  • Gemma Levi, Senior Manager for Community Infrastructure, Healthy Behaviours and Mental Health for Children and Families, chats over a cup of tea with our Co-production Ambassador and Community Partner Jay and our Project Co-ordinator, Elise, about the plans and ethos for our Tackling Poverty Together (TPT) project.
What can people expect from joining the project?
Elise explains that working in co-production on this project might mean we will end up with something we were not expecting. Working as a group with community and civic partners together, and Suffolk wide, could bring any number of topics.
What are the expectations of the project?
Gemma says making sure voices are heard, captured, acted on and working together to make changes. For example, there are some things that make it more difficult for people such as the way goods and services are requested to be paid for. Money coming in doesn't always align with money going out. How can we make that easier?
"Some changes could be large and others small, some quick while others will need more time, but it will all have an impact. As long as we are all working towards it."
Jay would like to see standardisation across the board with support hubs and services, and how they offer and display signposting. Finding a way that breaks down barriers, encourages people to come forward, enables them to ask for help without fear and not feel so alone.
Thank you Gemma, Elise and Jay for coming together for a cuppa, to share your thoughts and wishes for the project!

This series is about embracing the ideal that co-production can start anywhere - even when two (or more) people have a chat over a cup of tea.
