Nice captured ring goblet Rod but something was missing, huh can't put my finger on it though, to bad the soothing voice of the narrator was not there to let us know, LOL Thumbs up as always, Have a great weekend !

With that voice he should get a side job as a narrator for insurance ads, etc.

Thank you very much, Doug! Like the old silent films from days of forgotten yore... I think my first 40 or 50 videos were no talkers with questionable music choices, lol. Always appreciated, brother!

What a transition from a piece of firewood to a beautiful goblet. As you know I live in Ireland and it's a fairly recent tradition to make a goblet with two captive rings to be presented to the bride and groom at their wedding. It's meaning is that the two captive rings represent the couple who are now inseparable. I've made some and they go down really well with the happy couple.
    Semper Fi.

You have been missed. Hope all is well. BTW that was not firewood. It was just a piece of wood looking for a project. 😃 It found a good one. You just have to love the cedar. You certainly did justice to this piece. 👍I miss your commentary though. Thank you for sharing. Have a great 2022 and stay safe.

Red cedar is one of my favorite woods to turn. It's abundant here and it turns so very nicely and finishes up beautifully. Just like your goblet you made here. Nice idea about a cheap captive ring tool. I would love to make a captive ring but I hate to pay $50 for a tool I wouldn't use but once in a blue moon!
