Good morning, Rod. Very well done. Camera angles, sounds, speed of cuts, view of different cuts, seeing the project in negative for clarity, every saw cut for the glue-up, a time frame for the glue-up to cure, description of the mortise and jaw contact and the sound of the grit in the Acks Sanding Paste. At one point, I think I could even smell the aroma of the wood. You created a beautiful, eye catching piece in a way that helps us, me, with a perfect peace. Thank you.
Thank you for your service to your country and ever mor thank you for sharing Our Lord &Savior on your sight. I’m an 80 year old grandma who watches woodturning & house building rather than the trash on networks. Just watched the Spanish Cedar video. Elegant plater. Didn’t know there were different varieties of cedar. God bless& have a joyous weekend.
Another amazing piece! Some of the shavings looked like sparks flying from it. I love the way the 3 colors of wood work together. You really have a good eye. Thank you for taking the time to share your art. I hope you and your family have an amazing 2022! God bless you and keep you all strong and healthy. You’re a wonderful person.
I love the way you took something less than perfect and shaped it into something not only worthy of use but beautiful! Just like God does with us! Your color choice is very pleasing and that you left it square is really special. Thank you for reminding us to stay anchored; timely and encouraging. God bless.
Good morning Rod you never cease to amaze me beautiful project the Lord has truly gifted you with a the talent to bring out the beauty of his wood. Semper Fi
This experience cutting this piece is an analogy of faith, obedience and perseverance. All three are necessary and when applied correctly the results are beautiful.
The curves make it look like it could fly. Turning air is so fascinating because the shadows flicker with the white of the maple and I always hold my breath during a pass as I am so a-feared of going to far and making a huge catch. Amen, John 14:27. Blessings.
Love the scripture. And I love how you don't beat people over the head with it, but you just put it out there. What your viewers do with it is up to them.
Mr.R Humphrey that is a beautiful tray for fruits. The color is beautiful as always I love your crafts it's a joy to see how you are so creative with wood .God Bless You Always 🤗❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Gorgeous bowl Rod. I really like the addition of the walnut and maple, I think it adds a lot to that without taking away from the beauty of the Spanish cedar.
Beautiful piece. I love the subtle shifts in the figure of the wood and the contrasts between the colors of the woods. It came out absolutely stunning.
Wow that sure is pretty! Spanish Cedar reminds me of Western Red Cedar in look and how it turns. Love the contrast between the cedar walnut and maple! God Bless you Rod and family.
Morning ,hope you & Susan are safe & well.😁. The platter is beautiful at first I thought you would cut it into a circle, but I'm glad you didn't, it's great to watch the skills you have to turn thin air, thanks for posting.💖😍. God Bless stay safe
A very unique shape I think you're the first Turner I've seen turn something like that I think it came out wonderful love the color and variations of the wood tones 👍👍
Rod, Nice job on that Spanish Cedar. You handled that crack nicely, added in some minimal but great pieces. Nice looking platter with some character & flare. Don’t change your format too much. Keep on turning & making shavings.
Irony - watching Rod's videos to learn, using what I've learned to gain my own experience, bringing experience back to watch Rod's videos and knowing i got lots to learn!
Ron, with Ray Worstine comment being spot on, there is nothing for me to say. As a turner, your ever word it spot on to me. I hear and see the same mate. New turners to your TH-cam channel Will benefit greatly from what you have shared. All the best cobber.
Well I see you survived the camping. Hope you had a great and peaceful outing. That is an awesome platter/ plate/dish you have there. I've got to try making one for sure. Thanks for the scripture quote.
I have been working on other wood projects and I have missed this awesome channel. Watching is peaceful, always insightful and wonderful to see fabulous art appear! Thank you Rod!!!
You should be happy with it. I can only dream of doing such eloquent work. Keep it up, and I will keep watching and learning and one day I’ll send you one.
Took me a little while to get to this Rod and for that I apologise but my goodness it was worth the wait, its absolutely gorgeous I love the contrast of woods and I like the square shape to the platter 👍👍👍
Once again you take something that is broken and make something beautiful. Love the combination of woods. The maple really set everything off. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Great platter. I really like how the "stripe" (for want of a better word) is off center. Symmetry has it's place but it can be a little boring at times. Thanks for the videos and the scripture.
Another beautiful piece! And perfect timing, as I noticed a similar blank I have with a big crack down the middle....your method beats the fire pit! Thanks!
Beautiful. I’m liking everything about it. The combination of the woods is lovely. That you offset the center a bit give tons of interest. Great job of turning it and getting the edges the same, corner to center. Good job!
Hi Rod, That is a very very lovely square platter. The Black Walnut and Maple add so much to the piece as well. Gorgeous Rod. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Very beautiful work, as always. This is a fantastic wood, relatively common here in Brazil and I often turn pieces made of cedar. The smell is amazing!
42 comments ahead of me. Not much left for me to say without repeating everyone else. So after agreeing with all the proceeding, thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe
I appreciate how slow you approached that spinning propeller Great project. Good to see your use of the wood and were able to get beyond that Nasty crack Tha KS for another great video. I am going to look for Spanish red cedar
Beautiful platter Rod, but what is also impressive but not often mentioned, is getting good close up video of your turning and tool presentation with a camera in the way to make it all the more difficult. So a pat on the back for this skill as well.
Beautiful work, Rod! Enjoyed watching some of those full, real time, cuts. And, your negative colour idea, great job. Thought you were working on my Rikon, for a minute. :) Be well. Thanks for the verses.
