the same problem until I tried wearing a pair of exercise gloves. Your hands will easily slide on the bar while wearing the gloves.
Yup when I used bands my body learned the right angle and motion then after bands it was much easier.

No muscle up with the band is shitty, it helps you only at the beginning of the movement, start with explosives pull ups then try kipping muscle up if you can't you are just too weak yet
until all the muscles involved aren’t strong enough the technique won’t help
This is a good argument point but to be fair with the right technique you actually don't have to be THAT strong. Of course you need to be able to pull up and dip most can be bridge with a bit of momentum

What do u eat?
I don’t follow a specific diet but I try to eat fairly healthy. Oats and eggs for breakfast, chicken rice veggies for lunch, tuna and vegetables stir fry for dinner or so. I try to be pretty strict on sugars as they really mess up my skin and energy levels.
